TK I would support this tourney but can not due to my bankroll. Once I am working again I will play this at least once a week or so. Dave

p.s. The £10 idea I would support. I noticed the 7pm deepies that I have gone quite deep in (last 15) do descend into a shove fest. So yes £10 one has my backing

As I've said on another thread, the 19:30 Deepie is too expensive.   It needs to be £10 or less.   It also needs to be 10 seater IMO (maybe it already is?) Tikay can you elucidate the structure of the 19:30 Deepie? This highlights some issues: How can we see a tournament structure & seats per table before we decide to sign up? The description usually only shows the starting stacks & blind levels. All the best.

Sky Poker changed it to 10 Seater a few weeks ago, & there was uproar - almost every player demanded it be revert to a 6 Seater - so it did.

Personally, I'm not fussed either way. Sometimes we have to give a little to get a little, but sadly, some folks demand it "just so", failing which they get all uppity. So I don't mind if it is 6 Seater or 10 Seater, but I think it will remain 6 handed for the near-term.

    brilliant torney guys
I will be back playing it asap, been grinding away alot in the d/ups
but its deffo the best game on this site
hopefully could get people back like meself, nutter, phil12, flash etc
all of whom where playing it  a while ago
I know some of us (esp nutter) can make maybe more playing other things
but unless we get behind this torney, its never gunna grow to where the prize money
would be big, I too prefer it as a £22 torney and after this week (busy working alot)
will hopefully be playing this more. come on guys lets get behind it before we lose it

    ps, great thread TK

    That is a GREAT question!

I only know the 7pm & 7.30pm ones have different structures because I play them in parallel, & can see the Blinds in one going up much faster than in the other. In the 7pm, "push-time" arrives 2 or 3 Tables out. In the 7.30, I can Final as Billy Low-Stack (& usually do), & still have plenty of play.

But the second part of your question is a purler - & spot on.

You are 100% correct - there should be somewhere in the Lobby where we can see the Structure, how many seats per Table, distribution (in % Terms)) of the Prize Pool, etc. It's a bad omission, & one that needs to be rectified quickly.

    And it will be......

The next major Upgrade - in just over a month, I think (though I never trust IT peeps when it comes to keeping to timetables) - & that Upgrade, which will totally & wholly revamp the Lobby, will include all that.

    Glad you raised that!

For a decent prize fund I think it should stay at £22, however I can seesome people this is outwith their bankroll so maybe sme qualifiers to get into it (i'm not sure if there are already qualifiers for it) but i think hat would boost the amount of people who play in it. Personally I haven't had the chance to take part yet due to having a moody mises lol(if i dont pay her atention for more than 3 hours then well you know the score lol) but I will definately enjoy tking part in hse due to the more skill element than the all just get your chips in stuff

If it is kept at £22 how about the winner also gets a seat to the Sunday 2k deepy? May encourage more entries. Just a thought that I am sure could be tinkered with.

like the sound of the qualifying idea CHRISBHOY.£4.40 + 0.40 sound about right?
  • edited October 2009
yah i agree dav so you get 1 in 5 qualifiers!. I thnk it would appea t people as they would see th increase in players andincrese in money at end. You would even get loads of great hans to show on channel865 too
for some reason I have a good record in thee qualifiers but rubbish in the real thing lol.
But since I have just started to play these tournamentson ky now I havepenty time to get there! though i id well in 1 of the bounty hunters i qualified for but i'll ge there  day!!!

*****  Guy this is an idea from my forum thread 'MTT tab for deepstacks' ****** may help?
    Hey,
I think there should be a sub tab of 'deep stacks' in the MTT area. This will help our players find these gems with ease. As you actually can not find the 15 min past the hour deepstacks unless you click the MTT main tab, not it's sub divisions.
This simple suggestion may result in an increase in the number of players taking part in all of our deepstacks.
    Any thoughts?

.Hi Guys .. TK   this idea  might help....OK 22quid is what in $30is(don't know)  Most other sites are play's  in $'s .......Now great here we play in real money but  it  also feels more  when its real ....
My Idea would be to have the DAILY 7 30 event  10 quid  with a Friday game of 30 quid..What with the economics as they are ..
Players would maybe love a slightly bigger game  on Friday but  during the week  a 10 quid  nightly is plenty to have to fork out for .. This  is just my opinion on what would appeal to me ..
Cos if you also add into the equation some people like the TV event's 11 - 20 quid a night ..then most people cant budget for both which may end up costing 35 -45 quid a night..
Poker is all about  ....   'TheMath"  :))  ..glk mate Benny

In Response to Nobody to blame but ourselves.......:
Many of us think that the best scheduled Daily Tourney on Sky Poker is the £400 Guaranteed, £22 7.30pm Deepie. I certainly do, & it's one Tourney I expect to Cash in more nights than not. Last night, it mustered a mere 15 runners. So now, the Guarantee has been dropped to £300. We really can't blame Sky Poker for this. The Guarantee was £500 at one time, then £400, now £300. Meanwhile, the rapid structured 9pm Biggies continue to attract maximum capacity fields more nights than not. Who can blame Sky Poker for concentrating on Tourneys which attract as many as 700 Runners, when our 7.30 Deepie only garners two dozen at best most nights? If we don't support this Tourney, it will get cancelled. It's that simple.

hi tk,in my opinion i think the reason the rapid structured games have the big turnout is quite simply the prize money...if you can donk ya way to 2k in three hours (in my case at least) why sit four 4/5 hours in the hope of winning £200?.
i prefer "real poker" especially live but (and i know this is a fault in my game)
i much prefer a faster bigger money game online.
i think if sky took a chance a offered a big prize deepstack tourny it would take off,say 5k guaranteed? oviously it could not be the tv game but maybe highlights could be shown on a certain night?

    cheers dave....

i did play the 22 ds for a while and like tkay says good people good poker, bank roll got hit hard over a couple of weeks, so unable to play(wife wouldnt be happy, she says kids food and nappies more important mmmmm). do play the 7pm ds during week 3.30, 5.50, but standard of playmuch worse, same old problem more players=more bad players. cheaper tournys =worse players. do like the idea of having a biggy on weekend once a week but again bit steep. suppose what i am saying is i aint good enough to bankroll the tournys i want to play in, so ill get off the forum and put my nose in a book and get better x

I love the tourney as it is. Please don't change it to £10. The £10 7pm deepies still only attract 40 odd runners. The prize structure needs to stay as it is with all final tablers getting something - as I feel that's a major hinderence with the numbers being so few in the 'biggie' on Sunday's.  I'm not sure how sky could gain more interest in these? Could a Friday big tourney be a £33 deepie starting at 8 be a possible suggestion as there is no longer a TV hinderence due to no show on a Friday. It could then have a ton of satelittes into it (like Primo does) and be advertised at the top of the screen.

Like your idea Phil but think it would be better to make the primo a 'deepy' once a month.  This turney is already popular so you would be gauranteed support and once people have a taste we might get more numbers for the regular deep stack.

Again although reducing the buyin to £10 would attract more players I dont think it would attract enough to increase the prize pool overall. Maybe reducing it to £16.50 would be worth a try.

Either way I will continue to play in this turney night in night out.  Like Scotty I would probably make more money on the cash tables but feel that my game in general, benefits greatly from playing is this turney.
