It essentially means Day 1 is split into two (unequal) halves - Day 1a and Day 1b. All players who reach the end of either Day 1 then play all together on Day 2
BIG day today, when the 2nd weekly Final takes p[lace @ 9.15pm.
Direct Entry is eye-watrering @ £240, but there are satelites all day to this, & the 7.15pm Semi-Final (£52).
So far, tonight's Final has 29 runners, so the 5 Guaranteed Seats are covered, but it's easy to think there may be 40 or 45 runners, so @ 1 in 5, 8 ort 9 x £1,100 Seats will be up for grabs tonight.
Hope you are amongst them, these players are already seated for tonight's Final....
secured my seat to the final last night look forward to playing tomorrow night fingers crossed I run good !!!! got in through £5 sat Posted by anisman1
Incredible, a real "living the dream" story. Oh, & welcome to the Community.
I'll keep an eye on your progress this evening, it'd be really something to qualify for a fiver, & end up at Nottingham in February sat amongst the good & great of poker & a few Sports celebs.
Just watching sky poker tv and seeing people who already have a seat playing the final again tonight..Can you get multi entrys for this? dont seem to make sense, but im sure theres a reason

They'll be playing it to get £1.1k cash. Some may have bought in just before the Final starts purely for the purpose of getting the cash then de-reg afterwards.

I am one of these players. I want to play more than just the main at the Fessie and I am attempting to use these Sats to get my Buy ins. That's the sense behind it.
45 players were in last night's weekly final, (some had already qualified) and there are now 18 hardy souls who have a £1,100 seat in February at the Main Event of the Sky Poker UK Poker Championship Main Event, as follows......
Last night's Final was like a Who's Who of Sky Poker, so many familiar names.
TommyD qualified for the 2nd straight week - how does he do it? - & the red-hot form of Swansea's finest export, HAYSIE, got his seat, too. HAYSIE, who has been with Sky Poker since Day One, finalled the SPT Grand Final, followed that up by winning £10 shy of £10,000 in the UKOPS Main, & now this. He is 73 years old, so one for the Old Skool there.
Commisserations - minor - to OCD, who Seat-Bubbled, but got a very pleasing £880 for his efforts.
Commisserations - major - to rivermunky who pure-bubbled.
The portly veteran JAKALLY was close up, as was Bristolian Andrew1947, who was always prominent.
anisman1 - in for a fiver - had a terrific run, finishing 15th, just ahead of SPT specialist IrishRose, with VLV winner kidgirlgy, smitalos, & Derbyshire's MacMonster not far behind.
I8PALACE, bearlyther, beaneh, lJAMESl, Lambert180, SHOGUNS & SNG specialist Nutter5932 were towards the rear of the field, with the likes of the splendidly aggressive & redoubtable COXYLBORO putting in eye-catching but regrettably brief efforts.
The Satellite roundabout starts again today, leading up to next Sunday's 3rd Weekly Final, which will have FIVE Seats Guaranteed.
Also, don't forget the Super-Sat on Thursday evening, in which there will be a Guaranteed seat worth £1,100, & the other 5 Finalists will all get a £240 seat into Sunday's Final.
The Event proper starts in 3 months time, so this early interest is quite remarkable.
On this Thursday's Show, Rob Yong will be the special guest, between 8pm & 10pm, to talk about the Sky Poker UK Poker Championships generally.
Rob is a fascinating, complex, & extremely bright chap, & has done much to change for the better the landscape of B & M based poker in the UK in the last 7 years. He helped introduce better & more innovative structures, bigger Guarantees, & "rescued" the ISPT Wembley thing earlier this year. He featured in one of the Sky Poker Cash Games, too, & finalled an SPT last year.
If you have any questions for Rob, post them either on this thread, the Show Thread on Thursday, or send them to Skyopen@bskyb.com please.
We will have Simon Trumper as a Show Guest in a few weeks time, too. I'll be alongside Rob on Thursday, but the Presenter & Analyst will both get the night off when Simon does his Guest Slot, as he never stops talking - he's worse than Lord Grumpy - so that'll save a few bob on Talent Fees.
...and they will be bidding to join these 20, all of whom have their seat booked to the £500,000 Guaranteed UK Poker Championships, @ DTD in February, which promises a first prize in excess of £100,000.
A happy Monday morning to you all, & especially the 7 qualifiers last night, from the field of 37.
These players all won their £1,100 seat to the Sky Poker UK Poker Championships.......

The unfortunate Seat Bubble was "robusto1" though his or her pain was eased by a £440 prize by way of consolation. No such consolation for "goldtia", who was the Money Bubble.
Good sized field, remarkably so given that the event is still nearly 3 months away, & poker players are notorious for not thinking about Events until a few days in advance. The Super Roller was on, too, which did not seem to harm the UKPC satellite numbers.
The weekly qualifying roundabout starts again today. One seat will be guaranteed in Thursday's 9.45pm Rebuy Super Sat, & FIVE seats Guaranteed again in Sunday's Final.
I managed to sat into the semi final via a £2.60 all in satalite then managed to win the semi final yesterday then i sneaked in with 7th place last night so main event here i come and its the best £2.60 i have spent :0)

Oh Wow! Budget qualifying at its best. A £1,100 UKPC Seat for £2.60, incredible!
I do hope you enjoy the actual experience, too, you may be pleasantly surprised by who else is playing this Event, some serious "names", & not just from the poker world.
Come & say hi before it starts, & I'll give you a big "good luck" kiss.
I may be wrong, but as far as I can see, yesterday was the first time ever that "Brain_BS" had ever played any Tournaments on Sky Poker. If that is indeed the case, welcome aboard Mr Brain, nice start, very nice. Posted by Tikay10
Hi all i qualified last night (some luck, some nice hands). Can someone tell me what players usually do regarding accommodation for the Nottingham tournament?.

Ha, well done Bernie!
Hotels in Nottingham?
There are hotels galore, but most poker players playing at DTD use The Holiday Inn, @ Castle Marina. Make sure you use "Castle Marina", as there is another one, not so well located.
From there, it is about 6 to 7 minutes, & a fiver or so, in a Taxi to DTD, though generally so many players stay there that folks share.
Will this be your biggest ever Tournament, have you got much experience at this level, or even Live?
I was railing the tournament last night from about 3 or 4 tables out and it was amazing the number of players who thought it was a satellite into a big online tournament, not a live event!

The only live games i've played were in Bellagio's 7 years ago. This is by far the biggest, and i'm based in Kent.
I take it from other posts i've read that i can de reg and get £1100?.

I think the only way you get the £1100 is if you qualify again..I know a few weeks ago i said i would be happy with £240 for my ticket, cause im a clueless freeroller/low stakes player and see it as £1100 wasted lol even though its cost me 0 to qualify, so really its nothing wasted, but who knows i may get lucky again

Hi Bernie,
I've not forgotten this, I'll reply later this evening, or in the morning.
For the moment, the post above by moonooooo is, largely speaking, correct, but I'll go into more detail, so that you better understand the reasons, & "why".
