Will get my thread going again soon as i want to be playing abit more by the time we get into September and the weather goes bad again. It should give an extra incentive to work harder if i,m doing my diary.

My BR is abouth the same but i,ll have to go through SS and check. played about 1 hour cash in last 2 months so can,t include that although i know i,m up v. slightly

Although i played 5p./10p the other night and the difference between that and playing 50p/£1 where everyone was at least a cpl of hundred deep at the casino was huge considering the blinds. So much easier in Casino where you get gamblers who,ve had a few drinks , so hope to carry that on some weekends. Will also continue to chase promos on other sites but its pretty qiuet at the mo. Will update on here tho

Got 260pts this month which is most for a while. sattelited into the 2K BH tonight and going to stick to playing some more sats

EDIT (1 hour later) - not made anything since last win - Lost about half of that so time to start playing properly again and try and build up gradually

After a good start early on by sateliting into the 2K BH at 1st attempt it was pretty much downhill after that. Only played for a cpl of hours but bust out of 2 x £5.75 Bounty Hunters as well as the 2K (with just 1 head). i did take 3 heads in one of the £5.75 Bh,s but took a chance on chasing a nut flush draw as i was getting a good price and could have put me in the lead, but missed it and was downwards from there on. Won a cpl of quid at cash but still finished slightly down on the night - Playing a £5.50 PLO8 game was probably my biggest mistake last night. I saw Tikays name there and just jumped in . I,ve got away with it before but really can,t get to grips with that game and its not ideal when your watching a youtube video on the basics of PLO8 whilst playing it at the same time. I blame Tikay for that one

I,ll be playing again tonight though as i,ve also got that Poker Player FR to play. Will probably try some sattelites around the same time

Didn,t start playing till 8pm which was abit later than i wanted to as i,ve missed some of the satlites i wanted to play. Currently playing the Poker Player £500 FR with 441 players but there are a few sat out. I have missed a cpl of hands as i was concentrating on another FR elsewhere.

This was a 500 euro FR with 75 players although you only start with 20 chips and 10 minute blind levels. Luckily i got qq in 1st hand and tripled up to 60 chips and never really looked back. Despite a bad beat at the end i got 100 euros for 2nd place and it was over in 45 minutes.

I,ve only played it once before as its by email invite only . You have to play 5 different slots to qualify but can play 1 cent a go which i did this time costing me 5 cents. i did play it a few weeks back and cashed again but there were only 20 + players then so it looks like its getting more poplular.

i was looking at the 800th million hand promo and after this PP FR i may try and get 50 pts to gain entry into the 5K FR on Wednesday i think it is, but so far so good tonight

EDIT : Played some 5p/10p on 2-3 tables and a cpl of DYM,s and won about £10 on cash. Managed to get to 50pts without losing any money so hopefully i,ll get into the FR tommorow , presuming the 800th million hand is played by about 10.30pm which is looking like it will

No luck in the 5K FR unfornanetly _ best hand was 66 which ran into aces at 150/300 with 7.7k _ Shoved from mid position in unopened pot

Played 3 x 60p AIPF sats for the main but no luck and played a 5p action table on my mobile at my m8,s but ended up playing omaha - Dbld my fiver and thats been it until a cpl of £5 games now - A BH and a 15 min timed

Still not sure about this exit hand. I was thinking he folded as hed done some something previous

Couldn,t really get anything going last night

EDIT : Still feeling a bit rusty and struggling to play more than 3 tables. Did ok at cash but got rivered in a 3 way pot in the 15 min timed game

Also broke one of my golden rules by trying to play with the TV on which never helps. Think i,m about £15-£20 down although still going in the £200 GTd and a £5 BH although i,m down to 750 chips after a loose call . I,ll update tommorow as i,m off to bed after these have finished

Hi Paul,

just thought i'd pop in and say hi as i've just seen this thread in poker chat.

wanted to say firstly how great you are doing, only quickly glanced through, but from £40 less than 2 years ago, to £2.500 is to be admired & congratulated, very well done.

you mentioned that playing live at the casino was easier than playing on-line so would it not pay you to play there all the time, or do you like playing the two together? just thought i'd ask out of interest.

also see you are playing low stakes for your b/r ie; nl10 low buy-in b/h tournaments, etc, are you never tempted to play any higher levels, or have you ever tried to in the past?

anyway mate, keep up the good work...

not tempted to withdraw anytime & treat yourself to a nice present of some kind? only asking 'cos I was & bought myself a 55" tv, something to show for all my hard work, ha ha.

@ Devonfish - I recently had a bit of a brk from poker so am just getting back into it gradually but i do like playing £10 Bounty Hunters as well although i,d prefer to satelite in to anything from £10 and above as i feel i,m losing out by buying directly in. As for cash its something i,ve never quite got my head around which is why i stick to the low levels. I would play at the casino a lot more if we had one in Preston ( There was supposed to be one opening up early this year but not sure whats happened to that) so it means going to Blackpool to play and as i don,t own my own car it makes it a bit more difficult.

I do withdraw from time to time like yourself and have treated myself to a cpl of things including a new computer and monitor and bought some shares in Royal Mail. Any profit in the next year i,d like to put toward my premium bonds as its always nice when you get letters through the door some months with £25 or £50 which has happened on a few occasions.

The main reason i,ve started back online (esp. on Skypoker ) is to get some practise for when September and the colder weather comes in and the traffic should pick up. GL with your latest challenge DV. I do read most of the diarys on here but don,t always post, but as someone said ina post the other day -"Just because you don,t always get replies doesn,t mean to say ppl arn,t reading them". I find them all pretty interesting in there own ways and all the different challenges ppl are setting themselves from micro stakes upwards. I also find them a good learning tool. You can always pick up little tips and bits of advice from other players on here whilst they are going through there ups and downs during their diarys

EDIT : Played for an hour on 4 tables - 2 x cash - 8NL and 10Nl plus £3 DYM and £5 15 min timed. I know some ppl would say its not ideal to mix up different type games at the same time but its pretty qiuet with not to many options. Lost the £3 DYM but won on the other 3. It wasn,t much but more satisfying was getting some more notes as a lot of my notes are out of date now so 1 aim is to keep up with the note taking

glad to read about your computer & monitor treat. as to playing cash, i found it hard to make any inroads with it myself so i understand why you are playing nl10. i think it is arguably the hardest discipline to win at so maybe the one that will take the longest time to learn. just my thought.

as to your toothache, i feel for you, phone up the dentist asap & get it looked at. i had tooth ache for almost 8 yrs before it finally ended... long story, so i know all about pain

Just on the break of my last game tonight

Going on for ages - A $6 dollar - 10 minute blinds 1k GTD with 262 runners - Down to 19 on brk

There wasnt much traffic at around 2am on here so played 5 games on 888 incl a biazzare FR with 1484 runners where i came 14 th for a whopping $8 ( The FR didn,t have any requirements to get in like pts or waegring on casino - couldnt help thing - shame it wasn,t a £10 game tho)

Also min -cashed in anonther strange game which i don,t normally play - A 1 dollar rebuy turbo where you can rebuy 1500 chips for 99c which seems a bit crazy when you can late reg 70 mins in and just take the 3 addons allowed of 10k chips giving u a start of 30k. Anyway got a min cash for $30 after 1 rebuy and 3 addons for 4 dollar and just gone out of the $6 str8 after the brk with my top pair against 2 pairs as i wirite this- I had 12bb,s - Got $16 but main thing tonight was really enjoyed playing and getting my appetite bk for it after feeling rusty recently

I also got a min cash in a Fr on ipoker with a 1 euro token - I was going out so tried losing my chips by going all in on 27 , 73 . 7, 8 and couldn,t lose. I t was ridicoulous (got loads of abuse in chatbox) and in the end i didn,t have to go out so started playing it properly although thats when the bad bts started. Was in lead from 861 starters for a while but finished 27th for about 7 euros - Got some bigger freerolls coming up this weekend so along with some satelites i,ll hopefully be doing well in them too

On a more positive note i got a £300 bonus money win of a free bingo game last night. Managed to turn it into £800 which would be my biggest ever win (Poker or bingo) . Only problem is that the site is run by a company who i got a warning off a cpl of years ago for playing to many free games on one of their sister sites but i,ve cut those down as it does state in the t,cs and c,s "No more than 3 a day". I,ve also had a £300 cash win of another one of their sister sites since in a no-lose game but i,ll just have to sweat it for up to 7 days although i,m trying not to bank on it (Still got £100 of prebought tckts for other games as well). So might have been a good night after all

Edit - Had a little session tonight (Friday am 5.30)- Played a £5 DYM a £3 15 Mins and a cl of low stakes cash. I finished a while ago but have stayed on this Mastercash 5p/10p table as its quite loose and a lot of gambling going on. I,m level on the cash but got a chance of doubling up and won on the STT,s (dont like playing 1 table but gonna give it another 10 mins as i,ve had no hands yet but just above level still and plenty of value on this table))

Finally - It wasn,t quite the dbl i was hoping for but after winning a cpl of smaller pots before this i won a pot against the guy i was targeting and its now 6.40 am so will give it 2 more orbits

I was always calling him down here although i would play it differently against other opponents. Didn,t want to scare him off as he,d been bluffing and pretty much playing this hand the same way

Laid out £22 for 3 games - £5.75 speed BH, £5 Timed and £11 BH.

Not looking good after busting out of the 15 min in 1st hand with JJ vs KK AIPF. I,d do that again tho in those games . There was also an extra 300 in pot. Then this just happened in £5.75 speed BH : ( had 1 bounty)

Edit - Just lost a 6-1 chip lead for a $109 seat (satted in for $3- 4 players with one sat out. Still in lead but only 40% of chips with no -one out yet -

wow - as i wote this just got chip lead bk - got it all in on flop with kj on j high board - he called my shove with j2 - turn was 2 - river a king. That would have been a tought bt

Played the FR for 6 x £48 UKPC sat seats - did take a brief lead but ran AK into KK twice

Just laid out £20 on satllites for tonight on Sky - Mainly £2.40 ones but one for £6

My STT, MTT is on a bit of a downwarwd curve so could do with something happening

Its my bday today so hopefully a bit of luck wouldm,t go a miss

EDIT : Need to stop writing posts while playing - just missed KK in £2.40 sat

Howebver the £5.50 sat couldn,t be going much better : Had this hand to put me in lead with 5 left - Knocked out someone else nxt hnd to get to 21k so 1st of 4 with 2 sts gtd

I had a feeling if he had the queen he wudda shoved or raised - not called - hence the bluff on river

2 hands later lost an AIPF AK vs 8 10 but got it back with AK vs K 10 a cpl of hnads later ( very up and down)

EDIT : The curse of this tourney continues - Got from 4k to .6.5k but lost huge pot when losing a FH to a bigger FH and then someone finsihed me off with a bad bt AIPF. No heads again

Just thought i,d do a quick update while the brks are taking place

Played a cpl of Freerolls on Sky for UKPC semi seats and 2K BH seats but no luck and bust out of both.

Going slightly better on another site with 3 freerolls to play 1 x 250 GTD , 1 x 500 GTD and 1 x 2K GTD (euros) all with between 160 and 390 players. Managed to dbl up in 2 of them and triple up in one although only been running 25 minutes. There are about an average of 3/9 players in each game sat out which will obv help.

Will probably sign up to some games on here as i begin to go ut of these FR,s

(Just missed on laying Tiger Woods for top ten finish on the exchanges for the US PGA nxt week after he looked like he was struggling today) but he,s pulled out and they arn,t taking bets anymore

EDIT : Slipped down a bit from the good start but still in all 3 FR,s at the 2nd brk -20th/43 in the 250 GTD. 44th/75 in the 500 GTD. And 26th/170 in the 2K GTD

RE-EDIT : Go to the 3rd brk after 2 and 1/2 hours in 2 from 3 games. crashed out of the 500 GTD with ak vs JQ AIPF when he rivered a str8. Min cashed for 4 euro

Currently 12th/15 in the 250 GTD and 13th/64 in the 2K but got bluffed with 9 high in a big pot . I knew he was loose aggro but after a pre raise with 29 i couldnt make the hero call with my ace high

EDIT - Gone in the 500 GTD for 6 euros in 10th bubbling the FT with my 44 vs AQ. 1 game left to make an FT

Re-EDIT nxt brk and still in the 2K FR on the cash bubble with 41 left . Currently in 11th , so its looking like 3 out of 3 cashes but no FT,s as of yet

EDIT : Think i,ll call it a night - Went from 4th of 22 to 19th of 22 when i shoved on button with JJ and ran into AK which would have taken me into the lead but for another river.

Just bust aces with my 44. Unfortanely i didnt get the full dbl up as i,d been left short stacked by the last hand but got 20 euros locked up leaving me with at least 30 euros for the night. I,ll update if i make FT

Just playing satelites and £5 bounty hunters and 5p action. Lost a bit of confidence but hopefully some good news on the bingo front as it looks like i,m gonna get paid out..Touch wood anyway. Had another little win of £37 earlier as well on a sister site.

Will update roll when i get a bit of a win - or even a winning day. Lost in so many BH,s recently and can,t seem to get more than 1 head in about 3 games and also don,t like adding up losses

Was just finishing off the orbits when ran QQ into AA AIPF and rivered for a FH vs my str8. Faired better in the £5 timed games getting a 600% profit on 1. Just watching the show on tape and managed to get picked out for a £10 turbo tuesday seat next week. I tried about 10 60p AIPF satelites tonight but didn,t get past the first table so won,t have to go through that again

IF you want my advice, I'd say that McIlroy is a pretty good each-way bet at the moment - the man's on FIRE ATM and can do little wrong - seemingly came from nowehere this past weekend to BINK the WGC Bridgestone away from Garcia - what Sergio can do to bag a win (or not)

As far as anyone else goes - well it's all "RANDOM" I'd say!

Down about £15 with games to play . £5 BH,s and 3 x DYM,s and £2.40 sats.

Laid out about 40 and got about £24 back. I did play the 5K Main turbo after receiving a free seat from last weeks show but after a promising start couldn,t let my aces go on flop when missed. Did manage to satilite into a $35 dollar game tommorow night elsewherefor $3. Its a $25K GTD with a good structure so should be fun to play

EDIT - Just foled kings. I was messing around on something else. It cost me 2 heads and a triple up. Its a mistake i,ve made to many times

Yes I did have a bold pop on Rory winning the USPGA, however at the time of my bet, I only had a small amount in my Sky account and so only popped around 10p on him, however, I got around 70p back for my little wager, so can't complain! I don't mind making small little wagers, as if they don't "come off" then It's not really caused me much of an issue has it! lol

What with the decimation of Southampton's Squad over the summer and the fact that ponchetino has gone to manage my beloved Spurs, I am really thinking of plumping a few pennies on Southampton being relegated this year, and also on Koeman being gone by Xmas - Whatcha recon?

As for Poker, Hows yr BR going? Just starting my new challenge having made my FIRST significant deposit, and are slightly down after three sessions...another one planned for later, I play mainly DYM's and the occasional small stake MTT (EG £1.10 DTD Deepstack on Monday)

Hi Gary

I put a saver on Rory halfway through the last round as i had Fowler and Mickleson when they were two shots clear, so at least i madea profit albeit smaller than if Fowler or Mickleson had won it.

My BR has gone down a bit . Only played 3 games on here tonight . Min cash in the FR, lost a £5 15 min timed and yet again didn,t take a single head after sateliting into the 10K BH Main. Since i started this diary i,ve played about 10 £30-£50 Bounty Hunters and only remember taking 1 head. This time i flopped a flush but someone had flopped a better flush and left me with 20 chips. Can,t complain to much as thats what happens in MTT,s . Could do with binking one soon tho

As for Southampton i think they,re to many bad teams in the Prem leaugue this season for them to go down but might have a look and see what price they are. I reckon if they,re down there by Christmas they could probably buy there way out of trouble with the money they,ve made in this transfer window

That was from 2 posts ago and yet i folded aces pre-flop twice last night.

I am struggling at the moment with my game and confidence and this is one of the mistakes that is easily rectified so i,ve come up with some ideas to get back to playing at my best which hasn,t been happening since i started playing again after a cpl of months brk during the hot weather. I,ve told before that i mess about to much whilst playing - facebook,emails etc and even posting on here while in the middle of 2 or 3 games

1/ Prepare for sessions properly so i can fully concentrate without being distratced

2/ Spend at least half an hour a day on reviewing hands and reading or watching tutorials which is something i,ve always struggled with. I,ve been on the forum for years but hardly ever venture into the poker clinic

3/ For the time being don,t play more than 4 tables and take notes whereveer possible

4/ Be more selective in the games i play rather than log in and jump str8 into the first games going

As my BR has taken a bit of a knock in recent weeks hopefully this might change things. I don,t mind losing but when its down to mistakes on my part - thats the frustaring bit. If it hadn,t been for the "deposit £66 promo" my BR would be a lot worse off (below 2.5k)

EDIT : Finally got a head in a BH. Satted into the 2K BH from £2.40 and got 3 heads but lost big pot when i got it all in on 10 high board with k10 . Can,t beleive he called with 2nd pair . Just had to fade an 8 but the turn brought an 8. He had £10 on his head as well. The one positive thing to take is my records in satelites which have been the only good thing in recent weeks. Might start buying in to the target tournaments and just taking the cash. Lost a £5 DYM so only up a cpl of quid

Not updated for a few days as i,ve been away . Played the final week of the Silver fox leaugue earlier. Only caught the last 3 weeks of it from 8 weeks so needed a 2nd place to qualify in top ten for a future 2.5K FR in about a month. Only 32 players but took it down for £22 and GTD to be in top ten now so should be a good game to look forward to

Played 1 x £2.40 satelite on here and an AIPF £3 satelite but with no lcuk and built another little BR challenge i,m doing at micro cash on another site from $44 to $61

1st night back playing for a while so well happy with result. Could just do with my luck continuing on here)

Personally i,d wait until something better comes along. No doubt it will be awarded in increments when you,ve played so much and just think there are better offers out there than this one. I think its good to hve rolls on other sites and you can spend more time on certain sites from month to month depending on the promos they,re offering. Good to see you still enjoying your poker which what its all about for me anyway ( and most micro -low players like ourselves)

Just read Dons diary and thought i,d get mine going again and with the change in weather seem to have more time to play.

Have lost track of BR over last 80 days but have had a cpl of decent results in last 10 days after and few weeks off. I,ve been at my m8,s a few nights teaching him to play which in turn has defianetly helped me and now i learn things from him. Its suprising how much someone can learn in a short space of time after knowing the basis

Because we were at his we played under his alias so he gets the credit on sharkscope

(((. He,s up to 77 although it is a small sample size. But we won a £10 BH with 48 players and a cpl of hundred on Punta Carna overlay . He didn,t have enough on his account though one night and he couldn,t buy into the Punta Carna Semi after sattelitid through a freeroll and settled for £136 of overlay so basically losing out on the £170 seat which we could have redeemed and saved £44. (Didn,t want to gamble that much as well).

I can,t put my roll as i,ve only got a rough idea so will have to guestimate tommorow and re-start this or maybe just start a new roll with some new targets

My m8s laugh but still playing a bit of bingo. Its all free and no-lose or some kind of promo and got my biggest single win on it for £226 Jackpot for under 40 calls at 35. It all came to about £270 but looked back on previous jackpots and mine was the least in a few months . Someone said in the chat box they had won £1200 on it the week before and on some sites 35 calls would catch a few grand

Thinking about ressurecting my diary after over a year out of the game. (played the odd one) but due to life stuff i,ve not been playing so im kind of learning to play again, although they say its like riding a bike.I,m sure its changed a lot tho (so any tips or pointing out mistakes would be apprecaiated)

The main changes will be the time spent. I put to many hours last time in and that didn,t help towards my other issues.

Basically I,ve just spent the best part of 6 months in rehab due to drug addictions but now after staying clean and working on my DABS (destructive attitudes and behaviours) the future and my general outlook on life is much more positive and i,ve got a lot to look forward to. They say its the hardest thing you,ll ever do and they wern,t wrong there but also the best and most rewarding thing i,ve ever done.

So now the poker will just be recreational and a bit of fun. Its not about the money anymore . Its about enjoying a hobbie that i love to play

Only played the £200 GTD tonight for £5.50 but a very enjoyable game and a bonus to get a min cash
