Also I don,t have "an irrational fear of the unknown". Its just a game i,ve tried but don,t think i,m any good at  and think my time is best spent on learning other things and couldn,t find the traffic to practise it if i wanted to. (as I only play on sky now ) As a result i don,t think there is any point in entering something I know i,m no good at and would probably lose at Unfornately you can,t expect everyone to love every idea you come up with and I was merely trying to point out something I wasn,t  to keen on in a competition which in the main  is a good idea

I have no problem with anyone not liking this format and/or opting not to play.

But I don't think you should worry about being "good" at Omaha.  Variance in PLO tournaments is huuuuuuuuuge!

Oh...apologies for not answering your question about the ARL...

That league did not require players to register in advance - and you would have been welcome to play any of the events over the six weeks that the promotion ran.

ok - slight misusterstanding

Its not the the Omaha - its the Omaha hi-lo

Can you sugest somewhere where I can pick up some tips on this form of the game?

Also would you say that the variance of PLO8 are even greater than PLO?

North

South

East

West

So, if you're in the middle of southern Scotland, you'd definitely be in the 'North'!

on that note how will you get past this will you only be able to register for one? will there be a list of where you have to submit prior

No, you cannot play in two divisions.

I will ultimately decide whether you're in the 'South' or 'East'.

Obviously, I will need to balance the number of players in each division, so will probably have to take a few geographical liberties - just like the NFL has St Louis playing in the 'West' and Dallas playing in the 'East'!

Will read all of Talon's articles, as the few i have seen have been superb & concise!!

Just hope JH does not take any 'geographical liberties' with me, as have had to put up with 'Biological Liberties' throughout my formulative years!!

ps. will Doncaster have its own region, as there seems to be a plethora of decent players springing up from around there, unless Dan is spawning them like 'lil' tubby tadpoles' !!

Yes, the league will be based on ALL results.  If you miss a tournament, you will automatically be ranked last.

So, to use my previous example once again, if there are 79 runners in the tournament a "missing" player will achieve an 80th place finish!

You will not be automatically entered for ANY tournaments.

So, you only have to pay for the ones you play!
