Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
UKOPS was announced yesterday afternoon, & qualifying, or direct buy-in, began shortly thereafter.
I did a quick back of the envelope sum, & came up with the appprox number of runners UKOPS needs to cover it's Guarantees, which total, gulp, £250,000.
I made the target........6,280 runners. Wowzer.
How many are in so far? 14.
14 down, 6,266 to go.
Gotta love a challenge.
It's a bit like this really......

Anyway......
Who, what, how many?
Well the £530 High Roller has it's very first runner - Pupster. Well done him. Or her.
The Main Event, meanwhile, has 4 runners - ryan83, dantb10, TommyD, & 1267. Congrats to the Fab First Four.
Meanwhile, as yesterday was Wednesday, most quallies were for the Wednesday UKOPS Main, being the £15,000 Guaranteed UKOPS 4.
The Nifty Nine were.....
The surprise, or disappointment, last night, was the 9pm Super-Sat, which cost £12 to enter, & generates a Guaranteed £1,630 worth of UKOPS seats. It was capped at 150 runners, & needed to hit it's cap to "cover".
How many did it get? 64, I think. Whoops.
Hopefully, that was just because the UKOPS Noise Machine is not up to speed yet, I don't know. Bit early for me to discuss it with the Heads, too, as they don't start work until 11am. (May be untrue).
I HOPE the nightly Super-Sat will continue, that was the plan, but if it only makes those sort of numbers, it'll stop, as sure as.....
My advice?
Today's main focus for qualifying (leaving aside "will they won't they run the lets give away another £700 in the nightly Super Sat") is for UKOPS 5, as today is Thursday.
UKOPS 5 is the High Roller, so I'm not sure how that will work. The Satellite schedule for each day goes up mid or late morning, so keep an eye on the Lobby please, if you are interested.
If I hear from upstairs in the interim, I'll let you know.
The word from them upstairs is that it WILL run again tonight, but unless it does much better, that's it, it will be like Monty Python's Parrot.
There were some mitigations, or as my old Guv'nor used to call them, excuses. The SPT 6-Max Sat ran last night (& again tonight) but that's it after that, so that frees up the "slot" better. Maybe the start time needs tweaking too.
I'm pretty sure that as an experiment, & for today only at present, they will run Satellites INTO the Super-Sat, so that may give it a better chance.
More details when I get them.
You not playing this weekend's 6-Max? Got a Doctor's note, I hope, or has SWMBO put her foot down?
Boo!
Slowly slowly the UKOPS express train gathers momentum.
The High-Roller now has four runners.....
The Main Event, which is Sunday 4th November, is now into double figures. Just need another 240 then.
UKOPS 4 is up to 8 runners now.....
5 or 6 others UKOPS jobbies now have 1 or 2 runners.
In total, there are 30 entries for UKOPS. Just the 6,250 to go then.
I actuallly think the Mini UKOPS Events will get monsta fields, so it's not as daunting as it looks. That's called whistling in the dark, I think.
It rather looks like the UKOPS Super Sat has earned a reprieve, as I see it is in the Lobby again tonight. It had another disappointing field last night, so fingers crossed tonight does better, as I just can't see it surviving with that amount of subsidy each night.
5 value-conscious souls are in tonight already.....
WINNER - £530 UKOPS High Roller seat
2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th - £220 Main Event seats.
Personally, I simply haven't had time to play in one yet and probably won't for another week and a half. Maybe if the frequency was reduced from 1 per day the level of sibsidy would be reduced, would be a shame to scrap them altogether.
Good morning.
Well the SPT 6-Max is done & dusted, so now it's all about Kings of Cash, Happy Hours Booster, & most important of all, UKOPS is less than 2 weeks away.
I have sort of lost touch with UKOPS qualifying the last few days, the 3 day SPT 6-Max weekend was a bit distracting....but let's see where we are now.
We now have 76 registered, so just the 6,204 more needed. Easy. Ish.
Today is Monday - I think - so qualifying will be for UKOPS 2 Main, which is the £55 Rebuy, with 1 optional rebuy (4,000 chips) during the first 2 hours, & one optional 10,000 chip add-on.
The Guarantee will be £15,000.
A special satellite schedule for UKOPS 2 Main will appear in the UKOPS Lobby later this morning.
The nightly Super Sat, with £1,630 Guaranteeed for £12, has had poor numbers every night, so I don't yet know if it will run tonight, but I'll let you know later this morning.
The £220 UKOPS Main Event, with a £50,000 Guarantee, now has 25 runners......
Meanwhile, the £550 High Roller (£25,000 Guarantee) is up to 6, being......
UKOPS1 (£110 Bounty Hunter) now has 10......
UKOPS 6 (£55 Bounty Hunter) has 12 now.,....
UKOPS 4 (£55 unlimited rebuy) has 8 now.....
UKOPS 6 (Turbo-Wurbo unlimited rebuy chip chucker) has these 7......
UKOPS 3, the £110 Double Stack, looks like a walkover.....
