today I choose to have 1 long evening session, it began at 5:55pm and went on till  11:54. The total I made during this session was £16.46 but i do question weather or not I was taking far too big a gamble calling the overbet jams, one occasion was when a player with £10 went L/AI I myself decided to take a risk with KJ, luckily enough it was in a flip but it didn't come and I was kicking myself after. Another incident occured when i'd held K7 in BB, the problem is i'd turn two pair but got Ch/MR, then this same player shipped £5 on a river, i'd took the brave choice hero calling and went to showdown against a set.

I can talk about kicking myself over bad calls but the other side to this story is i'd also receeived great cash prize from other doing it with much worse, a person holding two pair went Ch/AI £3.52 on a board 1098 and went on to lose against my QJ straight, someone decided to 3bet/C 23o and tried to bluff trip on flop 998.

the important thing is i'd still made £16.46 giving me BR now £277.

Wednesday night was a better night in cash prizes with a total winning of £34.86. What might have been a key benifit to this was myself not be as kind to the shoving donks, at the end of the day the pot contains usually 36p so long run it will be a loss calling these £4 shoves, one person learned it the hard way when he'd jammed £4 into the £1 pot, held top pair decent kicker (KJ) and got called by set, i did still go on to lose it as a flush draw decided to also call and went on to hit his draw.

During todays poker session I'd began with 8 table, then when I noticed shoving on flops become frequent I choose to play on 12 tables and for the final hour i'd spent my time playing on 15 table because my thought is if people are shoving sack £2-£4 ito small pots, i'll  just put more time into other cash tale and let them continue, hopefully i'll be given a set or premium pair ready and waiting for these donkeys.

Had my first session of poker today at 2pm. played for 3 hours and won £8.38. The session as a whole was good but I did seem to become lost when i become HU, playing on 12 tables, I should have just quit but what i was thinking is the table would soon see  new person join it, so continued playing and started becoming confused, when I began to see my play directed into other tables, I managed to make a reaction quickly enough whereby i’d just limp in the HU hand  and let him do his min donkey bets knowing it’s going to see me lose no less than I lost raising my hand pre.

After watching the premier league darts I went back for a second session, this session was two hours long and was a bit troublesome at the beginning. From 10pm in the evening nl4 begins to get a number of bingo players, I attempted to play on an extremely large number of tables and wait for premium pairs knowing that these maniacs will ruin the normal poker game, the problem was it caused my tables to begin freezing so I reduced the number to between 12-15 and continued playing my natural game, some of the nonsense seen by these maniacs was a person with Q3cc ChMR a flop 1085dd and AI on the 9 turn, i held JJ at the time and was looking to win but J comes on river. Another maniac that got lucky was a person who’d shoved £2 preflop holding J5s myself had AK so made the call but went on to lose AK also lost to Q4s, not ever maniac was so lucky, a person who’d been jamming came up against me called 52o on flop 10108 and did a donk on a turn Qhh, I myself happily called him and when he shipped the river i again called therefore winning £8.41 pot with JJ.

Overall i've made a total cash prize today of £14.28, BR itself now £324.85

Yesterday had been an extremely busy poker day. Overall i’ve had 3 sessions and made a total loss of £14.06.

My first session began at 1:30 and saw me make a loss of -£8.45, I probably had rushed too quickly into cash poker because at the time i’d just finished having a stressful meeting, my thought was that being nl4, I could still gain a cash prize whilst frustrated but it turned out, I was wrong. It wasn’t all bad news because that session had revealed a few of my mistakes and times i’ve been losing value.

I took a break for an hour had tea and got myself into a much more relaxing mood at 6pm, so I spent another 3 hours playing and made a winnings of £7.81 in this session. At 8:30pm things took a nasty swing and saw a few bad beats occur, AK vs 52o lost me £3.81 when the board came AK6 4 3, JJvs 23 lost me £3.47 on a board Q103 K 2, I could consider myself meant to lose this one mind as he’d 3bet me pre before shipping the flop, the reason i’d called of course was because i’d thought he has AK and that itself goes ahead on turn, my nastiest one came when AJ goes all in against 58cc on flop Ad2h2s and then gets 3 and 4 on turn and riv. Not all maniacs were so lucky, KKvs Q7& 67 got me £6.47, I’d got revenge on the 52o maniac when he’d thought his 72o was ahead on flop A72  it turned out he was drawing dead on turn when we shoved each other and saw me with AA

My last session was the longest of them all and it say myself lose £13.42 but things could have been alot worse. Nl4 does contain extremely loose caller and what happened is i’d been in for a big loss, so I then choose to take it to the next extreme, “if they want to see a flop, they can, for 40p!” Doing this i was starting to get myself money back and managed to keep my BR over £400 when finished. Some will still make the call and well it could enable me to get back on track getting this £1000 I'm aiming for.

Today started off excellent, normally I'm watching Newcastle united but at the minute they will be wasting my time, so i’ve spent that time playing some poker with a outcome of £26.58, I do question weather or not i may have been able to escape from a rivered flush, he did cbet the flop and does another cbet on turn and calls my raise, the weird part is he donk jammed the 7sss river, the difficulty was the fact he’d cbet the flop (Ks 8d 5h) and when I raise him on turn a river Ch is the last thing he should be expecting.

My second session of the day didn’t start anywhere near as good, I seemed to be at a point against one villain in particular undefeatable to me, he could call J10ss on flop 862 knowing he’ll still win which he did with runner runner flush. About three hours into my second session things changed for the better, now i was taking down pots frequently on the flop, my loss started to look more like a win and by the end of it I made a winnings total of £39.27.

Overall i’ve made a winnings total today of £65.85, BR itself is £438 (including my C4P)

  • edited May 2015

I had my first session today at 12:53 and it lasted 3 hours, there was a couple of easy come easy go, revenge instances one being when Ks10s in a 4bet pot called the flop A Q ss, turn did give him J therefore he’d won the pot £5.82, late on an instance occurred which he’d donk jammed J high flop, i’d called AJ, when the cards showed he has QQ but like himself i too managed to hit a J to get me ahead, 5.30 of the pot did go to a fish who happily came along with 82s and made a flush. Still £6.40 was mine.

After the amount of folding made by players last night and during my first session today, I was beginning to think people would respect my bets therefore i should reduce my betting but my second session of the day tells me it’s just a time when the calling station aren’t playing because this in this session, players were making calls with bottom pair on a 2 broadway board when i’ve done a bet that is full pot some would continue on the turn as well if i’ve double barrelled. Overall this session made me £28.35 but question if i should have wasted £2.77 at the very end when a player shoved £2.73 with what i’d expected to be a pocket pair having just seen myself call an AK  when another opponent shoved his hand.

These mayhem freeroll sound great so I'm giving them a go now, i'll keep an account balance the cash won from these and deduct that away from my actual cash challenge BR, my BR is mind £20 short of its standard BR already due to a super 6 bet and also a relegation bet, my first attempt tells me, I'm unlikely to get far anyway because i’ll have 14 nl4p cash table open.

After taking another small break, I went back onto the cash tables for my final few hours before bed and the negative thing was flips were again not going my way, the other down fall with this session was i’d not been unlucky in avoiding the draws, so having charged them full pots, i’d suffered some heavy pot losses, still, i did make a total profit in this session of £18.01 therefore i had enough good luck.

Total cash won overall was £56.46.

Due to the cycle group, monday's sessions  begin between 4pm-5pm, today it was at 5:30 and was intent to go on until 9pm but having got disconnected, I  took a break at 8pm. As a whole this session was break even (+0.86p), the beginning of it was packed with bad luck including when an AA lost against  K9  which having jammed the flop 975, got lucky on the turn with his second 9 coming, another eventful one was against a player who i'd knew was shoving most his 1 pair strength hands giving me confidience to call with my over pair,  unfortunely it didn't remain that way because ont he river came 2 giving him two pair (7722), things did begin going my way as the streets soon were giving brick cards making up for these bad bit of luck, getting myself back to being break even.

My second session of the evening had a slightly better, overall it made £21.06. I had made a silly mistake close to the end attempting to rep AxKc knowing the opponent who held Ac7x now was sure to be ahead of my JJ having got the A rivered, overall it cost me an extra £3.65. 30 minutes later and this costly mistake was forgotten about because I’d now seen myself get a triple up thanks to the player with KK only making a call which in turn allowed Q10s to come along, the on the flop itself then give me Q104 and I’d been jammed on by this KK then the Q10 makes his call thinking he’ll be ahead before discovering himself I’d held set.

All in all I made a total prize of £21.92 and this has allowed me to reach the halfway mark of this cash challenge.

The mayhem freeroll was attempted again today but like yesterday, this one itself ended just as quickly, I think it’s pointless playing this when I know my concentration will be on cash table and really, it 99% certain I’ll never be able to go to Vegas because it’ll be deem gambling which is even more reason the social worker won’t allow me to go and right now I'm still no closer at getting myself away on holiday to south Africa!

Today’s poker didn’t go as well as it normally is having finished as an overall loss of -£31.77, the cause of this loss lies through a combination of bad luck and boredom.

Going off the first session, you would think I'm going to have another winnings total because that session made a winnings total of £17.66. That itself all changed during the second session, it was that session which caused the most damage having made a loss of £29.21, this itself may seem huge but it’s what we expect to happen if luck goes against me because when doing pot size bets, we’ll usually be losing £4 per pot when the opponent hits his flush on the river and what it also means is those who’ve hit two pair will do more trapping, therefore i’ll be continuing to bet my TPTK/overpair incase it’s a flush draw he’s got.

The loss i gained through boredom occurred in the final session because when watching sky poker TV, I started to feel disappointed with the fact this BR is too small for nl20, i’ve been thinking alot about the way i’ll be playing my hands once I do return to nl20 but these things are just not possible when playing nl4, on nl4p we still get 53s calling the 3bet without thinking about the fact an original raiser could cold 4bet.

Today I feel abit ashamed of myself because again, i'd let a few bluffs and a number of piece of bad luck get the better of me and cause frustration, one of those bluffs that I became so wound up with didn't even lose me that much cash in the first place, the other bluff that occured did lose a larger chunk of money but in another way I could have easily got out of it had i sghipped QQ when the turn gave me more outs with an open ended straight draw, all in all I should have still made a winnings total today because these small bits of tilt had made me begin shoving anything. The one positive thing I can say about todays tilt was after 5 minutes of it, I'd left the tables and taken a bath with so relaxing powder put in.

overall i'd made a total loss today of £11

Hi craig i read your diary now and again and the one thing that stands out is how every player who wins a hand versus you is a bingo/donk player! why/how do you come too that conclusion?

Should every person/player just fold every hand v you because you are craigcu12?

Thats what it reads like every time you lose its a versus bingo/donk player getting lucky..

Pretty sure you have got lucky/suckedout a few times yourself!

hope u continue too just meet donks and bingo players every table (c u soon:@)

another day passes, another loss occurs, i think my general problem is i've had far too many late nights recent and therefore have been getting much less sleep making me feel less and less relaxed, so tonight i'm going to have an early night, get the sleep and feel alot more relaxed once I return from college tomorrow.

I do sometimes descibe players as bingo but the chances are they are feeling just as tilted themselves but sometimes they'll come straight onto the table and begin shoving right away therefore they could be just bingo style players for all I know.

As for donkeys well they are players who are doing just that, donk betting completely random and when/if I make a raise they either overbet jam or fold, in the end these are not name cazlling, I thought a donk was just a short way of saying donkey?

Although it doesn’t affect the outcome of variance itself, sleep can create other problems such as lack of concentration and make you more likely to over react to bad beats when they occur and my first session today tells me it was that itself which did just that. My first session today has went much better than those in recent days, good luck itself had played some part but the overall result tells me I was also concentrating much better too. My very first hand of the evening didn’t go that well having raised his donk bet on flop A64cc with AJ, he shipped the final 68p on a turn 6d and when I called, he turned 109cc and got the flush on river, rather than get so wound up, I remained more calmer and went on to make an overall winnings of £40.51, I did see myself strike lucky cards on two occasions, the first one happened when I went all in with AA vs. QJ and made a strong two pair when river give a second k, the K also give me a stronger two pair when I was all in with AK vs. A* on flop A82 but struck the K on turn.

My second session at 8pm didn’t go quite as well, I had got a couple of coolers that made me regret myself getting that river card I hoped for, I did manage to remain relaxed and just said to others in the chat box “better to see bad luck spread out than getting it all in one go”, I also decided that if things were to turn bad then I’d leave the cash right away instead of getting so worked up over them, I did make a small such of money, £5.07.

My overall total today was £45.58

if i'm going to acheive this challenge of getting myselftowards £1K in just two months, then I must start taking more break at times when bad luck is striking because when I reviewed my hand history during that hour I thought was bad luck, I found out that I was also getting myself making poor decsision and because of all tha bad luck, I just associated it as another piece of bad luck, as this challenged started mid april, I shall allow myself the first couple of week in june to attempt to complete this and then if I still fail to get the target reached, I will put a small deposit into the BR to make up what ever is required to get my BR back towards 1K then move back onto nl20 and 6 table.

it's official, 12 tabling can sometimes be an extremely stressful thing, i'll be rushing about constantly clicking buttons, i'm also getting timed out frequently when making notes, bad beats can themselves seem a common thing "especially when players are as loose as those on nl4" then at the end of it i'd have to spend hours looking at hand histories, i've only actually got another month left and well my BR itself is now £411, so what i've decided to do now is forget about this challenge, instead I shall go onto nl10p where i shall 6 table, I had did two hours worth on nl10 tonight and it didn't have any reason to be stressful, the occassion bad beat was taken with ease, i could make bets with confidence failed bluffs were easy to accept, basically i knew all along that i'd still got so many more buy ins to make up for those lost.

My first full day back on nl10p has been an extremely enjoyable day, bad beats were coming and going but they didn't bother me one bit, on one occassion, when I went Ch/Ai on the flop J85, AK calls me which was itself understandable, it then goes on to win with run run straight and all I said in the chat box was "well it's just £10, i've got plenty more of those", when I look back it's telling me clear, i'm happy enough to now make them small losses and know long term it will be winning". My most disappoint part came when I made a call which I knew shouldn't have been made, the opponent bet pot on a turn KJ7hhh Jd, I make the call with KdQh then when he shipped the river I sigh call hoping he was bluffing when deep down I knew he wasn't bluff and i ask why I didn't jam the turn whilst their is still outs for myself.

I haven't had the chance to do my winnings total yet but an estimate of it is a winnings total of £16

Today didn't see me playing that much poker but the small amount of time I did have was certainly eventful. My only chance to play any poker was the 1.5 hours at12:00 before I set off to watch avengers, usually this won't see too much in way of events but today was an extremely eventful one, it started with a hand that didn't even involed myself, what happens is this play does a limp, i open raise then a hero 3bets myself and all of the sudden, the limper shoves his £15.59, i myself folded but the hero takes the chance of calling with his QQ, the villian then turns 109s which is great unless of course he hits a flush as he did and having seen this play decide to just up right away, he decides to take out his anger on someone else and that person was myself. The first bit of anger came when I with 65cc call  953c, what then happened was the turn comes Acc, he bets £1.78 which is about 1/3 of pot and me having improved to a flush draw too, and when the river card comes I get my straight, do a value bet and he becomes even more wound up now that JJ has lost. The interesting thing about this so called bad call I make is that when 3bet the pot the cbet the flop 1097c, he deems the AJcc worthy enough to call because of him having the gutshot and a runner runner flush as outs, something which I myself was viewed as a fish for doing, sady for him this hand didn't give him what he wanted. he himself could debate as much as he liked but the great thing is i myself continued to play my normal game and didn't put his tiltful mood in my way.

today cash tables did make me a small profit £24.17 but as i've been away from MTTs for a number of weeks, i decided to take a try in the main event through a direct entry, i did attempt to gain entry through the semi but having failed, iwent for direct entry as a one off,the MTT itself did see me get off to a great start but then things started to change again, having gained 8000 chips, it didn't take long for me to see them fall, one possible reason for the loss was when i did a semi bluff on turned flush draw when perhap i should have taken the free card, at 100/200 I did see myself get my chips doubled up when my A9 went on to beat AK having 3bet jammed it pre, unfortunately it didn't stay that way because later on those chips wen over to an AK which beat me in a flip situation where i'd 4bet jammed QQ. Once the MTT was over i attempted to play some more cash but didn't remain on long.

overall my day as a whole finished as a small loss of £21.53

I think today poker shouldn't have been played at all, having expected a friend to come over this afternoon, i beginning to feel bored, having waited and waited for him to come 3pm i just give up and went onto poker, although I was determined to play poker at the time, deep down i knew it would prove a high risk because bordom itself will cause stress to build up and when it does build up, my brain will no long be able to think as good when it comes to making decisions as described in the mental game of poker, knowing the amount of stress i could have on sunday, what i'm going to do now is put a 24 hour block onto my account to prevent me from even coming onto the site sunday because i know ery well,  my day will be stressful no matter how newcastle finish.

my total loss today was £65

today hasn't been that bad a day, my total cash is a small loss of £6.12, cash tables alone give me a winning total of £2.24, it was the addition of a semi+ mini havnig made it into the main event that cause me to go into loss,my noon session did start getting emotional when I was unable to see 98 make a fold on the turn card and river card giving him top pair. 5 minutes after this event, I knew it was time to take a break and once I returned I was feeling calmer and managed to make my way into the main event although it was extremely unfortune for opponent because having flopped full house I get myself a strong set on the turn giving me the better full house.

my main event exit was stand but the mini event was more of a silly exit wenhaving been force to play hand in what is limped pot, i get flush draw+gutshot, do a Ch/C down two streets then make my own overbet jam on a rivered flush and when i get called the opponent turned over a limped Q10s gaining the better flush

    overall -£6.12 (2.24- £8.36)

today has been a great day and it seems suprising to think that when talking with some of the other nl10p regs.

My first session of the day was at12pm and didn't start my day in the best of ways,  the tables themselve appeared to have been tight pre flop or on the flop, therefore i myself am going to be taking lots of pots down there and then, the down side to these small pots is that if a cooler or bad beat occurs, i'll be left at a loss which is just how it turned out ot be having lost a pot £36.80 and also £20.39 with two pair getting beat by river straight and myself not hitting river flush having gone all in with flush on turn when attempted bluff failed. This session had an overall loss of £18.52

My second session of the day still my first one in a way, I had only really took a few minute break before going back on, the session itself was the best one of the night, again it was an occurance of masses of pots being won on flops over 50% were likely taken down on flops and the great thing with this session was them bigger losses weren't coming in their masses, 13 hands had a loss over £1 where as 34 had £1+ winnings. One of these nl10 regs I who was on a bad run did get some advice from me on why he might be getting these losses and went on to offer him some tips on ways he can get back to winning ways.

My final session of the night was a 7pm and due to the timing of it, it would come as no suprise to see this one get the most amount of big pots, 70 pots alone were actually £1+ winning and this itself was just 14 short of the total number of winning pots i got between 3pm and 7pm, at a certain point in this session, there was a player that turned into a wind up mood with, luckily enough it seemed to be himself who was getting the negative effects from this, soon he decided to leave the cash table and was trying to get me wound up therefore i'd hid the chat boxes away.

all in all £58.47 has been won today
