So, what’s the story on Sky Poker this week?
Simple answer- more guests!
Due to popular demand from you guys, the staff at Sky Poker Towers are now working feverishly round the clock to land big names from the game to educate and entertain you on Channel 865.
Where else will you see these proven standard bearers of NL Hold ‘Em, hold court for FOUR HOURS of hand analysis? And more to the point, hand analysis of YOUR hands!
In short, we’re spoiling you. Let’s not beat about the bush. You are utterly spoilt. You’re welcome.
This Thursday for example, from 8pm, it’s the Sky Sports £15K Gtd Bounty Hunter and joining James Hartigan and Tikay in the studio will be the man they call Chufty...
Yes, it’s World Series Bracelet winner Richard Ashby!
Richard is a legend of the online scene- playing at the highest stakes available and against the best players in the world. He’s been in nosebleed heads-up sessions recently with the likes of Cole South (we’re talking $2000/$4000 here) and he’s had $1.1million swings in the space of 10 hours. Sick. So sick.
Quote from the man himself:
“durrrrr is a very creative player. I recently played him at $500/1,000, it was the first time I’d played that high, but I thought I’d buy in for $50,000 and take a shot. I lost that initial buy-in, but still ended up cashing out for $190,000.”
CLUNK. That’s the sound of my jaw dropping to the floor. Insane.
Now, tell me you can’t learn something from this guy on Thursday night?!!!
Post your questions to the man below- should be a cracking show!

Q for Mr Ashby
have you ever considered of semi retiring , with the money you already have and playing x amuont of tournaments round the world while on holiday and maybe invest some money and take life a bit more easy ,or is the money just to sick or do you see it as a Ft job and for how long ?
I,ve seen Pro,s go broke and ruined lives in this game but how do you keep it tohethor?
MP
Reminder, this is TONIGHT!
We could use some more questions for Richard*, who is a bright, intelligent, fascinating individual.
* I refer, of course, to Richard Ashby, not Richard Orford. Obv.
Question for Ashby...
Obviously throughout the years of playing poker there has been some memorable hands with huge significance to you. What is the most memorable winning OR losing hand you remember sitting in a tournament or cash game...
By the way, I satellited in to the Bounty Hunter tonight...would be good to see a bit of action from my table if possible? Also a friendly last longer to anyone in the tourny!?
Many thanks
Could you please ask King Richard why he chooses to play Omaha over NLHE, what he loves about the game and is Omaha his favourite variant? If not which variant is please? tyvm
I'd been playing a guy who'd been raising and betting with absolutely nothing all night and had been shown to be bluffing so often that it was a joke. I ended up in a hand with him and while the exact details have been for ever blocked from my memory for fear of developing some kind of all-consuming mental illness, I do remember this:
Get to the turn, have an open-ended straight draw and a Queen-high flush draw. Hit both on the river. He bets. In a moment of utter madness, I shove, thinking that this could be the easiest money I have ever made.
He pauses. He carries on pausing. He goes into the tank. He stays there for a while. Seasons change, there are a couple of new Prime Ministers. And then, finally, he calls.
Mr. "I've Had Absolutely Nothing Right To Showdown All Night" has hit the K-high flush draw.
I think I had to take some time off after that one.
Round at a mates home game his table decided to collapse resulting in all our chips getting mixed up.
Needless to say it ended in a big argument over who had what (nobody seemed to believe I was chip leader for some reason).
After 10 minutes of bickering we agreed to start again.
To be honest, I was more concerned about our drinks that had all ended up on the floor too.

I was playing Kerplunk and poked one of the sticks under my nail, to make matters worse later that evening I trod on one of the marbles.
who does richard rate as the top young brit player and the chances of them binking a w.s.o.p bracelet?
I had been telling the family (who didnt know poker at all), about how great I was and how I could teach them.
Taught them the rules and broke open the 1p and 2p's for a friendly cash game.
Ended with me getting stacked over and over and then storming out.
Classic line:
