Inspired by the DYM streak challenge from a while ago, we had an idea...

    SUGGEST A CHALLENGE!

So please post on this thread for your idea of what a good challenge could be for players at Sky Poker. We will pick our favourite suggestion (by Friday 20th) and the person who made that suggestion will get a Thews @ Ten seat.

Then the first person to complete that challenge (after we have announced it!) will get a £33 Sky Sports BH seat!

Please make sure your suggestion is trackable (so it can be proved) and most importantly, possible! It needs to be tough but not too tough.

    Suggest away....

Consecutive HU HYPERCHARGED STT wins ;)

I reckon 12 would be a good target. Do-able, but not too easy.

Maybe 10 or 11 if you want it to be completed within a few days.

HU challenge like the DYMs statr at the lowest level and move up with each win:
No restrictions on being hyper or omaha or pot limit but no russian roulette or 4 ways.
    1st level 55p
    2nd level £1.05
    3rd £2.10
    4th £3.25
    5th £5.25
    6th £10.50
    7th £15.75
8th £26.25 (They may need to put more of them in though as only ever one there)
    9th £42
    10th £52
    11th £105
    12th and finally £210

This can be tracked and is well within every players bankroll as you only stand to lose 55p a go!! If you lose you reset all the way to the bottom your free to drop out any time! And Once you get past the 3rd level if you lose you technically have made a profit as the 2nd and 3rd gap isn't huge and same as the 9th and 10th so you win on many different levels!! :)

First person to get 15 consecutive wins alternating between HU and DYM :)
  • edited April 2012
We've done HU and Hold'em DYM challenges.

How about an Omaha challenge DEL560 would obviously be excluded ;o)

Most consecutive Omaha DYM Games, any stake

Are we allowed to post on our own thread? Oh well, here goes...

How about the first person to finish in the top 20 places of each 8pm main event? i.e. one for each day of the week. There could be a main and mini version too.

Not good if your micro level
Anything that involves all and does not exclude is good
DYM challange through the levels was the best one and worth doing again

I vote for HU hYPERCHARGE!!!!! any level - should be fun and quick to complete )

Problem for those of us who have a life lol, playing every night is a no no for a lot of people who would be interested in this

    Fair point.

Although that said, we weren't suggesting it had to be consecutive nights. You could 'tick them off' over the space of a few weekls. It might take that long anyway?

Who knows we've never done it before.

Aa ROI challenge on timed tournaments.  But exclude any previous results and make sure Richard Orford announces the competition on air.  It will drive him barmy.

Re: LIVE TONIGHT WEDNESDAY 11TH APRIL BETWEEN 7PM AND MIDNIGHT- post the best timed tourney profit and play tomorrow night's Main Event for free!

PS- Can anyone beat my record of 1226%? Yes, I posted that bad boy last week and I truly believe that not only is it an all-time timed tourney website record but it will never be beaten by anyone

    Prove me wrong!

    ;-)

how about winning 2 tournaments in 1 day or 5 back to back  final tables
  • edited April 2012
Whatever it is it must be affordable to ALL bankrolls!
  • edited April 2012
Batkin might be on to something.

I think it definitely needs to be something that suits all bankrolls so all players have a chance to go for it (alot of people can't even afford to play the ME in 7 consecutive nights, let alone cash in it every time).

You are very limited with the challenges when it needs to be tracked and I think Batkin has come up with one as good as it's gonna get.

I like the sound of this, it will get a few more people playing omaha.
I'd recommend a shortish timescale though because once someone does a massive run people seem to lose interest.

Cash in 8 consecutive MTTs (possibly 10), Any level, any format (NLH, PLO or PLO8). Decided by finishing times so can be tracked on Sharkscope. Would take quite a while to do I reckon.

    1) 1st person to win a flip v Solack
    2) 1st person to win an argument v Tikay
    3) 1st person to get banned from posting on this thread :)

    Ok....a serious one,

    Deepstack challenge!

The best ave 3 scores from the 7.45pm £1.10 deepy over 7 days (Mon-Sun). Min of 4, max of 7 games to count.

How about Bounty Hunter week? The player to take the most bounties in one calendar week - can be any buy-in level....

    Bad idea for these reasons;

    1. Anybody who doesn't play on one or more evening per week due to other hobbies/work/out of consideration to family etc. is excluded.

    2. ME/Mini players already have the Jackpot to play for

    3. It wouldn't attract any extra players into the fields or generate any extra rake, in all likelihood the winner will come from a small band of daily ME regulars. A HU or similar event would get loads of extra games running and everybody can join in.

something similar to the hotstreak promo that was on priority a while back for DYMs but available to all and for all BI levels?
  • edited April 2012
As they are still there Monday to Friday how about running a competition using the old "Take on Tikay" games at 8.30 every night. If memory serves me right they are all £2 or £3 buy ins and for people who can't play every night make it the best 3 scores of the week.  Alternatively maybe Sky could add a Saturday/Sunday ToT and make it the best 4 of 7.

I think the most brain melting thing is doing a bunch of MTTs with different rules/playing styles at the same time.
On a wednesday we could do...

    18.50 £250 bountyhunter (£2.30)
    19.00 £100 freeroll (50pts)
    19.05 £200 30min Timed (£3.30)
    19.10 PL Omaha (£3.30)
    19.15 £150 deepstack (£2.20)

Highest cash total wins the challenge

Double survivor challenge? Starting at the £1 level, and reaching the final day twice in a row (surviving for two weeks without going bust)

Fair comments.... maybe stagger it so it's the same Bounty Hunter each week over the course of a month? I know it still attracts predominantly regs, but could still be interesting?
