In Response to Re: Sky Poker UKPC Six Max: The £500,000 GTD Main Event : Depends if he thinks he has an edge Posted by HiJoker
I don't think so.
He hasn't got an edge if he folds here. And nobody has much edge off 30 BBs unless there is somebody really terrible at the table anyway.
He is favourite post flop and the pot was 3 bet pre, so there is going to be more than half a million in the middle. 1.5 m would put him 6th in chips, so can't believe ICM is going to be that much of a consideration (if they both had 7m the answer could be different).
Overall he just has to close his eyes and go for it.
He definitely shouldn't be upset afterwards. He lost a near flop, and am fairly sure he was the K2 vs KK guy. If he was he'd need to have serious short term memory loss to be upset here.
Sounds like a great time was had by all (except the guy who just went out in 7th and threw his toys out of the pram). Hope the Sky regs end up 1st, 2nd 3rd and so on lol. Many thanks for the fab updates - much appreciated Posted by IrishRose
Would dearly love to be in that position to make a call or fold but clearly not talented enough to get that far in a tournament such as this. Way to go Joesman and win it for the geordies

I didn't realise he was actually a slight dog here. I still suspect there was enough in pre to mean he should call. His reaction is clearly ridiculous. If he did try an angle even more so.

I think a key point missed was that at 40k bb, there was a 105k open, then a 3bet to 540k!!!
which our man called from approx 1.8m
clearly a glaring mistake
the flop is alot toughter though and i think he has to call - 1.3m behind, 1.2m in the pot (3.8m after the jam and call) with 45% equity. even considering ICM i think you can only give up a few % in equity for an "ICM fold".

Yep, clearly should fold pre, but that wasn't the question asked.
Absolutely has to call with that much in pre. What flop was he hoping for if he folds here.

players are having their TV interviews, tikay is in make up and the way we plan to do this on here is to do a walkie talkie system
tikay gives me the action from table side and i type it in, as many hands as possible onto here
someone else will do pictures and videos
that gives us the best chance to do an update where Sky Sports are doing their thing and its tricky to get close to the table with laptop.
