In my experiance the teams are good for learning and justgreat banter, ontop of that i can have some friendly rivaly with the likes of Trev's team aswell as with others. It has been taken out of context by other indivduals in the past but unfortunetly thats the nature.
I dont think a single TKP player has ever justified a fold because the opponent was another TKP member, and if they did they would be slated both in team and outwith team.
ps I don't need to be re-educated in how teams work.

Nonetheless, i am completely sure that there is zero collusion in the DTD when it comes to playing against teammates. I was surrounded by TPT'ers the other night, me and 4 of them, and they all played against each other forcefully! FWIW, if a team mate of mine is in the BB, i am MORE likely to raise them from the button!
Going back to the original question, why not feature the DTD tables on sky poker tv- good idea. Also i think the DTD tables should be renamed, to make it clearer for other potential entrants. Like Forum dtd1, 2, and 3, and then a TV symbol. Also highlight them at the top of the lobby on a monday night with a little explanation of what the Forum DTD is about, and its principles, in each lobby! ?
Genrally in the deep stacks people just do nothing but fold for two hours anyway
You would think there would be more play at the start but it would seem people just wait longer for hands !

Firstly I Think some coverage of The DTD would be Great, as i think All of us who play regulary would agree, that it is one of the best nites of the poker week!!
The DTD has become now an Institution, but this is why its sporting Ethic must be protected, because with more coverage & Publicity it will be, [like the teams], more up there to be 'shot' at!!
Brief paragraph of DTD & Team History or 'folklore' now, please correct me Chris & Michael if i am wrong!!
These Two hardworking lads, starting this, without sky's help off there own backs, as a league made up of 3 tournies, thus catering for some variance, for their forum friends & regulars.
Numbers initially varied between 20-40, i believe with lots of original team TKP taking part!!
A Few others regulars were maybe considering their own teams at this point after making friends at SPT's etc!
The Big gear change came when my lil' gang of 4/5 Hitsquaddies w3as challenged by Don & Macha, to some small games, these were succesful, and we decided to find a way of forming a league!!
So after checking with Chris & Michael that their succesful formula could be used as a team vechile, I started The Team DTD League, firstly contested by TKP & Hitsquad, then quickly joined by TPT & Team 51, who outgrew us both massively quickly , then TNP!!
Numbers swelled to over 100 most weeks!!
& it continued to grow...joined by Team Sky sometimes, & Team Solack, Team Fish[briefley], Now team Diamond & Bring it being more recent additions!!
All enjoying their time together!!
The Point to all this is, IS....at that early stage Several Senior Team Members set out an agreement to Keep the Sporting ethic true to its start & avoid Collusion, & poor table manners, abuse, etc!!
We all spoke together regulary, despit Team rivalary & any banter going too far or problems which were very few, in early days were sorted!!
In any given range of three tournies with approx 200 runners, hands can be picked, that would appear to be played odd or soft!!.... and in truth....some hands at keys points MAY be played softer between team players, ie some checking down etc!! BUT THIS IS RARE & certainly not deleberately spoken of in chat etc!!
My advice to My team players is too play your own game & enjoy, the better YOU do The better for the Team & the Team points are structured this way!!
SO IT IS STILL AN INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT AS A WHOLE!!
Now problems I forsee....
Of late, in my experiance, with The Team mentions on Sky TV, the prominence at SPTS, etc etc More newer members have joined, they are not aware of this proud history, and some mistakes have been made!!
Teams have FB threads & some websites now, We also Have a Captains DTD FB Thread, which is used rarley, but has been used along with pm to provide evidence of any abuse or poor etiquette, and as Chris & Michael know, I have ejected 2 players from The Hitsquad for DTD abuse at tables, which i will not tolerate!!
Without being ageist, [some exceptions lol], generally the problems have been with younger generation poker players [politely poker brats?lol], the early DTD'ers being mostly life experianced & well rounded, [poltely Old F.arts, like me lol]!!
I have tried to lead by example & show the poker sporting ethic required to anyone who needs it, but some wont learn, so they are GONE!! I think most other Team Captains would agree with this strong line!!
THIS HAS BEEN QUITE LONG-WINDED, But could TV coverage damage our Institution, I have seen many trolls & haters try to latley, & Unless WE ARE STRONG & GOOD PEOPLE STICK TOGETHER could it happen here....
It did on the DTD FB Page, but swift action & back-up seems to have resovled that!!

Very nicely put David, tho 1 small detail, I started the Forum DTD on 9th Dec 2010 & Merenovice very kindly did the Tables for me, then i asked Merenovice to show me m8 Chris how to do the Tables as Merenovice couldn't do them each week & it's gone on from there
Thanks for your reply.I know I didn't word my first post well.Just a heat of the moment thing.I apoligise for that.I have played and really enjoyed the Monday night games.I didn't mean to accuse all players and teams I should have made that clear.As you can tell by the posts all players really love the DTD and didn't want me talking it down, which I understand.One bad experience shouldn't and will not detract from what is a great tournament.If its possible I would like to put the issue to rest now.
