My Brilliance even shocks myself sometimes, but not as much as my frequents bouts of stupidity, lol!!

May start a campaign for her to change her alias to my more appropriate suggustion !! LOL!!

ps, She has taken it well !!

If your talking about Wine for me probably my favourite bottle of White has to be the South Australian Oxford Landing Sauvignon Blanc which is a really nice and crisp wine that goes down well with a nice bit of Sea Bass!.

I also have several bottles of Champagne that I have accrued over the years that are still in the drinks cabinet and for me you can't be a bit of Bollinger!!

    quick storey......

As its ma birthday, I just had a lovely meal out with Mrs Hitwife at a New Steak House in Ruislip!!
Very Romantic after 22 years, Sry i missed most of show....

Anyway....we sunk a lovley bottle of NZ red!! Great steaks...and we get to deserts....

    Mrs Hitwife says...

" Am Full, was lovley, lets just share a desert, your birthday , you choose "

Never to miss a trick, and as i heard it's so important in poker, i replied...

" No!! You choose desert, i'll choose position".......[lol]

Mrs Hitwife smiled, winked and said,

" No your Birthday, You choose desert...I'll choose position "

very exited, with an 'all in' confidence i said...

"great!!! we will have the baked alaska"

    she paused....and 'called'...

"fine, lovley, you sleep downstairs bedroom, & i'll sleep upstairs"

Man!! she would  make a Great poker player!!

    PMSL!!

PS. The NZ Red was a Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir, never tried before!! We all prob have heard/tried the Cloudy Bay Savingnon Blanc, very popular, bit pricey & bit too Gooseberry sharp for my amatuer taste, but this was pleasant surprise!!

Was £40 in this restaurant, but that's with £10 on top for 'name' prob, but suited us both as Mrs Hitwife not a Big red Fan!  Very Smooth, not tanin at all! Strawberry Jammy & lite, but still full enough to blend with the Steak, rather like a Gamay Beaujelais!!

Aint really no expert, just mho, would defo track down from 'offy' or club, would be reasonble at 15/18 Quid!!

Sometimes I've found when a Top 'Red' house brings out a white to sell on name, & vice versa, it just dont work, dont know if this is what happened here but very NICE!!

Rite Posh stuff out the way, back ta ma Cider & Methylateds!!

"Hey Pal, Canna ya gis us 50p fa a cuppa tee!!"

They were filmed in a spectacular candlelit wine cellar, maybe in a restaurant, club or casino!! If its someones Home I am very jealous!! Simple question, Where is it?  Would love to see it !! As it is obviously laid out by a Big Wine Buff Would be great if whoever looks after it could post on ma Wine & Dining Thread,[in the shed], if poss, would love to speak to them, am only an enthusiatic amatuer, [like poker, lol], but find the real pro.s fascinating to talk to, [ditto, lol] Thanks mate Run well

    Great!!

Just got a Crate of each of some Good Stuff for Christmas, some will be for customers, but MOST for ME!!

will prob Dive into Tescos to get some cheap plonk for clients

Anyway..... looking forward to trying these...

1, Baron Delagrezette 40th Anniversary Malbec 2005, Cahors AOC
14%, rec drink by Jan 2014, so I wont hang around
Malbec one of my fav's,  best normally said to be from Argentina, this from Cahors, next to Bordeaux Region!
I have had French Malbecs before & normally VERY good!

       2, Chateau Gachon 2009, Montagne Saint-Emilion.
13.5% drink by 2020, so i may kepep this back a bit
St-Emilion One of my first favourites, when i started on wine, when trying to better myself out of The Ghettoe!
Always found good Ones, luckily, & always reasonable price for a 'Bordeaux AOC'!
Hoping here for some nice liquorice & plum notes as normal!!

3, Brightwater Pinot Noir 2009, Nelson NZ!  I cant wait to try this!!
14% drink by 2013, These will be gone by Xmas!!
I aint really no expert, but these NZ Reds from south Island have become a bif fave of Mine after meeting the owners of The Felton Road Wine Co. out of Central Otago, close to Nelson!!
Screw-Top, so no facking about decanting as with the French reds!!
Always a treat, & Mrs Hitwife likes them too,  as so smooth!!
Notes on this, say.... Aroma-Wild Cherry & Raspberry aromas with notes of violet!!

OMG!! WORK PROBLEMS seem to be just drifting away lol!!!

.....back to reality, I will Bang on with these & let you Know, If I think any are Shitee, dont worry I will say!!

Dreams.....I wish I could play Poker for a living....
BUT I REALLY WISH I COULD DRINK WINE FOR A LIVING!!!

....Must be The Dean Martin in me!!

    GL! X

Have tried 2 bottles of the NZ Pinot, very good, not great, 7.5/10!!  Has a wonderful nose tho, 9/10, which lead me to be lil dissapointed with taste, but very nice!

Last nite, had a great meal at 'The Living Room' Oxford with friends!!

    Food GREAT!!, reasonable too!!
Wine Superb, very reasonable too for price, considering venue!!
Had an Argentinian Malbec, Tillia, 10/10 super, [even Hitwife loved it], & a Italian Pinot grigo, nice 7/10!

Even better, One of the other couples, husband is BA pilot, we both Godfathers, to the last couples children, Harvie & Georgia!! Anyway he has coming up quite a few flights to Vegas with 4 nite stopovers, ....and has promise to take me on one!! I Cant fookin wait!!
Only time i been to Vegas, before I started Poker, was out there for a Veterans footie tournie, 8 days, lost to Mexicans in final, & partied HARD!! So would love to play a couple of tournies out there, and have a few nites out with the air-hostess's.... I hope at least some of em are girls, PMSL!!!...... hey you know how it is!!

    when in rome.........
