As for the flouncing off thing, lets face it, no team has the spirit we have. Some may jump ship, but they never achieve the success they have had when they were on this team.
I would like to say that since I was invited to join TPT, I have had lots of laughs, which it is all about, and lots of success(mainly due to my luckbox according to Scorps).
Mr B will testify that we all help each other and see each other through the dark periods, in poker, and in life in general.
What I most like about TPT is the cameraderie. Nice people, good players, and lots of support.
So basically what I'm saying is your stuck with me, although Trev may want to give me a free transfer after my DTD performance on Monday(Not my fault skip, Scorps dented my luckbox)
PS. Can we get Waller back, I was on hols when he left, and don't know what happened.
Just popped in to wish you all luck on the tables today as i`m not sure if i`ll be around tonite.
I am off to London in a couple hrs blooming hospital again though it`s nothing to worry about as most of know i`m a heamophilia so it`s just a routine jobby, blood test ( if my veins comes out hiding) ect.
I will also find out if i need to see a specialist about the old back as last time a scan showed that i had a slight slipped disc, with luck the excersise has popped it back in, if not could mean a minor op, never mind.
It`s more of the travelling that knackers me out so if don`t see on tables good luck all.
Although i do hope to be back in time try and sat into main event, we`ll see ???

Last night I had a bit of a shock in the mini. About 20 mins in and I get pocket jacks and this happens. To say I was surprised by the call when I saw their hand is an understatement. The player concerned is a well known name on here and even went to Vegas with Sky a couple off years ago and did rather well. Just shows you there are fish at all levels.
All the best sporn hope it all goes well.About that hand dagg,suppose he,s not putting you on a 2 otherwise you aint shoving, he,s got an 8 so the chances you aint 88 so he is putting you on AK AQ AJ and your just shoving to win hand.But it,s more likely it,s only a cheap buy in,to some people,and he,s the kind of guy who calls with anything and if he hits flop he will call a shove regardless i get it all day in sng.I raise with a big pair always get a caller and then i shove on flop as i know if they have hit any part of flop they will call.Remember most of the times you will win the guy just got lucky.What i,m saying you played the hand in the right way, he didnt but got lucky.Gl at the tables guys.

Well that was waste of time 3&half hour round trip for 20 mins appointment, i could have told over phone everything was fine apart from back and the blood test i could have had done at my local hospital, with them sending results through, oh well next oppointment in 2 months to see specialist about back,

Let me explain this hand as it's something that is becoming more common.
Here Goes:
The blinds are only 15/30 - You raise 8 x BB = 240. If you raise this much, it gives information about your holding cards and is very similar to shoving pre-flop. If a player shoves pre-flop it can tell us a couple of things about his hand.....
1: He has the nuts AA or even KK, QQ
or
2: He has a low to mid pocket pair in which case he doesn't want a caller, so either shoves or over inflates the raise pre-flop.
But in both cases we have narrowed the oppo down to a pocket pair. Now armed with this information, a good solid player will call with any 2 - WHY? you may ask. Well we now know oppo has a pair Low/Mid or High, its still only a pair, which means he really only has (2 outs) or 2 chances of improving his hand, whereas we have a much bigger chance of improving our holding cards even with any 2.
It makes it much easier for our oppo to call our inflated raise or shove with any 2 cards because, we have armed him with the information that we have a pocket pair. So to address the problem, we need to make sure we don't give this information away, so don't over inflate the raise, 3-4 x BB is usually sufficiant in most cases. Anything more than that and we might aswell turn our cards face up. (Although there are exceptions to this rule)
It's frustrating, but I too have called with any 2 if I have narrowed the oppo down to a pocket pair. He is never going to get that lucky all the time, but when he or I do, the return is going to be massive. especially if it comes down all low cards on the flop.

On a serious point Trevor weren't you advocating not too long ago that pre flop raises need to be bigger than 2 or 3X in the early stages so that we don't get too many callers? Do things change that quickly in the poker world or is bet sizing totally hand dependant? Sorry for all the questions but things like this cropping up can only help to improve a players game.
