    Guys,

    I am sure Tikay's comments were intended to be tongue in cheek and regular viewers of the channel will know that. Those who are less used to Tikay's line of humour might have found certain comments out of line. If that's the case, I am sure the man himself will comment when he's next online.

    As for this thread, don't let it turn in to a name-calling argument okay? Discuss it by all means, but if it's not civil or goes against the Community Guidelines, it will be deleted and those concerned contacted via PM. There was a post put up recently about Flaming and Trolling. I suggest everyone on this thread reads it so they're taken by surprise by a suspension.

The forum is meant to be a place of constructive debate and fun musings.  Your original post of   "been watching the bh show and not for the 1st time cardinal tikay has felt the need while discussing a band from manchester to insult people from essex.. posted a comment on ask tikay and don't really see why me and basically all my relatives, not to mention millions of other people, should be slurred so a miserable human being has someone to rant about.. tell it about other groups tk and see where it lands you, working for sky's pr surprising this has occured to a commoner and not to you.. why don't you ban all the low life south of derbyshire and see if you can make a profit from only half a country. once got you a polite chuckle, two/ three was boring, lost count since then but keep your dumb comments to the "knit" strategy you love to go on about . bob" showed none of this.  You talk about respect, but as I have highlighted above your original post had so much disrespect within it.  You have insulted myself a couple of times when I have not said one thing of a disrespectful nature about you.  I'm not offended, I'm just trying to find out what is the point behind conducting a nonsensical rant on the internet because at this point I'm quite at a loss.  Please try to make this place better, not worse.  This doesn't mean you have to be positive towards everything SkyPoker related, however this does mean you should be reasoned and respectful.

    when someone repeatedly makes the same insinuations about me and my family, which by the nature of them are negative, i insult them back... you and me are just never gonna see things the same way but if you wanna start trying to denegrate me (which i can say after this post you are) don't assume for a minute i take it lying down.,, if the man hadn't been repeatedly mentioning my place of origin i would not be posting this.. so don't start with me for feeling the desire to defend people i love, or do start over it.. but it's never something i will apologise for, and i'd feel pity for someone who would.

    I seriously wonder how some people get by in life without a sense of humour. I'm sure it's not the first time you've heard someone make a few jokes about people from essex. It happens on lots of tv shows about allsorts of places and people.

Everyone is so ready to be offended these days, people almost want to be offended as if it provides them with the power of the wronged.  And they will complain about it, well, as long as it's easy.  If it's difficult to complain or to campaign for change we'll just give it a miss shall we?

    Well said Tommy,I spent 18 yrs in the military and some of the things we said to each other would have one or two on this site In tears. Thankfully its only a minority but im afraid its the sad world in which we live in!

    seeing as it's me now having to answer to all on here withdrawn all my funds and will play elsewhere from now so no need to pm me, and from what some have acted like on here now the commoner has gone it'll be blissful and nobody here has a problem with him... who wants to take that bet? respect to hitman, chirpychip and a few others, none for the rest..

    i dont think the thread should be closed, but people should conduct themselves in a more respectful manner. Lordbobby has clearly been offended by what he has heard and he has every right to make his feelings clear. Should he of phrased some things differently IMO yes, however when things make us angry we all display this emotion and respond angry manner as this is our feelings.

    I remember some time ago TK expressing his dislike towards people using the word 'ugly' to discribe the way a person looks and i agree with this. Did the email that was sent into the show still get read out, yes it did and without complaint. So why has this post come up against so much resistance.

    I was really not trying to denigrate you.  If anything I was trying to empower you.  I made a comment that 'people only complain if it's easy' and your response was 'I don't have Ofcom on Speed-dial.'

    There are several corporations who have made money off producing stereotypical media belittling places (including Essex), people, races, religion and creed.  There is so much more to be offended by than this, so much more that is nasty and mean whereas this was just a honest joke.

    I respect your opinion but I only ask you to express your opinion in a level constructive fashion for the good of the community.  Build something.  I hope you redeposit and I honestly hope you continue to post here.  I would love you debate many more issues with you because you have passion I admire.  Just put your focus in the right direction and do not denigrate yourself by resorting to insults and petty squabbling.  I truly believe from this evidence you are better than that.

    For what it's worth I grew up in a town that is called both a London Town and an Essex Town when it's on the news.
