logdon, some of your posts are amusing and some quite clever, you obviously are quite an intellegent woman with some great ideas, ive taken a great deal of pleasure from answering and taking part in your ideas.

BUT, CLIFF ????? LET THIS POST DIE,I WISH I COULD PUSH HIM OVER A CLIFF, HE WAS AN ELVIS TRIBUTE BAND,BEFORE TRIBUTE BANDS WERE THOUGHT OF.

have a listen to a band called RUNRIG,i suggest their album called LONG DISTANCE and the 3rd track one of the most beautiful love songs ever written, all their lyrics are deep and moving, and yes its obvious that ill listen from a long distance comment is available to the silly, inane, uninitiated non music lovers.

So  come up with another post, that others can at least pretend to have an interest in.

    other bands to listen to
THE HOLLIES,they wrote their own songs, and had amazing harmonies.
SIMON AND GARFUNKEL,bridge over troubled water album
MEATLOAF bat out of  h ell
    GERRY RAFERTY,city to city
    ULTRAVOX vienna

I could go on, but you get my drift, there are many bands out there that have better sounds, and lyrics, with far superior arrangements, CLIFFs high point was when he was with the shadows.
you may try to argue the piont but,and its a BIG BUT, cliff is not, and never has been a GREAT in any musical sense.

You don't get to be Sir Cliff Richards for nothing.   I can go on listing his hits and they are all hit records. True Love Ways,  All I ask of you, Dreamin,  Suddenly, A little in Love.  Stop anyone in the street and ask them to name as many records by Cliff and then any of the others you mentioned, I know who would win.  Sorry you don't like him but his songs are as fresh today as they were when he recorded them. He still commands a massive fan base and devotees like me. I to have The Hollies, and Bread,  Elvis.  I spared you all the  free down loads I could have inflicted on you all in my thread,  so area 51 if you want to moan he's a bad beat.  "My Pretty One"   put up a list of your "Bat out of Hell"  Johnny Cash was better. Walk the Line. !!   Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never turn around and desert you.? That's what I think of your selection.   Thank you for the compliment and the put down.!  Dito   Hugs xxx Annie x  :-))

I HAVE BEEN A LIFE LONG FAN OF ROD STEWART FROM HIS EARLY DAYS WITH THE FACES,UP TO THIS PRESENT DAY,I HAVE SEEN HIM IN CONCERT SO MANY TIMES I CANT COUNT HOW MANY TIMES.THE CROWD GOES WILD  FOOTBALLS HE KICKS I EVEN DROVE TO SCOTLAND ONE YEAR TO SEE HIM,HE WAS FANTASTIC.ANY WAY IN THE LATE 80,S A FRIEND ASKED ME TO GO AND SEE CLIFF WITH HER NOT BEING A REAL FAN OF HIS I SAID OK,AND ALONG I WENT THINKING I AM GOING TO BE SO BORED.HOW WRONG WAS I HE  EVEN HAD ME UP SINGING AND SHOUTING HIS NAME THE CROWD WERE JUST THE SAME AS IF I WAS AT A ROD CONCERT.SO THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS UNLESS YOU HAVE SEEN THE PERSON IN CONCERT DONT KNOCK THEM XXX

im pleased that you think so highly of cliff, and if your his biggest fan,you have the right to be.
others are the  biggest fan of other singers/bands.
being able to have hits in 5 different decades is a good achievement.but that is all.
your right in saying that lots of people can name his titles, lol  even i can.
being around for a long time dosnt make you great, ive been going for over 60 years but i wouldnt say im great.
my point is that there are better bands with better lyrics and arrangements.
name me any lyric that cliff sang, that had any depth or meaning.  there are no harmonies with any of his songs other than those created in a studio,as far as live concerts are concerned,he along with many other singers, have" technical" aids. and when he sings solo, he sticks to songs that his fans can sing along to.
The best LIVE band i have ever seen was BON JOVIE,closley followed by GERRY RAFFERTY,
cliff would pale into insifnificance, in front of these bands.the compliments were meant, and in no way was i being patronising,BUT CLIFF IS NOT AND NEVER WILL BE GREAT.

I have actively posted threads in the Shed over the last two years, since players said "The Shed is Dead"  That was because people who were the trailblazers and posters had left Sky and new players were not contributing.!  I try to add to threads started by others and comment on things I know about. Poker strategy is not my forte and bad beats are not for me. Forum members can chose to post on my threads or not, up to them.    I try to be funny and my "I can be serious" Thread covered open ended Questions which attracted many posts.  You can start a Thread of your choice and become an trailblazer if you feel my contribution is boring.  gl   Hugs Annie x
