In Response to My Las Vegas challenge.:
Well this is my 1st post, so wher do i begin ? A friend of mine says fancy going to Vegas in October ? Me yes great, now better run this past the Mrs. Well Answer was yes you can go, but how you gonna pay for it ? Me: I will try to win the money from playing Poker....  Wife: a little sniggle, (she does not play and doesnt really like the game or the idea of it) ok then if you have the money in your poker account then you can book it.  So cost around £800 plus spends (i will worry about Spends if i get money to go) So here we go Bank roll ATM £124.60 will be playing Dyms (for a change) and see what happens. Best of luck Gary,

What sort of levels will you be playing? & How many tables do you play at a time?
Is it going to be the Tortoise or the Hare approach ?

Well Yesterday didnt go to plan, and im further away from my goal than i started. Br ATM £90.85.
Not sure i did to much wrong other than lost flips that i was ahead in.

All in pre with AQ played 2 Q5  flop 10 5 5 need i say more about that
had QQ vs JJ of course J hits
    had straight to rivered house
    Trips to a rivered straight

but then  i most likley had some good luck as well so wont moan just say thats poker and carry on.

cant play much to day as im out with me daughter looking at a university (feel thats gonna cost me) but should be on tonight for a few games if im not to tired when i get home.

Lesson for the day: must try harder

Hi - my plans are similiar

Started in Jan with £50 and want to go to vegas in Oct for 10 days. Trying to get about £2800. £800 flight, hotel £400, food etc £400, Bankroll £1200.

Currently have £700, plus I am taking £1500 from household funds so nearly there. In effect I need to win another £600 in 3 months. Thats less than £10 a day so its doable.

Only playing cash, mostly 2 tables at NL20 just grinding away. Recently I have found it most profitable Fri and Sat after about 9pm mm I wonder why.

Occasionally play in a MTT and now bank roll is growing might just go in a few £20 tournies and 1 good cash does it.

If it all goes wrong I will just delay my plans to probably spring. Bottom line is I AM GOING BACK TO VEGAS just dont know when. Good luck with your mission.

Thanks Mike, point noted, and thrown out of window lol.
Played £16.50 and a £11 game so far today, cashed in both so run continued from yesterday, up to 7 in a row now. (br now £119.85) still down on start but working me way in the right direction now.

Shame you couldnt make it to Blackpool, but maybe you could the next SPT event, would have been nice to put another face behind a name.

    good luck

    Gary

Well better day today and BR heading in the right direction, as it stands BR £139.60
so a profit was made today, and im a few miles closer to Vegas.
Might get a few games later, but leaving for Blackpool when i get up in a few hours time, will be taking me laptop with me so if i get there early enough might be able to get a couple of games in before hitting Casino in the evening.

Well Busted out in Blackpool in 31st place (i think may have been 32nd) but feel the whole experience has helped my game, just need to tweek things ive learned.
Was on table with Yoyo most of the time and watching his play has hopefully been good for me ( as well as watching some other very good players). Now time for some on line stuff to see how what ive learned works out.
Played a couple of games in last couple of days on me laptop in Hotel.
Lost 1 when i was chip leader 4 players left and hotel internet went off (thats annoying).

    BR atm: £176.10

Long drive home soon, hope its better than the drive here (7 and a half hours)

Glen ive been with the Mrs and my daughters (they were 16 and 20 at the time) My mrs hates poker, but we had a fantastic time the kids said it the best place they have ever been to, the shows and the whole atmosphere of the place are amazing.
Tell the Mrs she can just lounge by the pool during the day while you have a game or two, then at night a meal and a show for the both of you.
This time i want to go to gamble so the mrs says go with your mates.......

    Good luck
