Saturday night MasterCash with Anna Fowler and my 'tv husband' Carlo Citrone!!

edited September 2011 in Poker Chat
Afternoon all,

How are you??  Looking forward to some cash action, Top of the Pots AND some SPTfinal coverage!!  Perfect Saturday night in I reckon!

We will be live on your screens this evening from 9pm, and I would love to have you get involved as usual on here or..
skyopen@bskyb.com.

We will have an educational topic tonight...Bet Sizing.
How much does playing cash and the importance of bet sizing help with your tournamnet play?  Also how do you improve your knowledge of bet sizing? Be the analyst!!!!

A quick one.. if you fancy..
Rang my mum today for the best part of 3 hours (2hrs59mins of me saying mmm, oh really, mmm)... with that in mind...

Things that you know you should do, but you put off for as long as  possible!!! (if you happen to be reading this mama, it is all just in aid of forum posts!)

I also like to put off buying Christmas Presents, the dentist, having my hair cut, cleaning the bathroom, getting another year older (so much so I was born on a leap year, I am offically only 7 3/4)

Love to hear from you all later and GL on the tables tonight
see you soon,

A xx

I think tbh that cash kills my mtt game. If im playing one or the other i teand to need a few days when switching again.

However on the topic of bet sizing i find that because i play micro stakes cash, its just bet huge. I think this is why its difficult to play micro stakes cash and mtts.

What do i put off that i really should do, tidying.

I find cash and tournament play quite different.  With cash there is never any urgency but as a tournament progresses you need to make things happen yourself, regardless of cards.

    Bet Sizing

I find hitting the 3/4 pot bet usually works for me in most situations.

Things that you know you should do, but you put off for as long as  possible!!!

    I'll answer this later.

Hope you are recovered from the SPT weekend and if not have a box of tissues on standby?

    He's on this coming Thursday.

What do I put off until tomorrow ?

Everything, i'm always saying to myself i'll do that tomorrow, then tomorrow comes and i'll say the same thing.

The trouble with this is I work for myself, so I have to keep giving myself a slap round the chops to actually get on with things.

How much does playing cash and the importance of bet sizing help with your tournamnet play?

I think bet-sizing preflop is very different in tournament play than in cash because your raise sizes in tournaments tend to get lower and lower throughout the tourney as you're still blinds more and more often. But cash has definitely helped my bet sizing post flop in terms of getting maximum value out of my big hands.

    Bet Sizing

Improve your knowledge of bet sizing by watching channel 865 of course... But seriously, I have learnt an enormous amount from watching the hands on Sky and the analysis from the likes of Carlo, Ed, Trev and possibly Tikay. One point on bet sizing: many people make their c-bets too small and it isn't enough to get the job done then they find themselves in a tricky spot on the turn.

Things that you know you should do, but you put off for as long as  possible!!!

I put most things off til the last minute. I always put off anything to do my car (repairs etc), I tend to just ignore it until one my day my car will just completely stop working and then I HAVE to do something. This is probably because I'm tight! lol

Hopefully by the time you read this out, I'll still be in the Survivor Final (which I won entry for on the Sunday for £1 - brag) so wish me luck!

Cash poker should help everyone with the early stages of tournies.  In a tournie with a long clock and a slow structure, the first 3/4 levels will be playing very deep and will have the feel to a cash game.

Any MTT player who plays cash and actually takes an interest will learn a great deal about playing down the streets, something that is rare to happen in MTT poker after the first few levels as stacks are so shallow that usually you hvae to make your all in or fold decision on the flop.

Also, excellent stuff with how you owned Simmy at the SPT Anna.  Amazing scenes and something that you can be proud of :):)

I dunno if you do hand requests but if so could you please show my exit hand from the Survivor tonight because I'd really like to get some feedback from Carlo about it...

    Hand No: 415302952

    Bit of background:
Maybe I shouldn't have been thinking this deep but basically I'd been playing pretty solid tight poker up to this point but hadn't really hit anything so I'd been taken off a few pots quite cheaply because I was sticking to playing straight forward poker (folding to a bet on the flop when I don't hit) in the early stages so I think people had an opinion that I was weak and would fold easily, hence I figured ebberdon was re-raising me lighter than normal and thought I was likely to get a fold and if not thought I'd be at worst flipping (with me being the slight favourite).

Was this a completely horrible play?

A very good evening to you Miss Fowler and your side-kick for tonights show Mr Citrone

Would just like to say very nice meeting you both at DTD, and take this opportunity to say that the Hitsquad welcomes you to its ranks. Also Carlo the offer is still there to become a squaddie.

Just a shame the pool never took off but we will lay in wait, also next round of drinks is on me as I believe Mrs Citrone was a White wine Spritzer

    all the very best

    Enjoying the show as always.

I had a great time at the SPT last week and was good too see you all.  I was suprised I didn't need my sunglasses on when I saw Carlo.  GET THAT TAN TOPPED UP OR WE WON'T RECOGNISE YOU!!!!

For my bet sizing, it all depends for me on my position and my opponents and, of course, my hand.  If I have the nuts and I'm playing an aggressive player I will try a very small bet to try to induce a re raise.  If I don't know much about my opponants then I will stick with half pot raises normally until I can get a read on them.

I hate shaving so only do it once a week when I really should do it more as my head looks and feels like course sandpaper at the moment.  Not a great look.

    Keep up the good work

    Anna

I love that Carlo called you by your old nickname, Cinders.
I still remember the shoe, how could I forget.

Would I be right in saying you also put off buying shoes to the last minute?
