First computer - BBC Electron The girl friend reading out lines and lines pages and pages of Basic code from a computer magazine to be meticulously entered to play the latest game. One comma, one character, one colon missed and the game wouldn't run! Check all the code entry again!! Posted by Boxster
I loved my Electron. OK I still have my Electron...
It was (is) epic - Mode 7 board, dual disk drives, backplane for cartridges, even has a mouse.
"....Tonight it's the big one- The Sunday Night Primo and I'm back on duty with the old dear...." You are SO going to reget that, you incompetent wazzock. PS - A tomato is a FRUIT, right? Understand? Just because someone THINKS it is a vegetable, does not MAKE IT a vegetable. Comprehend? You've made me grumpy now, & you've only got yourself to blame. Be afraid. Posted by Tikay10
I agree. That was the point I was trying to make with my final post last night. Somehow Rich managed to interpret that as it's a vegetable, lol.
10 Input "Please enter an edible object you are unsure the genus of"; A$ 20 If A$ = "Tomato" Then Go To 50 30 Print "Wazzock" 40 Go To 60 50 Print "Total Wazzock" 60 End

A Spun gun that fired real potato at family & friends
Plastic hand held space rockets that had pucussions caps in them and we would frightened the lifes of the pensioners that tried to make our lives a misery for just being young.

Hi Dave,
I sent you & Sue an e-Mail today - just to say, really, good luck to you both tonight in the VLV thing.
PS - There is a Typo in your Post - you said "spun gun", you meant "spud gun". Wonderful things, not seen one for ages.
Gadgets and gizmos and all that eh. aaahhh if only, we were that poor growing up that when all the other kids used to play hide and seek, we had to invent a new game called seek cos we couldn't afford anything to hide behind lol
Remember the TV ads that showed drawings that had perfect 45 Degree lines and also circles. Impossible trying to turn both knobs at the same rate to achieve anything like! LOL.
Yea also remember the Stylophone --- Rolf Harris ad --- Dross mono-tone that everybody loved (or maybe hated) but had to have one
Worst gadget ever was the barcode battler. I think the idea was you could cut out barcodes from anything and stick them onto card, and then swipe it and you would have some kind of fight with the machine depending on the info on the barcode? Never once got it to work. Totally useless.
Hi Rich & Tikay have a great show do you remember the Robot Boxer
When i was a Kid that was the toy to have, it kept me & me mates amused for hours you had 2 handles with buttons & all you had to do was to knock the opponents head off to win
Sodastream, the teasmaid, hostess trolley, calculators with a hundred buttons you knew nothing about, Wind up alarm clocks, I still have hundreds of old video tapes in the loft! Polaroid instamatic camera.
I remember a game called "Crossfire" Where you repeatedly fired steel ball bearings from a plastic gun at a large puck type thing to try and score into your oppo's goal.
Inevitably someone always caught a ricochet in the eye. (iPad, we had them back then on standby, just in case).
As a youth I remember when my parents rented the latest (and at the time very revolutionary) telephone model called the 'Trimphone'. It was the 1st telephone manufactured that did not incorporate a bell but an electronic warbler that mimicked a bird and had an extra long lead that allowed you to walk around the room whilst having a conversation. The dial glowed in the dark due to it's radiactivity and the phone came in 3 colours (ours was 2-tone blue) and for it's day, very popular with the younger kids as it had that wow factor , just a terrible shame they were so unreliable.
Record players that played 78's - Mario Lanza FTW Black & White TV's & spending hours fiddling with the vertical/holizonal hold buttons My first computer was the Commodore 64, I spent hours playing Space Invaders & Breakout
just been speaking to mother and she said something about going to a shop to get acid for the battery for a radio???? also asking if tikay had a Davey Crockett hat????
kids today probably still buy acid from the shop, but im not going there!!!!!
NOT a gadget but I'm sure TK will remember these....GREEN SHIELD STAMPS!
You got 4 x stamps free for filling your car up with petrol. Stuck them on a card, and when you had saved up 30,000 stamps you redeemed them in a Green Shield shop (bit like Argos) for goods in the catalogue e.g. 30K got you something like a toaster! Remember working it out once that to get a toaster you needed to spend circa £10K in petrol!!! Ahh the good old days!!!

I've come up with an 'exciting' new quiz strand tonight...
What's...in Tikay's box?
Yes, the mind boggles (shudder).
What in fact IS in Tikay's box are 3 prizes: 2 entries to decent buy-in tourneys and one booby prize.
We need 3 contestants though via the usual channel......skyopen@bskyb.com
Email us your phone number and we'll get you on the air to answer five questions on a subject of your choosing from poker, TV and film.
Whoever gets the most answers right out of 5, gets to delve in Tikay's box. Enjoy!
Im sure he has 3 man bags you could use
Making the prize "getting to delve into Tikay's box" is not helping your cause!
Does it go something like this rich?
