Hi Tikay. You have been receiving an awful lot of stick recently on the live shows. I am ashamed to say that i have participated recently. But something you said on last nights show gave me an idea which i think is good on a number of levels. I could post it on the forum but then it will be in public view and spoil the surprise if you wish to act on my proposal. So how do i contact you privately ? I'll need an e-mail address but i need to share this with you fairly soon as time is of the essence. Honestly man it'll be worth it.

    Tikay
I have entered into poker 'premiership' on the purple team, and in each and every tournament so far you would think that no one knew how to play position, stacks or even poker!!!
Some of the plays and calls have been horrendous.
Do you think giving these 'free rolls' encourage people to play bingo rather than poker (thats what i seem to be witnessing)
    cheers

On second thoughts it sounds like you are having a similar problem to someone who posted here: Can't see messages in my inbox

Maybe try using a different browser.

    Hi

Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox to name but 3 are all browsers :), it is just the prog you browse the internet with :)

The one I use to send PM,s etc is Internet Explorer, it seems to woerk the best for me, If you still have problems, stick a thread in the Technical Queries thread, or contact Customer Care, contact details are at the bottom left hand conrner of the page.

    Hello mr kendall.

I started at skypoker yesterday, having watched it on tv for a week or so, i'm a bit of A poker newbie.  I have been told by a friend that the way to win at poker is to be ultra aggressive i just wonder whether he might have a point because for my first night i went to 2p/4p cash tables bet just about everything and came out with double.  Is this actually a profitable way to play poker?  Andrew

hi tikay this is my first post, great show as usual

Played a "Family & Friends" game the other day and i had bottom pair but had a good read on the other player....

He raised on the river and i called

I asked him if he had hit the board he said he had hit a pair of tens (higher than my pair)

I mucked my hand and then he showed Ace High

I know usually as i mucked he wins the pot, but does it make a difference that he called the incorrect hand or no difference at all

    Many Thanks

    Hi telboy

I suppose rules are more relaxed during family and friends games, if you were playing in a card room/casino, it would depend on that particular places rules as to what would happen, for instance, in Vegas, a certain, very well known analyst of ours had a circuit forfeit for talking about a hand, not once, but twice ;)
    Welcome the the forums :)

In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : Hi Covvy, A-A v 7-5 is only about 78% to win, so the 7-5 will win one time in 5, roughly, which is a 4/1 shot. Play the hand 5 times, & you WILL, on average, lose once. Fact. That assumes, of course, that the Aces were played optimally........ A-A v J-10 is a slightly bigger dog, but still only about 4/1. I'm not sure how a 4/1 shot winning equates to "rigging the deal", can you make the connection for me, please? 4/1 shots win every day. Roughly one time in 5, in fact. If they did not, then there would be reason to complain!  It's just like real life, Covvy. We take a beat or two along the way, unfairly sometimes, but if we have character & backbone, we just take them in our stride.

hi there tikay, would just like to say i dont normally get involved with things that dont concern me but covvys post is possibly the worst ive ever read, the site ic certainly not fixed in any way and if you cant handle the swings of no limit then its simple just dont play!! rant over!!

    Hi Tikay
I would just like a bit of advice to improve my game. . . .i haven't been playing for very long. When I enter MTT's, freerolls or buyins I usually get to the first break on an average stack, and usually finish in the last 20%, but can't seem to progress further than this.

Is it just a case of practice, I am I expecting too much as a newbie or is there any tips you could give me to help improve.

    Cheers Tikay

Redraws are done randomly, as far as I know this happens pretty much everywhere.

It's scarier live when you can physically see people's chip stacks - one tournament I played in a few years ago had 3 (8 handed) tables left and the top 5 chip stacks were all on my table!!!

Although I was the chip leader - so not that scary :D

    Hi Mr K

I'm looking for a cheap live cash game.  I've been looking at reviews of cardrooms up and down the country and it looks like a few of them used to have cash games starting at £0.25/£0.50.  From your travels, which casino has the smallest cash games?

    Thanks

I'm quite partial to a continuation bet especially after I have raised and facing just one caller as it often takes the hand down without any bother. I'd sooner win a small pot than lose a larger one. But if I get 2 or 3 callers it makes me very wary of making the continuation bet so I tend to check if I miss. Is this the right approach or am I being a bit too cautious, or is it table dependant?

Tikay. Should I forgo the larger potential payout of tonights main event, to test my skills and prove my worth against the TSP team at 9? Any advice would be gratefully received. Best wishes. Shaun the Villa fan in Bham

    Hi Tikay,

I have just found out that I have the weekend off and would love to play in the SPT Final at Nottingham. Last night their was 277 of 290 places filled. Now the tournement has left the tournement section as per your guideline post. I appreciate it is very late, but is their any way that I can still buy in direct for £220.00?

    Kind regards,

    Grimm

Apologies Grimmy, if you could give me just a little more notice next time, I may be able to assist.

All seats have long been sold, but there are always a few "no-shows", & there WILL be an Alternates List.

Why not come along, & get on the Alts List?

Please be aware that Seats willl be available early next week, via Online Qualification @SkyPoker.com, & direct buy-in for members of the Sky Poker Priority Club, for Leg One of the 11/12 SPT, which is a 6-Max Event at DTD in October. I believe it has been capped at about 180, so I would advise sorting out your seat for that early, if you wish to play it, because it will sell-out within a few weeks.
