Life goes on,here's a little story I would like to share.i am not a great fan of ladies having tattoos as I think the female form is beautiful as it is,now my lovely daughter,(who was the cool kid at school with a wicked sense of humour and very very pretty, I know I am her dad but it is true.) has had a few tattoos which I have expressed my opinion on, yeah I know it's her body, life etc etc,but we have a very good relationship and we can talk to each other about pretty much anything, except them mother daughter things of course. I took her in town yesterday to buy my good lady wife a birthday present and the conversation turned to tattoos and she told me about her new one which I expressed my disdain,it is a playing card, the king of hearts with a banner running through it which is empty. She said dad it's about you cos you are the king of my heart, you play poker and when you finish your treatment I am putting the date in the banner...I almost had a tear in my eye. We got our replacement suite Friday as the first one was a bit falling to pieces ish, there is a media unit in the centre of it which baffles me but luckily enough my wife is intelligent enough to work it, today we are doing the house cleaning with the iPad playing 70,s and 80,s music through the suite. Stand by me by ben e king came on and the wife and I had a smoothie dance to it,life doesn't get any better than this! Poker wise I fin 2nd in £2 bounty hunter, happy days. Posted by tomgoodun
Crikey Tom, I nearly had a tear in my eye just reading that.
You are most kind thank you, I am playing the mini bounty huner at present, chip leader with 11 left. its midnight and I get up at 4.30 am. Either I move allin every hand or sit out and go to bed....
Thank you all for the congrats, I am so chuffed at the timing of the cash, not the late hour but today is my good lady wife's birthday. I have withdrawn most of the cash and it will go towards the meal I am taking her and the kids tonight. Thanks to Alan for the rail, glenelg for being such a gent at my table, Dave solar caro likewise, essexphil,so sorry I knocked you out when you were on for a slice of the jackpot, hope you did well in the main.
Good luck at the tables all you fine folk.
Last word has to go to Mr Kendall, how you find the time to post on my little blog is beyond me,but very much appreciated.tc.
Lovely story about your daughter Tom! GL with everything xx Posted by mrsduck
Thank you very much for your best wishe s, good luck, I do have a read of your delightful blog and it cheers me up to see someone as nice as you in this pokeramo. Hope your fortunes change for the better soon.x
hi tom your story about your daughter made me chuckle and brought a bit of Deja vu I bet your the kind of dad who blows a gasket at some of the outfit she goes out on the town in but deep down us girls know you parents have our welfare at heart although some times its not cool to admit it. its great that we know us kids can bring problems to the table and its easy to see you have a great family unit.
my older sister tells the tale of when she 18 and going to college she came home and said she was going out on a trip to sample Newcastle's night life with her class mates dad was horrified and said she couldn't go, when heatedly pressed as to why he mumbled that he'd read in the paper about people going missing in Newcastle then turning up days later after having a kidney surgically removed. big sis replied along the lines "ffs you cant seriously think I'm going to say that I cant go to Newcastle because my dad says somebody might pinch me kidneys" well due to the rural location of where we live, sis not being able to drive and dads taxi service being on strike sis made a more plausible excuse and reluctantly missed the booze up.
two years later when on holiday in turkey with the girls she took ill had to be brought home and had to have kidney removed her first words to dad after the operation were "I'm so pleased you wouldn't let me go to Newcastle that night " you see tom you dads do know best some times.
I hope you had a great celebration for your good lady's birthday tonight and all got home with your kidneys safely intact.
Morning Tom. How do you plan to spend Christmas this year? Any different to usual, or, "more special"? Also, I don't like to pry, so feel free to swerve, but how is your treatment progressing? Posted by Tikay10
Hi, my sister and her husband are coming to stay with us this Xmas,as far as doing anything different from the norm I don't think so but my good lady wife may come up with something ,also my sister loves going to the casino so you never know:)
I have radiotherapy planning session on the 4th December which involves having a CT scan to plan where they will be placing the radioactive rods when I have my brachytherapy. I have an appointment at the docs on the 28th November.for my hormone injection which stops my testosterone production, which makes the cancer dormant,or so I believe.
I haven't been feeling too great this week, prob due to stress at work,I am my own worst enemy really as I should be taking it easy but for one reason or another I have been doing more hours,I have been putting a note on my time sheet to bank the extra hours I work for when I need them for appointments.
I don't want special treatment but it seems some folk are forgetting or indeed ignoring my ongoing condition and are going out of their way to make things really difficult for me,then again it may be that I am particularly vulnerable to everyday issues, upsetting at times so I just have to take myself away and sit down for 5 mins and start again.
I am a very open person so no I don't think you are prying at all,in fact I am very grateful for you taking the time to care and ask me how I am.
I hope you feel better now,I must say - e.cigs:) I sent my sister one last week and she is over the moon with it,she was a smoker for 40 odd years and is now down to 2 a day and talking of packing them in for good.
I hope you have a healthy and happy holiday season( never know what to call it
Good luck at the tables,I will say hi when we meet on the virtual felt, oh and while I am in the mood for it.what I would really like is a card from skypoker bigwigs saying happy Xmas you are formally invited to take part in our new satellites for our upcoming spt sorry I just couldn't resist.

Aww Dale you are a big softy at heart ,love it. I bet you are really appreciated at home, kids ey,they make you tear your hair out at times then with a few kind words it takes you back to them being a child in your arms.
Well, this evening I was playing at a table and piped up with a bit of a cooler I suffered in the bounty hunter, someone who I had never spoke on the tables to (and who had been chatting merrily to his "mate")pretty much berated me for having the temerity to post in the chatbox, when I tried to ask why he was trying to alienate and ridicule me he didn't seem to grasp the concept of why I was a tad miffed. #sickofit.
there's some very ignorant people about tom manners cost nothing was one of the mantras I was brought up with. the first table i was on tonight I wished everybody good luck before we started as i always do, not a squeak out of anybody not even when I added a sarcastic good luck blondie to myself. maybe i was unlucky and stumbled on the agm of the trappist monks society. don't let the odd miserable sod get to you as you know yourself there's loads of nice friendly people play on sky poker. the very first comment I received in the chat box when I first started to play on here came after making a dodgy call was "you are" obviously a reference to my nom de plume and sadly my poker skills. keep your chin up tom and don't let the odd bad apple get to you your better than them. That's a great Post.
Tom, ignore that nonsense, every barrel contains a bad apple or two.
As you know, because you play a few PLO8 DYM's with "the gang", almost every one of them wishes the others "good luck" when it starts, & exchange a few pleasantries. It's just good manners.

Hi Db, thanks for the kind words, yes you are right I suppose.tbh I was feeling a bit low on the evening in question and was rather sensitive to sarky comments, usually I would just laugh it off and baffle them with my outrageous play Oh I just won the 2qd deepstack btw (brag) Good luck to you on the tables and keep smiling.x

Good evening, yes of course you are right, as I mention above I think I was being a bit sensitive and he was trying to impress his mate with his posts. it was a bit like walking into a pub and there are 2 blokes chatting and you say hi and they just look at you and say "who are you and what do you want "sort of thing, I just couldn't resist biting back, I really should have kept my counsel and moved on. PL08..great game , lovely folk, I was doing quite well at the start of maca's challenge , then the variance set in luckily enough I have balanced it out by winning the 2 qd deepy tonight, I seem to do well in that particular one,, suits my game I guess. Is there any way I can check how many times I have won it? (just to boost my flagging ego of course good to see you are on the mend, tc and good luck.
Puts everything into perspective. I wish you all the best with your treatment and I'm sure you'll come out the other end fighting fit and taking down more mtts.

Thank you Alan (I remembered this time) or have I just broken your seal of anonymity I really enjoy this game and last night was particularly good as I am off work this week due to the doctor insisting I take time off to rest, I rang the boss at work to ask if it would be ok to work in the office and he told me to stay at home on full pay, lovely gesture. I hope it's still there next week, I mean how will they manage without me;)
I appreciate you taking the time to post, good luck on the felt my good man.
Just caught up with your thread Tom. Puts everything into perspective. I wish you all the best with your treatment and I'm sure you'll come out the other end fighting fit and taking down more mtts. James Posted by Donttelmum

Oh I just remembered, well done on your punta Cana trip/ experience, I read your blog on the subject and it was most informative and a great read, sounds like you had a wonderful time, unlucky with the k 10, that's the way it goes ey, but it's hard at the time to take in, I mean, when I was at wsop ( cue audience leaving lol )
can I add my congratulations on your hard fought win in dtd 1 last night well done tom Posted by dumb_blond[/QUOT
Thank you very much, and ta for the rail,I find I get a bit tired and bored at that time of night and tend to lose focus and just shove any 2, but as I had a cheerleader I couldn't let you down when it got down to the last 3 I felt I had an edge and was super confident of taking it down, that's 2 in a week now,I'm great me aaand I'm back in the room. Good luck to you and take care. X
