I could list every excuse under the sun, but really it's easily summed up - it was a horror Call by me. There was just no reason or justification - as almost every single reply confirmned - to Call in that spot. But I was just so curious to see what his game was, & paid the price.
My bad.
Thanks for the replies, very enjoyable Thread, & let's see more of these, particularly where they involve unforced errors.
Oh yes - I forgot to add. I did Call. The A flopped, & that was that. I could list every excuse under the sun, but really it's easily summed up - it was a horror Call by me. Agreed TK, this has been a good thread.
Anyone else with more (without the results) would be good.
I know you have already revealed everything TK but i would like to add my thinking. In your spot I would be thinking that he has AA... my reasoning is that you have only limped and shown no strength so he could make you fold by just making a smaller raise if he had air. With a real hand by shoving he is very unlikely to get called and so he is effectively blind stealing a ridiculously small amount. By shoving he is getting called light (for example the amount of hands sky dave would call with!) as it looks a ridiculous play with a complete monster. You were obviously a lot stronger than you looked with your limp but you still have to fold because you have to be better than these players to play at this level. If you are not better than them there is no point playing at that level. So if you tell yourself you are better than them then you should fold being worried about 'coin flip' or dominating situations as you can easily find a better spot.I have seen some weird plays by people when they shove with anything at a random time but you have to be cautious and assume they know how to play poker well-ish.

Good Post bud, I don't really disagree with a word. My play was bad.
I had 9-9, & felt sure he'd Call if I Raised, then I'm playing 9-9 OOP against an aggro unknown, so I won't like many Flops.
So I actually Limped thinking he'd try & nick it for - judging by his three previous PF Overbets - 250 or 300, & the Plan was to jam on him, to say, in effect, "look, stop messing with me sunny Jim, cos I can Over-Bet just as easily as you can, so lets all be cool, like Fonzi, eh?".
And of course he had sent down a googly, & bowled me all ends up, & I felt rather silly, quite rightly too.

my 2 pence worth is he is sitting on a k suited, strong enough hand if some one calls, but not aa kk massive hand that he would slow play, obviously an action junkie, best to fold catch him later, what do i know, just an opinion

Yes, he won it.
No cpmplaints there, either - he got the golden "early double-up" we all crave so in these, so it would have been very simple from there on in, bearing in mind he only has to await one player to exit. All thanks to tikay tonking off his stack. ;(
If you 2xup early in a DYM, you are nailed-on to cash.

Interesting. Surely he has to wait for 2 more players to exit if you are the first one out? My experience is that an early 2xup is no guarantee of a cash in a DYM.

I have not decided why, yet.

Of course, if the A never flopped......

At this stage of a DYM I would fold and wait for a better spot after not raising in the SB.

Do you HAVE to be right every time?
Awwwwwwwww, thx - shucks.
If you keep setting up the open goals, I'll try not to miss them (but no promises).
