Hi K8. The moment you get yourself personally involved with these types of players, the BIGGER mistakes you are likely to make.
You clearly jammed over the top, just because of your perseption of this players tables image. OK OK, A9 you could have been ahead, you could also have been a MILE behind, but c'mon, you knew he was a car crash player waiting to happen.
In the grand scheme of things.......WHEN oh WHEN would you EVER shove over the top with A9 against any of the regs? (Unless u thought you could steal) however, on this occasion, you made your desision based on the fact that you knew your opponent would likely call and you were just hoping you would stay ahead?
Complain all you like, but if you don't stick to the basics, even against these types of players....how are we ever going to compete against more competant players?.
Sorry if this seems a bit blunt, but you are a quality player and until someone tells you this type of play is one of the most basic mistakes. then we will never be able to address the problem.
You know you are better than this - Don't let player emotions get involved (let the fish be fish)
I really hope you take my advice on board in the positive mannor in which I intended - we both know that as soon as you single out a player for a personal vendetta, then you are not playing optimal poker.
Best of Luck K8 - I offer this advice with the best intentions

No probs m8 - I've been there and I know it can hurt in the long run.
Disassociation - I know its a big word - but a very small adjustment
Couple of small finals nothing to brag about but i had a solid session on the cash tables, sat down with 30 quid at the 15p 30p levels and made a nice return of 124, aint played cash in a while so it was nice to have a good session. Made 3 finals tonight and played absolutly terrible on all 3,

It generally means......."Not Connected" or to "Disconnect" yourself
So I am basically saying, we should play poker with no emotion or connection to the other players at the table. The moment we let another players decision infuence ours, then we will generally make mistakes that we wouldn't otherwise make.

There's a mentality running throught this site now that players will call any raise or shove with literally any 2 suited cards. Somehow they think any suited cards are the bees knees. It's dragging down the standard of poker on this site something rotten. No wonder Sky Poker has such a terrible reputation.
Edited to say: Just seen Trevs reply. Totally spot on. I try and stay out of their way now until I have an absolute monster. Then I hit them hard.
sry fj vul m8 nice cashes steel k8 , k8 u must b doin something right because u post your cashes every day wp m8 but as u know once we commit all our chips its in the lap of the gods ppl will call with anything weather its right or wrong but thats poker m8 10% skill 90% luk even if u wait 4 aces pre then push and they call how far am we in front u need a massage b4 u start playin 2 calm u down lolol gl m8
i'm happier with your play, but you have to realise that it is high variance and 40% of the time you will lose, but the rest you will have a monster stack. ie only do it expecting the worse and without a second thought if it goes against you. if it will tilt you then play trev's style instead.
cheers for the advice guys.... the way i think of it is i am commiting my stack hoping this guy will fold but if he does call alot of the time he will call with a2a3a4a5a6a7a8 which i am dominating even k9 also a serial button raiser will fold alot of the time which when he does im happy to scoop the pot,i would never make this play thinking there is no chance he will call with worse, its not very often againt this type of player im behind, obv sometimes he is going to have me in horrible shape but i think poker is about getting it in good the majority of the time and hoping it holds and if i can get him to call with a worse hand 60 to 65 percent of the time i will make money in the long run.... i really do agree with what trev said about it getting personal that really really needs to stop cheers anyways guyl gl tnite !!!!
Nice to read your posts re all your wins. I have played the worst poker of my life this week - think I'm concentrating too much on the training videos and forgetting my "normal" game. Going to switch off youtube now and try to remember just to sit on my hands more instead of calling every hand for a view of flop.

Dagg, even monsters do not scare them, i've been on a the bad-end of these for weeks now. Last night was the first (minor) profit in ages, tho' not been playing very many nights on sky. Did well in a few DYM's, there are not so many maniacs (any 2) as in MTT's.
EDIT: I think the amount of BH MTT's on this site is defining the overall general style of play.
Good start to today, heres hoping it continues.

I agree it doesn't scare them but at least I'm giving myself a better chance of winning the hand. By the way I wasn't particularly referring to Bounty Hunters as I rarely play them. I'm still a deepstack player and now the 25 Guaranteed rebuy seems to be a regular for me now. And I have to say the standard of play in that tourney is pretty solid. Shame the field is always so small.
And having said that about Bounty Hunters I've satted into the Semi at 6p.m. for the 8K BH.
