    Gee Gees.

When did you last see 12/1 the field?

Tomorrow’s Cambridgeshire is exactly that, & two Firms – SkyBet included – are paying SIX places.

Who do you think will win?

Not ONE of us managed the winner of last Saturday’s Big Race.

    Must try harder.

    Selections please.

    Football

Spurs v Chelsea is the headline game tomorrow.

Both played in the week, away, in the League Cup, & both won handsomely.

Can AVB beat the Special One?

    Score forecasts please.

Visit the Mother in Law for Sunday Tea?

No Sirree, we just want FUN stuff.

    Going anywhere, doing anything?

I’m doing THE weirdest thing on Sunday, but I can’t wait, & I'm pretty excited about it.

    The clue is here…..

So, come on, Team effort, let’s get the thread revved up.   Enjoy it, whatever you do, don’t mind a bit of naughtiness, but do stay safe.

Im going to the NFL on Sunday night which is going to be an experience.  I fancy a flutter but havent a clue about NFL. If someone could enlighten me thatd be great!  Whos going to win?
  • edited September 2013
Well both teams have lost all three of their games so far, so your guess is as good as mine! Pittsburgh are 3 point favourites but I wouldn't trust either team, even with Tikay's money.

I'm off to Axminster Town v Appledore tomorrow, a couple of rungs up the football ladder in terms of status on last week's game, but probably a couple of steps down in terms of facilities. Axminster moved out of their ground at the end of last season and are playing at a temporary venue - Colyton Grammar School - this season, until their new ground is ready.

I expect only temporary dugouts, and school playing fields, so unlikely to be any pretty pictures.

I shall be watching The Greens play Accrington Stanley. I may well be having a chunter afterwards but rest assured I won't be poisoning this thread by posting it. I shall try to suffer in silence.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

    The Fitz!

    Some memories of that place.

The only casino/cardroom I know that used to be a.....Church!

They used to have a Roulette Table reserved every Sunday for ONE special punter, in about 2003 or 2004.

He was about 70, a Farmer, he wore his best Sunday Suit & a trilby hat.

He played as many as FIVE Boxes at a time, & up to €500 per box......! It was incredible to watch.

I asked around, as I was curious as to his background, & where all that money came from.

The source of his money? He was a pig farmer, & all that money was the (then) EEC Pig Subsidy.

Eventually, of course, the music had to stop.

    Getting Knighted?? :)

A well earned days golfing with the lads. Need all the practise I can get after the way I played on Thursday in my first tournament in 18 months
  • edited September 2013

I would say that was fun to watch.
There is no such thing as a poor farmer or there wasn't when the subsidies were about.
I'm sure I read or heard that Julian used to play alot there when he was living here.
Also Dublin beat Mayo in the All Ireland final last weekend so while the poker was a bust at least there was a good win there.

Got a few quid e/w on queensbury rules for the Cambridgeshire. I'm working today and have my girls to pick up for the weekend after that. Nothing too exciting planned apart from going to the park so my youngest can push me on the roundabout :-)

    Hi tikay

    The simple answer is "YES!"

But as a Spurs fan and a football fan in general, it is never easy. I am very nervous about this game, as if we win it could be a real turning point.

Great start to the season so far by Spurs. Won 8 games from 9, and 8 clean sheets, which is an excellent performance with so many new faces to bed into the team. However, the obvious blip was losing to the gooners, and today, we have a similar test. No disrespect to the other 8 teams we have played but they are not in the same class as Arsenal or Chelsea.

So, win today, and things are looking very bright for the future. The 33/1 I took on Spurs winning the league a few weeks ago then would look very good, seeing as we are already 8/1. :)

Lose today, things are still looking good, but i don't want it to be the case that we beat the poor/medicore teams and lose to the big boys. That would be a frustrating season, but still a stepping stone to where we want to be.

So today... May the best team win. Can't wait. COME ON YOU SPURS! Tight game for me today.

    Forecast 1-0

Not playing the tables this weekend

mood and energy not high as my wife is in hospital and has been for 2 weeks following emergency surgery.

As this is not a chunter zone - I am positively looking forward to my 2 visits and the 3 hour plus round trip as my wife is improving and will hopefully be out before next weekend and you cant get more positive than that.

Dipping into the community as a distraction/entertainment and hoping that we can finish the cryptic clue thread soon! My head hurts!

Nice bet Greg, good luck with it.

Spurs are DEFINITELY above average for a mid-table team.

More seriously, two VERY intersting North London arrivals in Paulinho & Ozil, eh?

I wonder if the Manchester pendulum will start to swing London's way soon?

Extremely well (although the emergency surgery was as a result of a problem with the first operation) shall not go into details here - should have been in 2 days but 2nd day needed life saving surgery then spent several days in ICU. Scary times - will certainly put my next bad beat into perspective!

Time for a chunter free post!

Really missed not playing the Orfy and Megastack last night (too much beer) so itching to go today. Deepstacks tonight and this afternoon I may be tempted to play a great value Freezeout on another site. I have a record on there of played 3 won 1 so I'm quids up! I may also dip into a tub of Cate D'or salted caramel while playing mmmmmmmmmm.
