An amazing turnout for the first of the £10,000 Viva Las Vegas Semi Finals last night - 4 seats were guaranteed, but it made 7 (SEVEN) seats & £880 for 8th.
The VLV Final on May 24th already has 19 runners. It will need 50 to cover, but with 8 more weekly finals currently scheduled, it should get there early, & with ease.
Is the 3.2k Vegas Semi and Final correct in the tournament lobby? The semi and the final both start at 8:45 on Saturday, the semi has a 10 minute blind structure. Surely anyone getting through from this satellite will be so short stacked in the final it's not worth them playing...
I know sometimes they do have these sort of satelites for main events, but they blind structure is normally about 3 or 5 minute blinds not 10. I'm guessing this is an error, because the satellites aren't exactly cheap at that stage!
This is the first week I'll be able to give it a go, but no point if that is the correct schedule.
Just looking at it again, it can't possibly be right. The semi has a late reg of 60 minutes and the main is 96 minutes. That means the semi needs to finish within 36 minutes of reg closing which is very unlikely!

Hi Charles,
Agree, something does not look right there.
The Blurb Page specifically states that the (£3,200) Semi-Finals take place at 8.45 every Saturday EXCEPT the 3 Saturdays when there are Finals - one of which is this Saturday.
I'll have a word with them Upstairs, bear with us please.

Hi (again...) Mr O.
You were, as I would expect, abso righto.
It is being corrected as follows:
The Semi-Final to the £3,200 jobbie THIS Saturday (& presumably the other two "Final" Saturdays) will be moved forward to 6.45pm. The Blinds in the Semi Final will also be reduced to 7 minutes, to negate or minimise overlap.
I've noticed that some professional players who are never or rarely seen on the site are playing at the semi-final stage and I'm sure more will register for the final.
Of course they have every right to do this, but while sky regulars are feeding countless satellites then being picked off by professional players at the later stages then something doesn't sit right. That's not quite what VLV is meant to be about - giving the average Joe the chance to go to Vegas.
I'm not sure if the above is seen as an issue to be solved (or if there is a ready solution). Anyhow, a couple of things I'd like to see:
1. A VLV final that can only be accessed by those who have gone through all the sats.

why is this wrong.
Do you have the right to buy into this system ? Yes
Does john the poker pro have the right to buy into this system ? Yes
Wheres the issue?
IMO its better for sky anyways, if someone goes deep with a sky patch on its good for the site. With all due respect i think the high stakes pro is more likely to provide that than ur average guy trying to spin up from £2 with some chips and a dream.

5 x £10,000 packages are Guaranteed, meaning it needs 50 qualifiers to cover.
As I understand it from Suit City, they will CLOSE REGISTRATION & cancel all further qualifiers once they reach 50 runners, as they are not currently planning to allow more than 50 runners.
If, for example, they are at 48 qualifiers with several weeks to spare, they will just run one more Semi-Final with 2 seats, so that they don't overshoot the 50 mark.
So, if you plan to have a bash at qualifying, don't leave it too late.
I am not 100% certain on this, but it's my understanding of their probable course of action.
I seem to have got a tad behind with this thread, so a quick update. Last night's Semi-Final to the £10,000 package made 4 seats, with £606 for 5th place. defstan290 38207.50 1 £10k Vegas Final Bretticus7 24670 2 £10k Vegas Final RUNITSRANN 22402.50 3 £10k Vegas Final beefy777 6720 4 £10k Vegas Final f3nix35 0 5 £660 Posted by Tikay10
Well done to all. Yours truly bubbled in 6th. I even sat there (when shortest stacked) as the second shortest got it all in with K 10 and was called by A 10. So I just need the dominating hand to hold up for a guaranteed £660 then. Must have a chance of that happening, surely?
The board comes 8,8,8,x .........10. Yup the river splits the pot and a few minutes later I'm out in 6th.
You know you're running badly when you run bad in pots you're not even in!

Congrats to all.
Never been to Vegas?
Here's the first of a 6 part series with the what, how, when & why. Plus a Tale from the Table, from way back in the past.

There was a Viva Las Vegas Freeroll last night, for a £3,200 package, & the winner was....
oioi
Last night's Vegas Semi-Final needed 20 runners to cover the 4 seat Guarantee.
It got 35 runners, & 7 seats, well done the super seven.

All aboard the Vegas train, woo-woo.

Have sent a note up, Charles.
Either they, or me, will get back on here later with the answer.
You got a pass for Vegas from indoors?

Thanks for the steer, it's appreciated.
The Lobby will be corrected tout de suite
