Potentially, yes. But all those folk who watch the show and don't use the forum might be all "Well that sounds like a fun competition, how do I get in on that?"

I guess that's the flipside of the coin :)

    Hi Rich,

Do you happen to know if any member of the Sky Poker TV team has been nominated for an award recently?

Maybe it's an award run by a major poker magazine? Perhaps channel 861 viewers can vote for the winner on-line?

    Please tell us more!

  • edited December 2012
    Thanks, Rich!

I stand little to no chance of winning, but would like to put in a respectable showing.

So, yes, I'm appealing for pity votes...

also the tourny has a TV icon on it and is run on live show nights, more coverage = more players = more winnings, and also might encourage new players to contribute on the forum more :)

This is to the Carol of the Bells:

Ding, d ong, ding d ong,
Ding, d ong, ding, d ong,

    Look how the raise,
    Big 3-bet raise,
    Just seems to say,
    Throw draws away,
    The board is paired,
    You should be scared,
    Don't be too bold,
    Please find the fold,

Ding, d ong, ding, d ong
    Learn from this song,

    You cannot win,
    Don't go all-in,
    You need to fear,
    Full-boats are here,
    Signs are all there,
    He can't have air,

    No! You have called,
    Redmond's appalled,
    Now that you've failed,
    Head to the rail,

    Tell them your beat,
    While they repeat,
    His hand was clear,
    Said with a sneer,

Very, very, very, very Good Game,
Very, very, very, very, Good Game.

It wouldn't let me post the word d ong... as though I would be referencing gen italia... How hilarious is that? lol

    (2) Xmas Poker Number Ones

I've actually missed a chunk of the show whilst writing this so I hope people find it amusing.
It runs to the tune of Wham's Last Christmas & if you need the audio ( it mactches almost perfectly!):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8gmARGvPlI

    Anyway - here goes.....

    "Last Orbit"

    [Chorus (2x):]
    Last Orbit
    I gave you my blind
But the very next hand you three bet my raise
    This hand
    To save me from tears
    I'm shoving with something special!

    Once limped, now too late
    I had outs
But you still caught your straight
    Tell me T-K
    Do you recognize this?
    Well
    It's been a year
    since you bad-beat it
    (Merry Christmas)

I raised it up quite early
With a face saying “I’ll beat you”
    I meant it!
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you called me now
I know you'd beat me again.

    [Chorus 2x]

    A crowded table
    players with tired eyes
    I'm 3-betting you
    And your two fives
My god I thought you were a station to rely on

me? I was set-mining and hoping for value

A Queen with another only four of them hearts
An ace under cover and you tore me apart
Now I've found a real hand you'll never call me again!

    [Chorus 2x]

A King with another only four of them hearts
An ace under cover and you tore me apart
Maybe next hand I'll get something….
    I'll get something….  special.

    Merry Xmas :-)

The carol of the bells, Richard. Usually sung by a full choir and made famous by the "Home Alone" movies.

You'd know it if you heard it. Shame you can't get it on that iPad during the show, or I'd be guaranteed a win... maybe. lol

I always have some poker chips to riffle when I'm playing online, much to the annoyance of the wife.

As you liked thr previous one How about some more of Mr. George Michaels best? I don't know why...!

Anyway again, - it marries up with the tune ...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izGwDsrQ1eQ

    “Careless Limpers”

    oooh –ohh  (Whooah)

    I feel so unsure…,

As I take my hand and watch you call my raises,

As my chances die, ….something in your eyes

Shows me you’ve not got a clue

    When you’re calling with… (!)

    I'm never gonna bet again

    Filthy chancers taking my bankroll

Though it's hard for me to pretend

    I still think you're a fool

Should've known better than to raise again

    Stations, limpers, 6-way pot hell

So I'm never gonna bet again

And lose my chips to you-oooh –ohh  (Whooah)

    Time can never mend

The careless suck out of a Monster

    To the baize then gone

    Thought this was the one

There’s no comfort in my cards

One has an Ace every time!

    I'm never gonna bet again

    Filthy chancers taking my bankroll

Though it's hard for me to pretend

    I still think you're a fool

Should've known better than to raise again

Calling raises , just ‘cause they’re suited(!)

So I'm never gonna bet again

And lose my chips to you-oooh –ohh  (Whooah)

    Never without a hand!

    Tonight 8-6-1 seems so loud!

I wish that we could lose this crowd

    Maybe it's always this way

We get it in as favourite but they take it away

“Those cards just looked so good together???!”

I type out “That makes pot sense NEVER!”

now no-one's gonna’ call my house

    …Please stay….

    I'm never gonna bet again

    Flthy chancers taking my bankroll

    Maybe I should not pretend

    And maybe I’m the fool?

Should've known better than to raise your blind

There’s no pushing you off that one

So I'm never gonna bet again

And lose my chips to you-oooh –ohh  (Whooah)

(Now that you're gone) I have that hand I needed

(Now that you're gone) What you did Is SO wrong

    593835194

    question is

is the call preflop ok or should i have raised

and on this flop is shoving ok or not ?
  • edited December 2012

    When it happens, you'll know.

  • edited December 2012
Right so, here are my excuses for the 4-bet and call.

I knew that I had a super-aggro image so I 4-bet and then I had the odds to call off the rest (unless he has AA)... I hate it so much... I'm such a fish.

does'nt the auto focus table do that ? bring the active table to the front ?

    Question for Redmond

If Redmond is multitabling and is deep into a big mtt does he ever go into robot mode with his sit n go's?  e.g shoving on selected pre flop hands, or does he give each table the same attention?

  • edited December 2012
re hand just showed have had lots of strange responsesd to min betting big hands resulting in good results i know it seems wrong but works for me farrier1
  • edited December 2012
next time i play farrier if he min bets i fold lol

if he bets big i raise :) cheers  for the info :)
  • edited December 2012

Now you've learned how to win Sit and Go's from the BorinLoner school: Just bang it in with 83 and river the flush. Easy peasy. :)

Seriously though, does Redmond think the shove is bad? We both only had 10 Big Blinds.

Basically, I'm shoving there with 100% of my range as long as I think my opponent is going to fold some of his hands. (Something I should keep to myself if I ever intend to play again. lol)

Thanks for the feedback chaps. Good show, as per usual.

When i play cash poker, i have this wierd superstition where I throw away the first 5 hands without looking at them. Not sure why I do it though. Id like to think its because I want to recce the table but it prob isnt. When I play online, even in the daylight, i have to draw the curtains and play with my table lamp on.

    hi rich n redmond

A  sit n go question for redmond lee   it pays top 2 is it best to play them like a dym  meaning tight early and then open up your game later on pretty much like farrier has done or just play really aggro n go for the win

for me i like to play them like a dym n the open up my game when blinds are higher as im comftable with my game in the 20-30 bb region

    Evening guys,

My game is full of little idiosyncracies. I have to set the chat bit to 'Chat Only' even if I'm going onto miniview. Also whenever I make an action (bet, raise, check whatever) I always circle the next opponent to act's avatar with my cursor while I'm waiting for them to act.

    Evening guys

I have a curious habit when playing online. If I raise with a decent pocket pair and get a caller, I give a sort of "calm down" gesture, akin to michael winner in an insurance advert campaign, or an enthusiastic contestant on "play your cards right", to summon low cards on the flop.  Unfortunately this has proven to have no statistically significant effect on the ensuing flop, but I am incapable of arresting this apparently pointless behaviour.

Thanks for the great advice tonight guys.

    Ray

Agree that 30 handed Sit and Go's are a great idea.  However, when you enter it may take an hour for the table to fill. Need to remember to de-register if you decide to go to bed before it starts ! Easy to forget that you have registered for it !

Entered a few Scary's by mistake when I thought it was a DYM, Get to last 3 and think , yes Ive won ! only to see another hand dealt and reality dawns,  it is not a DYM !

In reference to Richard/Redmond saying I'm missing out on value, yes thats true...the reason I dont look is I dont want to know if I have aces! Also the table image thing you mentioned is quite interesting...you may have touched on something there as i do like to play a tight image and exploit it
