It's very well publicised who is in Team Sky Poker, there are numerous threads dedicated to Team Sky Poker etc. You don't have to be a pro to be a member of Team Sky Poker, you just have to finish top 6 in a 90 runner tournament so why should they be identified as something special?
If the link works above you will see Gliterbabe is no secret on Sky Poker.
I look at this completely the opposite way to Jake, IMO me one of the joys of poker is that a recreational player can end up playing a game against pro.
For example, if you play for your local pubs Sunday league footie team there's absolutely no way you're ever going to end up playing a match against a Premier League player. If you enjoy playing recreational chess there's no way you're ever going to get a match a grandmaster. But in poker, especially online poker, that really can happen.
One of my greatest poker experiences was winning a seat worth $320 in a tournament with a big guarantee on another site. I was fortunate enough to play for nearly 3 hours with some well know online stars, many of whom I've seen on TV, and instructors from the worlds top online training sites. In what other game or sport might that happen?
When we play poker, Live OR Online, we have no ideas, or control, who shares the table with us, & nobody is forced to say who they are. That's just how poker is, & always has been.
If you play on Sky Poker, you might share a Table with a recreational player, a Team Sky Poker Member, a TV Presenter, an EPT winner, or a GUKPT winner. Sky Poker regulars include all of those people. I can, for example, think of several EPT winners who play on Sky Poker.
If you play £1 £2 Omaha here, it's "very probable" that the player knows what he is doing.
It's just how poker works, Jake. Everyone in Online poker uses an alias, & nobody is forced to declare their ability or past record.
Ya having a big shiny Avatar that says 'im a winning pro' is a great way to attract recreational players to play you. Great strat IMO. Get on it Sky...
I would however like to commend you on the use of 'Disgusted' as your valediction (The bit in a letter just before your signature).
The last time I saw that used to such strong effect was in 1986 in an episode of 'Points Of View'. That was relating to Bobby Ewing coming back from the dead in Dallas but I see a similarity in the upset it must of caused and understand the need for its use.

I must add for the purpose of the post that I am a Professional Wind Up Merchant.
when you sit at a 200PLO HU table who do you really expect to be up against ?
there are a lot of players who play on here for a living do you think they should all be outted just so you can be reminded never to sit in with one of them that would be stupid you made the mistake of sitting in with a good professional poker player and paid for it, next time you decide to do it you should possibly take a look at who you are up against maybe you won't make the same mistake........
I sat down at some thing called a forum game once.....whatever that is. There were some people there, Dohhhhh, Boonicon, LoL something or other, Dueces, Young Gun.......have no idea who they were but I lost several buy ins........I feel cheated......not only did I lose money but I had a stinking hangover in the morning too........that was Skys fault and all, not only should I be able to see people who are better than me, I should see a health warning on those games!!!
In Response to Re: SKY POKER TEAM! : dont know which he was - he was called Gliterbabe. just feel a bit cheated but that's life...........wont bother again Posted by JakeDixon7
sorry mate but who do you expect to meet hu at £1/£2?
gliterbabe is one of many pro's on here.
you were very lucky though because he is a truly terrible plo player and i think you should offer to play him again, you will stack him many times(honest)
what do you expect to be playing against at this level ?? try dropping down a few levels and play against people who are as good or preferably worse than yourself. as a wise man once said dont run before you can walk !!

can you teach me to run please every time i try my knees buckle
Top Tip: If you are going to sit HU at this level, always do your homework.
Check out how many other tables they are playing and at what level. Watch them play for a while and take notes. Getting to know players at this level is also important, lets face it, we don't want to jump straight in and find out we are up against Daniel Negreanu now do we? (Never Heard of him either?) Let me remind you Homework.
Being part of TSP (Team Sky Poker) does'nt mean you work for Sky Poker, it just means that you are proficient in playing poker and you have accumulated enough poker points to be able to qualify for TSP as part of the team and play at the Sky Poker Live Events.
There are many players on Sky Poker who have the same or even greater ability as the player you have mentioned but do not wish to take part in the TSP promotion, but believe me, they are just as capable of taking your money as any one of the TSP players are.
Again - Its always best to do a little homework and know your opposition.
I can assure you that there is nothing underhand happening here and you were just very unlucky and a little naive to sit next to a player you yourself have little or no knowledge of, but one who is very formidable and well known to the Sky Poker Community.
In Response to Re: SKY POKER TEAM! : I think so... Imagine his reaction if he'd found out he'd been playing heads-up against a member of Team 51!!! Posted by J-Hartigan
i'm sure we would all gladly play heads up - but its gonna have to be 2p 4p cos we do our homework

Oi !!!!!!!!
At that level we'd be playing with the total team51 bankroll )
Please post more OP, I love this thread, had a rubbish day so this put a massive smile on my face I reckon all TSP players should have their own avatars though... GliterBabe should have a meerkat avatar ljamesl has a pic of the hulk dan deffo needs a pic of a dominos pizza scotty77 should just have a pic of a donkey dunno about the others, inspiration just left me Posted by dylan12
In Response to Re: SKY POKER TEAM! : Jake, You've not been cheated. You're playing a game (HU PLO) at a level (£1/£2) where there aren't many mugs. Most of the people sitting at these tables will be proficient players - and many of them will be pros. For the record, Gliterbabe is both a professional player and a member of Team Sky Poker. No offence to Wayne, or any other member of TSP, but I don't think the latter detail is important. There are many talented pros on this site who aren't (currently) on the TSP roster. Posted by J-Hartigan
HAH GOT GREAT RESPECT FOR U JULIAN,..BUT I WOULDNT CALL THEM MUGS ESPECIALLY WHEN HALF THE HANDS ARE RIGGED UP FOR "ACTION"...PLO IS AT BEST ONE OF THE MONEY GRABS ON THIS SITE.
I DONT DO SO WELL PLAYING CASH IT HAS TO BE SAID. NOTHING WRONG WITH MY GAME JUST THE HANDS I GET INVOLVED WITH...I MEAN IM NOT FOLDING FULLHOUSE OVER FULLHOUSE RIGHT? LOL
AND OP IN YOUR THREAD IF YOUR TRULY WORRIED ABOUT URE OPPOSITION DO THEM A SHARKSCOPE STATS REQUEST WWW.SHARKSCOPE.COM...PUT IN THIER NAME ON SKY AND IT WILL TELL YOU HOW PROFICIENT THEY REALLY ARE....OK OP.
