hi rich, I'd like to pick the brains of your two guests please re tournament poker, and what style they think is the best way to progress in the current climate. It seems like players like Elky & Thewy like to employ a hard hitting lag style as opposed to the tikay slowly slowly catch a monkey way of poker.
for example, I just had a quick read of Julian's sky blog and saw he was getting it in with 30 bb's ....quote hand :- "With starting stacks now at 20k in the ME I just played way too nitty in the early levels & as a consequence wasn't able to get much going ...lazy, autopilot poker; just about the worst combo. I went out to the eventual winner at the 200/400 level when I 4b jammed 12k with A-Js v into K-K"
There are a good number of these sort of hands Julian mentions, and Tikay would probably say well 12k stack is still a good playable stack, and maybe fold to a 3 bet, but I just get the impression that to win in the modern game one needs to employ a more lag style of play.
Would Jen and Kevin help me with this please, as I do tend to be more tikay than Julian, and hence never really get a super deep stack to play aggressively with (ie 3bet,4 bet etc stack).
Then maybe I can employ their advice in next weeks 12k bounty!
how can you comment that greg robbed the company, surely this is you, when they enter u into spt expecting some impossible task such as a return on their money.
Hi Folks I'd like to know how Kevin picked his online name and if he has picked an avatar to represent himself. I tried to pick out one for ,yself the other day which wasn't the regular ones around the tables. I picked a pic of a supernova which is of a very large object blowing up. how apt, i thought. You don't fancy borrowing it do you Rich(The sixty minute man as you can be referred to by Tikay etc from now on.
Sorry mate, but i know you can it. Maybe you'll be able to ride into Jerusalem on your donkey one day just after you win an spt event......
SPT Cardiff was a good weekend, came 14th out of 160ish on the friday night, 2 off the money, but won the last longer i had with Jamie Richards(ricoramb03) for who got the double bed in our hotel. Got to Les Croups on saturday with a massive hangover to find out i was on Jen and Julian's table(hows your luck?) Then donked out after about an hour with a all-in bluff with AK against trip 7's. Made it home in time to see the final table on the live stream. Congrats to Jen and to Lee Strange for the final table.
Just a bit of advice for your future analyse my play shows
If they are going to be analysing your hands you would prob be better off playing on a mastercash table because the show lasts 1 hour and judging by your spt and bounty hunter performances you obvi dont mate

Hi Kev, congrats to Jen and commiserations to Rich.
As an ex maths teacher it interested me to know you enjoyed the maths side of poker so it's test time Kevin...
1. What is the probability of picking AA and meeting KK?(easy one to start) 2. What is probability of having flush and meeting higher flush at table(2 cards the same for each player's hands. 3. What is the most unlikely (mathematical) occurance you've personally seen at a table you've played?
Rich Orford realizes that once again he is the biggest donkey at the table.
Or...
Despite the tournament director explaining it several times, it seems that Orford could not grasp the the fact that to make a bet he would actually have to have some chips.
Although everybody at the table agreed Richard played like a donkey, they disgreed on the question of scale when he tried to prove he was hung like one.
Richard who do u want as the new West Brom manager? I switched over to your colleagues on SkySports, briefly, (honest), and they say the FA has approached him.

Question. Do your Guests feel there is merit in late stages to just playing your blinds and letting others take each other out.
Caption, Rich as a young boy was disappointed when his Dad said, he had bought him a Little Pony. !
