Caption comp. No team, ! "I said I wanted a donkey like Orfords card protector" Lovely seeing all at my home SPT , shame about the weather on Friday but gave more time to drink . lol Played rubbish again, but at least won 2 heads . Have a gud un you girls, and as usall Anna, looking good, and Jen ) Posted by HAPPYNIGE4
Evening ladies, lovely to see you both this weekend, if only briefly in Jen's case after being moved next to her before my AA got cracked by Queens (unbelievably not by the now infamous Steve).
Where's the picture of Greg? I could do with a laugh, I'm sure after being woefully out-performed by his drinking partner Fredgirl that there were plenty of opportunities for amusing photography
A question about the hand that really got me in trouble at Blackpool if you have time to discuss?
I have AA in the Big Blind, blinds 100/200, I have around 13,000 chips
folds to 3rd to act, raise to 600 - 3 callers.
I bump it up to 2000 from the Big Blind - 1 fold, 3 callers. So 8,900 in the pot and I have about 11,000 back.
Flop bring 3 7 8 rainbow.
I open jam for my full stack 1st to act. 2 folds and 1 caller, I immediately know he's made his set, and he shows 88 which holds and leaves me with just 2100 chips.
The question - was the open jam correct? My reasoning was that given the pot size I can't bet fold after the flop so I might as well just get them in.
can you look at this please from last weeks lucky 7 tourney?
Hand History #533673036
i had been pretty aggro in this tourney and had won a lot of pots without going to showdown, the opponent had played back at my turn bet in the previous hence why i checked the flop this time
even though my river bet worked on this occasion i am not sure i like it
Hi Always loved Blackpool as grew up there ( it has gone downhill tho) but enjoyed the SPT - thx for the picture Anna but my mobile broke after that
Didn,t get to meet Jen but manged a dbl through against her exit opponont ( you know the guy )I raiseed UTG to 8k with KJ diamonds - - it folds to him and he shoves after looking at 1 cardYou might think an ace against anyone else buti spotted him earlier (This was after midnight - I hear he was in a a bit tupsy at half 5 5 )I call for my stack 65k stack. He shows Q 2 clubs - we miss the flop but 2 clubs out - I,ve never seen someone have so much luck in a live game - it held up for a 130k pot but it was last level of day 1 - I was on his left and would have loved 1 more level
Next day i went out in 20th ( A rush of blood to te head after what i thought what was a blind steal (min raised ) 24K in the pot already - Simllarstacks (85k )- he tanked and called with A7 (think he went on to be 2nd) - Any thoughts on that hand Jen or is it a deffo fold or call - Didn,t just want to fold for a min cash even though it wudda massively boosted my Bankroll
Cant grumble - got in for free - (played with julian Thew for 1st time and won a cpl of pots on him ) 4bounites and percenatge of someone else who did rather better than me, but another good learning experience and meetin everyone - putting names to faces - really well run as well
Thanks for comments on my hand, glad it caused you as much confusion as it has me, still don;t know what I'd do in the same spot in future.
I agree now the pre-flop raise could have been a little bigger as I knew it was going to look very squeezy, I think 2500 - 2700 would have been the right bet and hope to take 1 opponent to a flop.
With the pot size and 3 opponents to act after me, I really don't want to see a turn card as pocket pairs looking to set up are right in the range that I can see calling my 3 bet which is why I opted to open jam. If I bet out and get 3 bet, I have no fold equity so have to get them in anyway. I suppose knowing this, there's a good arguement for a standard c-bet and hope for a 3bet from 10's - Q's and then 4 bet jam and sigh id I'm against a set!

It's his own fault he asked for the beer to be poured into them!
No wonder he's dog tired!
Caption comp: Are you a guide dog by any chance because i am blind drunk !
Where do I go on the flop? Any C-Bet commits, but is the shove wrong for full Fold equity?
"If i squeeze now will i get bitten?"

im off to find the nearest bridge...
)
PS - I also busted with AA vs QQ which Jen witnessed as I was sat next to her.
Surely I deserve to win the caption thing after getting AA cracked twice and still smiling!
