Andrew is doing it again. 23k. Tiny steps, but this has been his whole tournament so far; grind, win chips, lose with a big hand, regrind, win more chips, lose with a big hand. No big hands please!!
Meanwhile, Lex Veldhuis has been eliminated by Olivier Busquet, making Peter's table somewhat easier. I mean, I might be tempting fate, but I don't think the replacement for Lex in Seat 4 can be that good. Surely. Please?
We're 20 minutes away from Level 10, which will see the blinds move up to 600/1200/a200. That'd still leave Andrew with a 20BB stack which, while not perfect, still gives him a little bit of wriggle room. Not too much mind.
Ad-Td vs K-Q on a A-Q-x-J turn. All of the money goes in, and the river is a horrible T. He got his money in good, and if the hand holds up he wins a 50k pot. As it turns out, our man is out very deep into Day 2.
A cracking effort by Andrew, I am sure you will agree.
Players are on a break and Peter's strolled in to the room. He doesn't look happy. Claire and I gulp. No need to worry though, he's just being a perfectionist.
Last hand of the level and he picks up J-J. He always seems to be picking up big hands right before breaks. Anyway...
He raises it up from EP and gets two callers, both tricky aggro players. Flop 4-6-Q. Ugh.
Peter checks, MP bets, Button raises, Peter sticks them in the bin. Could be worse though - he's on 95k and is the last man standing for Sky.
Great interview from Seth Palansky who is the Communication Director for the World Series of Poker. Tikay chats to him about this years series, the future plans and the move to Cannes for the WSOP
Peter is still chugging along on 91k. With just over an hour of the last level left and the blinds at a relatively comfortable 600/1200/a200, I am guessing Peter is going to sit tight and just do enough to tread water. Mind you, he does seem to get big hands at the ends of levels. Let's hope it's not the case tonight.
AAAARGH!!! Andrew is out Ad-Td vs K-Q on a A-Q-x-J turn. All of the money goes in, and the river is a horrible T. He got his money in good, and if the hand holds up he wins a 50k pot. In Response to Re: ** Official WSOP Thread: Day 2A - Peter and Andrew ** : Best video so far. Fact. Did Tikay ask any questions in it BTW? Posted by MAXALLY
Peter is creeping up towards 100k. I'm really impressed by the resilience of both Andrew and Peter - the amount of knocks they've taken and the way they both dusted themselves off and got back to the grind is a skill I don't think can be underestimated.
TY for still leaving messages throughout Dave, can't be easy to write and have no responses but I love reading them in the morning to get an insight of what they have been through!

especially when sum plonker wakes me up an hour before JK starts.

No worries - glad you're enjoying them. To be honest, it's actually fine. It would be a bit harsh to expect most of you to sit up all night
Players are finished for the night and Peter's strolled in to the room. He doesn't look happy. Claire and I gulp. No need to worry though, he's just being a perfectionist.
Last hand of the level and he picks up K-K. He always seems to be picking up big hands right before breaks. Anyway...
He raises it up from gets action from one player. Flop comes A-T-4
Peter checks, Villain bets, Peter sticks them in the bin. Could be worse though - he's on 97k and is the last man standing for Sky.
PETER THROUGH TO DAY 3 WITH 97k - WELL PLAYED SIR!
So, Day 2A has come to a close and we've still got one man in the running. Kimpet is flying the Sky Poker flag in to Day 3, with a stack of just under 100k to play with.
Andrew had a tough day and unfortunately he couldn't quite beat the deck. He was grinding his way up after ever beat, only to be undone when a big hand would be cracked. While the disappointment of going out will take a day or two to subside, I really think Andrew can be proud of the way he hung on in there despite the cold decks.
So, we've got two rest days effectively. Beaneh will be playing Day 2B, so you might want to add him on Twitter: titaniumbean is his alias and he'll be posting chip counts and possibly x-rated tiltage via that medium. Squint if it gets a bit rude. Best of luck to him of course and we hope he'll join Peter in Day 3, which will be on Thursday.
Good night from Las Vegas. We'll see you on Thursday evening your time for some more WSOP drama courtesy of Kimpet.

Peter - 90k
Andrew - 23k
Solid effort from both chaps, come what may...

His tight image gets respect, with just one caller. Flop comes K-8-4. Must be nice.
"I put out a little bet, a bit weak like..." 5k. Villain calls.
Turn is a T. Pete leads out for 17k and that makes the Brazilian run away.
K-8, eh? He's been watching Nitterbabe on the UK Cash Game.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday...

Day 3 beckons.

this event has been yet another step forward towards skypoker's Hall of Fame
