Good luck to every one in the Vegas Semi and of course Kidgrimsby. Out first tonight I had full house 9's over Jacks and the other player got his J on the river for the bigger Full House. Gutted but thats Poker.
Our first computer was an Acorn Electron but my favourite game ever was a few years later on the Sega Mega Drive
We used to play PGA golf with 4 players and put a pound in for each hole until someone won the pot. (If the hole was split the remainng players would have to put an extra pound in until someone won the hole outright )
We,d be down the arcades all day in the summer season in Blackpool and all come back with pockets full of pound coins and play until the following morning when the arcades opened again at 9am.
Could go 3 nights w/o sleep quite regularly in those days, Am shattered after 1 night now - Argghh Happy Days
Great stuff all- loads of posts already and we haven't even started the show. I've come up with an 'exciting' new quiz strand tonight... What's...in Tikay's box? Yes, the mind boggles (shudder). What in fact IS in Tikay's box are 3 prizes: 2 entries to decent buy-in tourneys and one booby prize. We need 3 contestants though via the usual channel......skyopen@bskyb.com Email us your phone number and we'll get you on the air to answer five questions on a subject of your choosing from poker, TV and film. Whoever gets the most answers right out of 5, gets to delve in Tikay's box. Enjoy! Posted by RICHORFORD
I,ve gone for that since i did try and enter the footy player comp last night , but noticed a delivery status notification in my inbox today - sent it to the wrong email address
Now then Richard and Tony. Nostalgic toys for me has to be marbles! had a big bag full of them back in the day wish i knew where they were now. worth a fortune some of them! great show as always, keep up the good work. Posted by HOTFLUSH66
Oh, marbles. (some say Tikay lost his ages ago!) )
I went to a Welsh school* (dont tell Dylan!) and the few English lads (about 20 of us in a school of 200 plus) were the 'marbles mafia' . We controlled all the games in and out of school hours and basically ran the unofficial money for marbles racket and made a fortune! I doubt we would get away with that kind of thing nowadays.
*I was only at this school for 3 years and left just before doing my 11+. Also, with the teachers consent would you believe, there would be an England v Wales 'play' scrap every St.Davids Day (I still have the bruises!!)
Great week of Minis this week and I really hope they continue and get the same support as they have had this week!!
Just to make Tikay smile....
I cashed in Friday's TOT rebuy tourney in 4th/36. I did not take a rebuy or an add on though )

What was the deciding factor that made VHS win out over Betamax?
It wasn't marketing.
It wasn't price.
It wasn't technical.
We used to spend hours making glass after glass of fizzy orange.
What more could you want as a kid.
Oooh sorry, I see Loony has already mentioned Soda Streams.
