Welcome Tighty,  and I'm in awe of the amount of work you do everywhere, and still have time for a little poker!

p.s. It's also nice to a music lover on board, I guess Tikay didn't have room for that bit!

GL and enjoy your new challenge!

    Great Tourney.

You would have met Sky Des (though he's not Sky Des on APAT days) & SPT Rich, aka Tighty, from yet another world I inhabit.

I should have been there, too, but I was working, & it's my golden rule - work has to take priority. Luckily, Des & Rich, who are tireless workhorses, understand.

Amazing to think that the folks who run APAT, & APAT Events, do it all on a voluntary basis. None of them get a penny-piece for giving up their weekends. They do get a nice Hotel for the weekend, though. Sometimes. Ask SPT Rich about his luxurious Hotel when APAT went to Vienna.....

Lisa, you've not lived until you play a Tighty SNG. And the thing is, ONLY Tighty can run them. He is the Dealer, &, pretty much, he decides who wins.

You sit there with one, sometimes two, cards stuck to your forehead. Which YOU have not seen - but all the other Players CAN see....

There are a dozen variations in each Tighty SNG, & nobody but SPT Rich can do them properly.

Awesome. It's usually a fiver per SNG, but it's whatever the players want it to be. Except fair.

One variation has the winner of a hand being penalised - the Penalty is double the winning pot!

Slowrolling gets a 500 chip Bonus. A Full-House gets a 1,000 Chip penalty if it's Double-Flop 6 Card Omaha. Or whatever Rules Tighty makes up that day.

I've seen hundreds of them, &, strangely, every single one has been won by a female. Funny, that.

Shetland Isles Man - wow! You coming to the SPT?

For those who are not aware, "Hjaltland" is pronounced "Jones". Honest, it is!

Proper Shetland Islander is Hjalty. Fancy that - living in the Shetlands!

Yes, myself and my good lady are going to be in Manchester and we are both looking forward to it ( we hear you guys have electric lights in your houses on the mainland ).....and auld fella it's "Yatland" lol.
Costing us a fortune but what the heck, my wife got the all clear a week ago for a cancer scare and we are coming to party and have a good time for a long weekend, don't care if i go all in first hand and get bumped...just pleased to be there.

No such place as the Shetlands....Shetland or Shetland Isles.

    Your round TK...see you.

As long as you make sure you pronounce the 'R' when you say it. Could be a bit embarrasing otherwise

HELP guys i am sorry to say we have just been informed that my other half a care manager is going to have to be on call tomorrow as the girl who was on call has gone sick is this going to pose any problems with her playing in the event unfortunate i know but it comes with the territory hopefully she wont receive many calls but i want to know where we stand before we drive for 175 plus miles only to find out she wont be allowed to play. Now i know that whilst we play live a lot including in the LCI clubs etc this is allowed but i am sure you can understand my concern

It's no problem. The only rule is that you can't play a hand whilst on the phone. So if the phone rings, just step away from the table, take the call and don't look, in case its Aces!!
  • edited November 2009
Brilliant thought that would be the case but its a long drive only to assume this and then be told it wasnt thanks looking forward to see you all tomorrow
