Problem is the teams are too big and seem to be recruiting for the sake of it. Having teams/squads of 30+ just de-values the whole thing....might as well all merge as 1 massive DTD squad! lol. When sky ran their initial "team league" over 5 nights it was loads of teams of 10. Maybe the established teams of TKP and THS should be able to get away with 20, and have an A team and a B team, but any more than that is just overkill imo. There's no people left to make more teams!! - And also when a team is so big you lose the camaraderie and team spirit that you get with smaller teams. Anyway maybe I'm just saying that coz I only have like 4 people in my team. lol. But we'll be full to the brim and up for battle as soon as sky get their ar/ses in gear and get a team comp going.

THS - 14
TKP - 14
TPT - 13
T51 - 13
TNP - 3

Only bit of fun in a threads, and started as a challenge between us THS & TKP,

When a few new forumites & players asked to join in, was i meant to say No!! We Decided to welcome all who wanted in!! some just post once or twice, some do play DTD, others join in the banter, The Important thing was we were fully INCLUSIVE!!

Which maybe others, had felt excluded before, I wish ALL TEAMS WELL, especially TNP, who others got the start on, like I say only bit of fun, not like there's gonna be any tapping up or transfers or anything!!

Actually JJ I totally agree!!!

Trying to organise upto 15 people into TK outfits was tricky enough without adding another 20 or 30...plus it gets difficult for railing and keeping track when the team is too big!!

Part of the reason I was able to keep my Knights last year was because the teams were made up of 10 (in our case 8) so it was relatively easy to keep track of everyone. Personally I think if teams get too big it reduces the 'voice' of some of the quieter, and less visible teamies.

I'd love to see both you the Ninja's have a full squad though, so you'd best get your recruiting heads on innit?

P.s. TKPers would never divide into team A and team B as all our players are BRILLIANT!!! Instead we would divide into TKP Fantastic and TKP Excellent teams ;o))

FACT is TKP been operating succesfully for a long while!! They have everyone's respect, mine included, and it was not till The Four hitsquad members had a challenge thrown at us that ALL this kicked off, so it was hardly planned!! Before we new it Everyone was joinin in & been great for all hopefully!!

In fact been great, that it has had such impromptu success, as I have stated very early, i hoped our little challenge does not detract from the DTD itself which Chris & Michael have done excellently with, and hopefully will still be here long after any Team banter has possibly fizzled out!!

I know some people got a bit exited Monday, me too, think most will understand!!
But The Hitsquad & Myself are happy to move forward with our DTD friends!!

Good luck ALL, Especially The Ninja Plonkers!!!

We didn't put any limit on numbers for our team. I think that after an initial surge it will level itself out and there will be a nucleus of players who will participate on a regular basis. As far as the DTD comp goes it's an example of what makes this the best forum in poker. Hopefully some friendly rivalry between the teams will only add to the original. Even though the buy-ins for DTD are intentionally modest it attracts players who normally shoot a bit higher than a £1 buy in. That is good for the game and for the concept of DTD in my opinion.

As far as team size goes, well that's for each team to work out and decide for themselves whether by design or trial and error. In true 51 fashion we are going for the trial and error option, so we'll just see where it takes us. I don't want at this stage to say to anyone they can't join for whatever reason and the competitive part of membership is only a small percentage of what it's all about. We have a separate/private FB section for 51 members with live chat and a help and strategy section - the social side is as important as fielding a winning team.
