In Response to Re: Sky Poker Challenge (two prizes!) : Bad idea for these reasons; 1. Anybody who doesn't play on one or more evening per week due to other hobbies/work/out of consideration to family etc. is excluded. 2. ME/Mini players already have the Jackpot to play for 3. It wouldn't attract any extra players into the fields or generate any extra rake, in all likelihood the winner will come from a small band of daily ME regulars. A HU or similar event would get loads of extra games running and everybody can join in.

Hypers are relatively new to the site, I bet some players don't even know they are there.

They've been v successful (I assume, from how many seem to run when I look) but the player pool is quite small still.

Get some new blood playing them!

They are vvvv addictive to new players, loads will become hooked! They just need to try them.....

They must generate you guys a fortune in rake too. No brainer for yaz! ;)

Another bounty hunter suggestion, first player to take 100 head prizes, any level so suitable for all bank rolls.

How about... First to 50 pints @ SPT Cardiff?

how about a climb the ladder competion over one week.
     the ladder as 100 rungs.
make the first game a mtt of lets say 3.30 the top 100 go though to night 2.
game 2 the ladder becomes 75 rungs. game 3 50 rungs. game 4 25 rungs.
game 5 as a twist anyone can buy in for 20 quid but must finish in the top six to play the final, for the rest of the field they have to finish in the top 15.

A omaha  survivor would be very good as most people
like omaha and would also be a good chance for new people to learn
without breaking their bankrolls. Not seen this anywhere else and
that if sky are prepared to advertise this then it may well be successful.

HYPERCHARGED HU challenge would be good....how many consecutive ones you can win in a row over a set perod of time, regardless of buy-in, so that players of all bankrolls can paprticpate?

It would no doubt generate a large rake for Sky so perhaps they could provide the winner of the challenge the £33 BH seat but offer mini bounty hunter seats to anyone who managed to reach double figures? I seem to remember similar challenges organised by IrishRover and there weren't that many who reached the magic 10?

It could be easily tracked by Sky and there would probably be someone good enough to create a league table so everyone can see how well/badly they are doing compared to everyone else!

The difficulty about suggestions which require people to play every night is that it would exclude a lot of people who simply havent got the time to or availability to do that.

What about satellite navigation that always sends you in the right direction?
qualify from micro to main events £12k BH, Primo, & VLV sunday semi
in consecutive tourneys to take down the prize
The more that take part the more places available!
  • edited April 2012
How about running a few challenges that encompass different bankrolls that cover all forms of the game. Much better than just one challenge covering dyms or something :)
  • edited April 2012

ok my idea proberly stupid but here it goes

how about a week of tournys you carnt buy into

the only way in is by sat

so loads of cheap sats to suit all bank rolls

you could run any tourny on the end of these sats

just away off involving the whole site and allowing all bankrolls to play a level field as no direct buy in

Aa ROI challenge on timed tournaments.  But exclude any previous results and make sure Richard Orford announces the competition on air.  It will drive him barmy. Re: LIVE TONIGHT WEDNESDAY 11TH APRIL BETWEEN 7PM AND MIDNIGHT- post the best timed tourney profit and play tomorrow night's Main Event for free! posted at 11/4/2012 1:33 PM BST on SkyPoker.com   RICHORFORD Posts: 3725 First: 23/5/2009 Last: 18/4/2012 PS- Can anyone beat my record of 1226% ? Yes, I posted that bad boy last week and I truly believe that not only is it an all-time timed tourney website record but it will never be beaten by anyone .  Prove me wrong! ;-)

    What he said.

1226% ROI in ANY timed tourney. 'twill never be beaten. Fact.

How about Bounty Hunter week? The player to take the most bounties in one calendar week - can be any buy-in level....

I'd just like to congratulate aussie09 for winning this promotion in advance.

    "Mug A Mod"
Assign a wide range of tournaments at different tariffs where any combination of Mods take part then award a prize to the player who eliminates the most Mods

I would like to stress that waiting for Machka outside the main doors at Cardiff SPT would not qualify for the prize!

    Or would it?

Tikay asked me to post this...
"I would like to suggest a prize to the first poster who posts a grammatically/syntactically correct post, or heaven forbid one us "down with the kids peeps" can understand!  Sort it out SKY - In your eye! Know what I'm saying?"

I told TK I'd post it but did warn him that he was wasting his time!

The low stakes buy ins already have DTD prizes just do a challenge for the high stakes MTT players please maybe ten consequitive cashes in £50+ buy-in MTT tournaments.
  • edited April 2012
    Ok here's my suggestion.

A series of STT mixed games that need to be completed in ANY order but if you lose any you start again

    0.55p DYM
    £1 Russian Roulette
    £2 Omaha 6 seater
    £1 Turbo HU
    £2 6 seater Scary
    £2 4 Player HU

You need to CASH in all of them to qualify

mr solacking.   it is for all the site...  not for the few... for the many.

not all ppl have your roll.. even ppl who do..  might choose not to play in it for only a 33 quid thursday night donk fest seat

the dym challenge was very good. it suited all rolls...   ..

as for multi tournys.. did we not just have one of them called the all rounder...

the hu...   de we not just have one of them...

it is difficult to find a tourny or tournys or game to suit everyone...

there is one thing it should be..

IT SHOUD BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR ALL BANKROLLS

how about 1st person to win 2 freerolls in any given day,
or a special freeroll tourny every night over a week period, best 3 scores from 7 wins.

suits all bankrolls as free, and gets rid of those poker points.

    Keep the ideas coming!

  • edited April 2012
Yes, I think it's been agreed that it needs to suit all bankrolls. These are just my opinions obviously, but I don't think it should be Bounty Hunter related; A) because we've just had a very similar competition for BHs at Easter and B) because they're already taking over Sky.... it was only when someone posted up a thread recently askign people to vote what was the best ME that I realised that half the week is now BHs (yes I know they're popular, but not with everyone)

The Omaha ideas aint bad but there's alot of people who just haven't got a clue about it so just won't bother or will just be throwing money away.

Cash is really out of the question as it can't be tracked and MTTs are probably too high variance for alot of people's BRs in terms of having to play TONS of them to try and win, so it basically leaves SnGs of some sort.

When I played on a different site before Sky they had a permanent competition/jackpot where it was a $2.20 SnG with 12 runners and, think it was like $12 for 1st, $7 for 2nd and $3.50 for 3rd, but the jackpot was that if you won 4 in a row you got $2000. I did come 1st 3 times in a row, then came 3rd...was gutted.

Anyway my point is, why don't you spawn more of the 10man SnGs and have a competition where you have to win 3 or 4 in a row. It's perfectly do-able, fairly low variance, good for all bankrolls, you can still be breaking even or making profit while attempting to do it and it would sort out the issue of them running. I used to try to play the 10 man SnGs and you can generally register and wait 20+ mins with no sign of it starting to run. Maybe stick the 10man games at the top of the lobby to raise people's awareness.

Might be here a while for 10..

I like consecutive cashes in the 8pm tourn though. 4/5 consecutive would be impressive. Also satellites run for these tournies so any BR can satellite in and if they cash use it to buy in direct the next one they play.

its not a challenge more of a tourney idea

run weekly with the final every sunday evening

mtt sat's run every hour monday -sunday, 1 in 5 make final £3.60+36p
                                       1 in 10 £1.80+18p

stt in lobby at all times  monday-sunday,1 in 6 make final £3+30p

all winner through to sunday's final

    no direct buy-in

How about a bankroll challenge over a specific period.

Eveyone starts with the same starting bankroll.

Certain tables would be set aside for this, similar to the TV tables.

These tables could be cash, DYM and some stt and tournaments.

Keep everyone in the same boat drinking from the same cup and eating the same bread
