Nick had a bad experience with total player and Ed could not give enough time to it
so what ! Hardly crime of the century is it - maybe you should read the news or something because 6 kids died in a house fire and their parents have been arrested and charged with murder !

seriously though Nick, at the time you should of just complained to SKY about the lack of support you got from Ed - maybe if you did then it may have turned out to be a better experience for you

Nick & I have had our moments, then we have chatted & come to a level of understanding!!
He has the time & talent to improve his Poker, some, like me, DO Not, we are Grinding Jobs & Family in The Real World, and it's a s.hit I tell ya at moment!!
One thing I learned, fighting ma way out of The White City Ghetto, is be nice when you can, respect those around you, give all a chance, then, if forced, if you have to.....Act Firm & fast & Never be beaten!!
Nick IS a great player, maybe lessons can be learned here......for all

Michael Jackson was found not guilty of ALL criminal charges bought against him relating to children. Michael Jackson was LEGALLY innocent of ALL accusations made against him. The law is very clear and concise on the matter of cyber libel. Comments posted on this thread IMO have broken these laws for the following reasons:
1- They have been made on a public forum (To A Third Party) that is moderated. A member of the moderation team have openly posted Before AND After the defamatory posts therefore leaving the reader in no doubt that these views/thoughts are "Ok" and are acceptable to Sky.
2- The statement openly mentioned by name a person (A person to whom there can be little ambiguity) and alluded to situations from that persons past that have been resolved but left the reader with a negative insight bordering on accusations of criminal activity.
3- The statement is defamatory and discredits the persons legacy and seriously damages the reputation of the continued Business/Trademarked Name.
4- The person in question (In my knowledge) never played poker, wrote a wordpress poker based blog OR coached Under 8's Cricket so their inclusion in this post is generally NOT VALID or needed and Sky are leaving themselves open to prosecution for allowing this thread to remain.
As a fan of Mr. Jackson I can only add that this thread has caused me undue distress and upset.
My point of coming on to post is that i actually no ED have done for years since he was playing cricket down the road at hove,plus he went out with my cousin for a bit..NOT ON FACEBOOK ACTUALLY IN REAL LIFE....
have spoken to him about this whole thing, he said that those opinions were not his,although he agreed with a lot of them.He said that nobody went onto that blog on his behalf because quite simply he would of replied himself if he felt the need....I dont think he cares a bit what nick says about him,i mean you guys know him a bit if he had a problem do you really think he would hide behind someone else's profile...NO of course not he would post it himself..

1. Nick is essentially writing a life story of how he went from a complete noob to pro. Would you expect say Paul Gascoigne to write an autobiography and leave out the 'bad bits'. I think it's been included in the blog because he saw it as a major event (not necessarily a good one) in his progression and so must be included.
2. Nick is not writing his diary/blog on the forum, he is merely making it available to people who may not follow him on twitter etc. As with anything, if you don't like it, don't read it. There is nothing at all in Nick's link that would suggest there is anything derogatory in there.
P.S. IDonk, your last few comments and ludicrous lol. I know what ya trying to say, and it's like the old thing people say about 'don't meet your heroes', but sometimes it's just the way it is. I usually get laughed at for this, but Arnold Schwarzenegger is a hero of mine for many reasons. I heard about his house-maid thing, but it didn't take away from the aspects of his character that I really respect.
What a load of old tosh this is. Myself and a number of others had an FB chat with Ed last night. He's a member of a group of players and has been for sometime and expressed his concerns about the fact that the blog was being promoted on the Sky forum and he had no right of reply.
I will say no more on this until I have spoken to Ed. I haven't so far spoken on his behalf (something you appear to be doing Jdog) and wouldn't wish to without his permission.
Suffice to say that Jdogs post is complete made-up tripe.
in my opinion it's a simple problem.
pryce6, nick, has his opinion of things yet never questions whether what he says or writes is anything but the truth. nick might truthfully believe his opinion is always correct, however that alone doesn't make it so. unfortunately for nick rather than gaining credit for being truthful his assertions sometimes act to undermine him.
his comment about ed is his opinion. whilst he believes it to be the truth, it is actually only one opinion.
i played against nick in two spts. the first time i reraised all-in with 22 and nick called with AK. i won, nick criticised my play and walked off. the second time i went all in with AJ nick called with KT. nick won, i walked over, congratulated him and shook his hand.
my opinions of nick are; he is a good player, he is unsporting when a loser, he is 24.

Nick has every reason to feel agrieved that he did not get the mentoring he expected having been told by skypoker that he would be mentored by a professional mentor.
When Ed, David Tuckman and Matt broughton were asked to be JUDGES on total player they agreed to do so for a fee based on appearance on channel 865.
Fast forward a few weeks and the final 6 or 10 [cannot remember] players in each person team have been selected, skypoker then instruct the 3 judges to spend approx 20 hours per week mentoring their players. Skypoker do not have the budget to pay you for this service but we expect you to do it, we were told.
When skypoker were quickly informed that the 3 judges work freelance and do not have the time and/or inclination to give up 20 hours a week mentoring players without some sort of financial remuneration a quick conference call was arranged between the 3 judges, Claire cook[senior lady at skypoker 865] and another producer of the channel.
During the conference call the whole tp expierience was close to breaking down as Claire cook was tryiung to bully the 3 judges into working for no fee, suggesting that for future work on the channel it may be a good idea to do this work for free. Ed and Matt were quiet and David Tuckman took the lead, he was very professional, he was impressive and he got the point across that as a freelanceer he expects to get paid for his poker knowledge in a work capacity, he was fair to himself. the other 2 judges and to skypoker.
A sort of dutch auction was then had and skypoker offered a fee which was insultingly low and David Tuckman in a very calm professional way negosiated a fee that was still very low but it was accepted by the 3 judges. |The hours expected of the judges now mentors to actually mentor was i think cut from 20 to 4 hours per week,
The whole Total player expierience had been sullied, hense it hasnt happened again.
Im sorry that Nick didnt get mentored by me after what he thought he was going to get after being promised a professional mentor by Sky.
Id never mentored before, I was an analyst on a tv show, two very different jobs, I wasnt actually qualified to mentor .
If I am at fault it would be that rather than give all my players 30 minutes a week each I spent 100% of my time with Dan brown and glitterbabe who were the best two players and the players that i was always going to take thru to the finals.
My thoughts about Nick crying about this 2 years later and and printing private emails remain the same, I think hes a [ill leave the last word to your imagination]

Just to make one thing slightly clearer , when the 3 judges were asked to do total player mentoring was not even mentioned, let alone giving up 20 hours a week for free. The 3 judges were told their duty was to commit to a 1 hour tv show once a week for 8 weeks.
So Nick is aggrieved because skypoker promised him something that the 3 judges were not able to do, had Ed been told thast he was expected to mentor for 20 hours a week as well as the tv show then he would have had huge reservations about taking on the project.
