How many poker players does it take to change a lightbulb? See what you can with that! Posted by RICHORFORD
Six.

One to go out and buy a lightbulb
One to not be bluffing and actually buy a lightbulb
One to stop the degen with a lightbulb from taking it to the casino and attaching it to the slot machines
One to set up a ladder, and another to explain why laddering is bad
And one to change the lightbulb itself.

    Ahoy there!

Oh no, I’ve started off on a nautical theme and now will feel obliged to see it through...

So, it’s all aboard the good ship Sky Poker TV tonight with your Admiral of the Fleet Richard Orford and your poop deck cabin boy Tony Tikay Kendall.

We set sail at 1900 hours and will be chartering a course of poker chat and hand analysis.

Here’s what it says on the map...

7pm – Tonight on Sky Poker

    -          What’s coming up on the site over the night

    -          Following live the TV cash tables

    8pm – Ask the Expert

    -          Have your hands analysed by Tikay  by sending in your hand IDs and get your burning questions into the man on any subject under the sun.

    9pm – Sky Poker School

    -          We’ll look at the subject of ‘calling all-in bets’

    10pm – Chat Box

Tonight’s subjects will be posted below this OP

    11pm – Master Cash

    -          Looking at the live action from the TV cash tables moments after they happen

We’d love your input as ever so please post your comments and get your hand i.d. numbers from the TV tables into us so we can fill the show...with you!
Very sad news this week at the passing of forum favourite AceBarry who since the very beginning of Sky Poker TV has watched the channel and contributed to the live shows almost every night. Tikay and I will be sure to offer up some words of tribute to the man who was liked by all on the site. As ever, we'll have prizes to give away to the best message contributions tonight.

Two seats into Thursday night's Sky Sports Bounty Hunter. 1 for the best overall message and 1 for the best answer to the following question...

How many poker players does it take to change a lightbulb?

See what you can do with that!

So, me hearties! Brace the mainsail and a vast behind (and no, I’m not talking about Tikay’s posterior). See you at 7!

End of shippy puns. That's 'shippy'.

How many poker players does it take to change a lightbulb?

7! One to change it. One to brag about succesffully changing it. Two to say that it's fixed. One to say how unlucky the old buld was, and it was definitely ok right until the end, and two to watch from the rail.

I know you and Tikay well enough to know you'll be mentioning Barry tonight. All I want to say further is
    ul, gg, nh.

    One to change the lightbulb.
Fifteen to relate 'bad lightbulb beats'.
Three to tell the fifteen to shut up, and that bad lightbulb beats are a part of the lightbulb game.
Six to calculate the odds of changing the lightbulb succesfully given the number of lightswitches available.
Two to correct the calculations on the basis that some of the lightswitches are in parralell.
Five to act out of turn by changing a lightbulb before it had blown.
Two to request a Card Room Manager's decision over the out of turn action.
One to ask for a clock to be put on the person changing the lightbulb.

    Brilliant answers so far!

I think we're on to one with this poker players and lightbulb thing.

I knew you guys would come up with the goods. More please!

well rich to change that light bulb i think it would take six players on the final table all trying to climb the same ladder, all chipping in with moves to get higher five will flop and one will see the light. so at the end of the day it only takes one to reach the top of the ladder and change the bulb.

Can you ask Tikay (or if Tikay sees this) to contact me via fb or pm

    Evening Chaps,

Just thought I'd say congratulations again to TommyD for taking down the VLV for a seat. I'm sure he'll do the Sky community really proud (as will all the other qualifiers).

Changing a light bulb, now I'd say you need at least 6 players cos otherwise they'd be short-handed.... and wouldnt be able to reach ;)

Just sent this little riddle to the squaddies and thought I'd send it on to you both, see if you can flex your brains and figure it out during the show. See if you can get some bragging rights over Tikay Rich ;) ...

There are 2 doors, 1 leads to heaven and 1 leads to hell, both have a guard outside the door. The guard outside the door to hell will always lie, and the guard outside the door to heaven will always tell the truth. Both doors and both guards are identical in appearance.

You can ask 1 of them 1 question (they're identical so you won't know which one you're asking) ... what question do you ask to find out which door is which?

This question is older than Tikay! I first heard it about meeting 2 men at a crossroads, I'm surprised it doesn't now concern two poker players.

If you feel the need, please show my hand from last night's bounty hunter. It's not a bad beat or a brag hand, just incredible.

    516387111

My shove on the flop looks strange, but my opponenet had been aggro all night, and I felt he'd call - especially if he had AK. What happened next beggars belief.

Good answers so far. Lambert, I think I may implode Tikay's brain if I riddle him that.

    So I will.

As for the lightbulb question, if you can all keep them original all the better, but I'll read out everything.

How about "How Many Sky Poker PLayers does it take to take a lightbulb?" as well?

    No moany answers please though!

    For Eyeman's Benefit....

There are 2 doors, 1 leads to a 30p DYM and 1 leads to a seat in the WSOP ME, both have a tournament director outside the door. The tournament director outside the door to the 30p DYM will always lie, and the tournament director outside the door the WSOP ME will always tell the truth. Both doors and tournament directors are identical in appearance.

    You'd need...

1 Dudeskin to be a complete nit and find the cheapest place to buy a lightbulb...
1 Spornybol to groan about bubbling/being beaten to the shop by Dudeskin...
1 ScouseRed to get the job done and fit it.
1 Orford to bust it within 10 mins...
1 Machka to bink it and magically make it start working again...

and 1 Lambert to write about it being done in his diary

is the answer to number of poker players needed to change a lightbulb.... a forum?

as even when it's changed it will be debated for days, half will be witty and half will threaten to leave unless it's changed back.

JUST One Sky Poker player to change a lightbulb.

    Then.......

One Sky Mod to take the lightbulb down again.
Another Sky Poker player to put it up again in a different way.
Ten Sky Poker players then saying how it should of been put up.
Five Sky Poker players complaining of being left in the dark and just leaving the room in a flounce.
Six Sky Poker players then writing it all up in their diaries.
One smart alec Sky Poker player saying the electricity isn't connected anyway.

How many poker players to change a lightbulb ?

None, you can't be missing out on valuable grinding time by going and replacing a lightbulb. Just sit in the dark.

Hi will you be doing a tribute to acebarry tonight?

    Would be nice IMO.

How many poker players does it take to change a light bulb?

    Obviously a trick question!
most poker players have only just mastered the art of turning the lap top on!
Do you honestly think they'd notice the light going out?
Be sensible Richard! once we're playing online who cares about lights? so long as we can see the screen we are at one with the world!
Besides isn't that what they invented wives and girlfriends for? lol

    light bulb.....whats that!
  • edited May 2012

In order to make sure of the answerer to this taxing question, we need to discus the possibilities and the odds in question, are we getting the right odds to go and get the light bulb, we also need to know what turns and rivers we need to cross to go, how many of the member of the tables in question are willing to help, having sat down and working out the completed equation that was put forward, I have come to the resulting answerer of 5 to 1 making 6 in total if you add them tougher that is…. The whole point of this answerer is to confuse and bewilder the reader to make a rash judgement and call me the winner…
