In Response to Re: Main and Mini freerolls, Thoughts please including sky itself : I'm not moaning at you Huuuume, I generally agree with most things you put on the forum, but if this was the thought process then it's very flawed. Low stakes players don't tend to play alot of MEs and as for the Minis, it is a freeroll and 'free money' but it is a £50 freeroll, and these run daily anyway without having to play the mini to get entry. So it adds little value for low stakes players. Posted by Lambert180
you make a good point in that not many lower stakes players play the main which now means i cant think of any positive reasons for sky to introduce these freerolls.
If they're not for lower stakes players then i'm not sure at all why sky have introduced them?!?
surely most players who play higher volume are already rewarded through cash for points?
It strikes me is that the two main reasons for having these freerolls are:
1) To encourage players that are wavering about playing on a particular night to play because they also have entry to a FREEROLL (or two).
2) To encourage players to extend their session. Normally if I bust out of the Main & Mini early, I play cash or DYMs so I can choose when to end my session. By having the freerolls, it means that players can become commited to playing an extra two hours.
Are they any good?
On the face of it, it is a lot of effort for a very small reward but I have played two so far & cashed in both so maybe they are working.
saw this for the 1st time last night - a 400 runner freeroll with 1st prize being £5.
Dont get me wrong, its nice for sky to offer freebies to the lower players & is a nice guesture, but spending 3 hrs or so to win £5 seems a bit pointless.
As I said, nice idea but not sure thought out that well. How about adding them up & doing weekly/monthly?
Possibly with starting chip stack reflecting no of entries into the mini ( I myself play the mini very rarely so doesnt really effect me personally).
Just a quick idea as i thought about this Personally i think there a waste of time ino it was nice of sky to introduce em to boost the main mumbers and that but to the ordianry joe who playes the main n mini most night of the week there pointless eg £50 fr 400 runners 1st />£12.50 £200 fr 400 runners 1st />£50 For about 3 hours play just aint worth the effort and most players who play day in day out aint gunna bother with these at all What i suggest: Instead of a daily mini and main freeroll junk them A weekly freeroll eg Players who cash in either the main or the mini from mon/sat get entry to £1500 freeroll on the sunday So my guess there would be between 400/500 runners with 1st offering around £300 This would be a much better idea and its worth the time to play , can keep the same freeroll structure n that Thoughts and input be good Posted by kidwiz10
i take offence being called an ordinary joe but agree they are a waste of time i play the main and mini most nights and have these games popping up i just donk my chip off asap and go to bed gl thou JOE:))
