The Colossus is over and the winner of the largest live poker tournament in history is 25 year old pro from Houston, Cord Garcia. His first WSOP cash was for $638,880 beating online player Brad McFaland heads-up.
WSOP10 - $10K Heads Up Championship, 143 entrants, Day 3 of 3
The accusations of cheating in earlier rounds have taken the gloss off the 10K heads-up, and perhaps even more so when the winner has some murky accusations against him in the past too.
Keith Lehr won the tournament, beating Paul Volpe heads-up to claim his second bracelet (the first dates back to 2003) in a final that lasted just 24 hands.
WSOP11 - $1500 Limt Hold'em, 660 entrants, Day 3 of 3
William Kakon is the victor of the Limit tourney, the Moroccan-born American-based businessman who is a limit specialist (coming 6th in a similar event a few years ago) won $196055 and of course the coveted gold bracelet. He beat Daniel Needle man heads-up in an event that saw players flagged as American finish in the Top 7 places, Brandon Cantu in 8th being the best known. (name of runner-up spaced to get around over-zealous filter)
WSOP12 - $1500 NLH, 1651 entrants, Day 2 of 3
25 players left, and a decent GB showing with Iaron Lightbourne, Craig McCorkell & Steffen Sontheimer all still alive. Steve Billirakis holds the overnight lead trying to claim his third bracelet, Geoffrey Rasmussen & Brett Radin tucked in behind.
Other GB cashers - Patrick Leonard (35th, $7355), John Gale (75th, $4390), Darren Dalgeish (105th, $3610) & Ben Warrington (122nd, $3276)
WSOP13 - $2500 Omaha/Stud Hi-Lo 8 or better, 474 entrants, Day 2 of 3
Brandon Paster is the Day 2 top dog, leading 39 other players to come back tomorrow to play for the bracelet and the $269K top prize. With that many still left though, I wouldn't be surprised it it went to a Day 4.
Ben Dobson is the only GB player left after Philip Long was eliminated for a min-cash of $4733 just before the end of the day. Also still involved: Barry Shulman, Scotty Nguyen, Eric Buchman & John Racener & James Obst.
WSOP14 - $1500 NLH Shootout, 1000 entrants, Day 1 of 3
This one maxed out at 1000 players, so 100 10-handed tables in the first round. A small smattering of names with the Union Flag against them in end of day chip counts - Terance Donakey, Pablo Fernandez Campo and Stephen Chidwick. Also there, Andreas Hoivold, Dominik Nitsche, Dennis Phillips, Rep Porter, Pratyush Buddiga, Justin Bonomo & Matt Gianetti.
WSOP15 - $10K Pot Limit Hold'em Championship, 128 entrants, Day 1 of 3
Some very pleasing numbers for afficionados of Powers of 2 here, with 128 entrants and 64 of them making Day 2. Roberto Romanello is right up there with the chip leaders, being in 3rd position overnight behind just Josh Arieh & Shaun Deeb.
Belgian double-bracelet winner Davidi Kitai is inside the Top 10 along with Isamel Bojang who's made a FT here already. Marvin Rettenmaier, Scott Siever, Faraz Jaka, George Danzer, Todd Brunson, Joseph Cheong, Antonio Esfandiari, Greg Merson, Daniel Negreanu, Taylor Paur and many other pros inhabit the chip counts, as does two other GB players, Oleksii Khoroshenin and Ludovic Geilich, who has the smallest stack of all going forward.

Unfortunately we start with a near-miss as Iaron Lightbourne (despite starting heads-up with a 2:1 lead) went behind and couldn't get back on terms. Both Lightbourne and the winner, Israeli Idan Raviv, are 24-year old pros on the up. Raviv also took the $457K first prize, with Lightbourne taking a little over $283K.

With Event 12 over, the Brit rail moves to Event 13 and supporting Ben Dobson. Three remain as the tournament goes into an unscheduled fourth day, with Hani Awad having the lead, Dobson in second and Russian Konstantin Maslak in third. All three have guaranteed themselves a six-figure payday.

The second round has been completed and we have one Taiwanese player (Huichen Kuo), one Russian (Anton Smirnov) and eight Americans (Orson Young, Daniel Strelitz, Benjamin Zamani, former November Niner Dennis Phillips, Grayson Ramage, Elizabeth Montizant, Randy Pfeifer & Barry Hutter)

3347 players played the first flight of the Millionaire Maker, and after play ended for the day, exactly 500 of them have bagged up chips for Day 2.
Tomas Altamirano is the chip leader, with Brian Rast the first of the big names lying in 3rd position. Niall Farrell is just outside the Top 20, Leon Lewis, Trevor Whiteway & Andrew Fleming are in the middle of the pack, Charalompas Lappas (shown as from Brighton, Greece), Toby Lewis and Chris Bjorin are in the bottom half.

Let's start with the second near miss for a British bracelet in as many days. Ben Dobson unfourtnately busted first on the extra day's play, leaving him to pick up 3rd place prize money of over $105K.
The heads-up between Heni Awad & Konstantin Maslak took about an hour and a half, with the Russian eventually getting the better of it.
WSOP14 - $1500 NLH Shootout, 1000 entrants, Day 3 of 3
This one went to Barry Hutter who got the better of Ben Zamani for the jewellery and $283K. It was the 29-year old pro from Florida's third cash this summer on a final table that took nearly 11 hours to play out.
Dennis Phillips took third with the two female players Kitty Kuo (who I was caught out with yesterday when the WSOP used her real name) & Elizabeth Montizanti fourth and fifth.
WSOP15 - $10K Pot Limit Hold'em Championship, 128 entrants, Day 3 of 3
It was a good day for 29-year olds at the WSOP, as Shaun Deeb, also 29 took the third bracelet of the day. The high stakes cash player was collecting his first bracelet (and the small matter of nearly $319K.
Paul Volpe & Jason Les, both on their second FT of the series, finished second & third, giving Volpe an early lead in the Player of the Year standings. In fact it is his second runner-up within a week, both in $10k events.
WSOP16 - $1500 NLH Millionaire Maker, 7725 entries, Day 1B of 5
After 3300-odd played 1A, a slightly higher field played 1B (3928) making the total number of players, at 7275, a drop of about 900 on last years. With the introduction of the Colossus making that the favoured event for recreational players just in Vegas to play one WSOP tournament, perhaps that's not too surprising.
Canadian player Alexander Villa took the chip lead late on from Charles Sewell, with
Svjatoslavs Melnikovs (from London, Estonia) in 4th.
Other GB names through to Day 2 from 1B inclue Igor Khrovkov, Alfie Adam, John Haigh, Mark Kirkpatrick, Craig McCorkell, Seb Saffari, Liam Alcock, David Vamplew, Andrew Duffy, Julian Thew (yay!), Andrew Hills, Simon Deadman, Daniel Bland, Zahari Petrov, George White, Max Silver & Patrick Leonard. 618 players from Day 1B have progressed.
WSOP17 - $10K Razz Championship, 103 entrants, Day 1 of 3
Slow and steady play on Day 1, plus the fact that late reg only closed at the last break, have seen more than half the field (63 players) go forward to Day 2.
Abe Mosseri has the overnight lead from Brock Parker, with two of the day's earlier bracelet heads-up players (who had contrasting fortunes) buying in late but boosting their stack well in the time they were playing - Hani Awad lies 3rd and Shaun Deeb 5th.
Two GB players, Adam Owen & Stephen Chidwick lie nicely in midfield but of course being a 10K buyin the field is stacked with pros and there is a long way to go.

A tangible "thank you" by way of a Tourney entry or two has been mentioned by several.
FWIW, Barny does this because a) he enjoys it, & b) as a good Community Member, just as so many others here do "Community Threads". Without them, we'd just have the grumblers, chunterers & moaners, & the Forum would die, or be closed.
I think Barny might even be slightly offended if we insisted on "paying him" in some way, that misses the point.
However, once the WSOP is over, I'll chat with him, & arrange something from The Business on behalf of all of us who have so enjoyed his thread.
I'll also have a word with Mr Ambo, & see if he will play some poker with Barny one night.
He is in fact a cousin, or even brother, of Sam Razavi.
When those two get together, it's fun time. I would imagine Mr Ambo knows him pretty well, too.

142 competititors have moved into Day 3 with Justin Pechie having the biggest stack, just shy of a million chips.
Kelly Minkin, Bart Hanson & Blair Hinkle are not far behind, Wendy Freedman is up there for the ladies, and as for the Brits, we've got to look down to 38th for Andrew Hills
Niall Farrell & John Haigh are still in too, and so is Svjatoslavs Melnikovs, who has a Lativan name and is still shown as London, Estonia.
All the other GB players mentioned yesterday have bitten the dust, including Thewy who ended up in 224th for $6973.

Dreams of another GB bracelet are re-emerging with Event 17 down to 12 players, with one-sixth of them originating from these shores - Adam Owen (1st) and Stephen Chidwick (7th), despite Owen barely featuring in the Updates
Also among those in the final dozen, Phil Hellmuth going for bracelet 14, Erik Sidel, Mike Leah, Brandon Shack-Harris and Shaun Deeb (going for his second bracelet within 3 days)
I'm just imagining how loud a final table rail would be with one (or both) Brits plus Hellmuth on there!

Less than % of the field make Day 2 in the Turbo and again we have some British news to make one smile.
John Gale is 2nd overnight, and Stuart Rutter is in 9th, with Stu coming back to play the 8K/16K level with 23 Big Blinds. Again, neither has featured in the updates very often if at all.
Gregory Kolo is top dog, with Irishman Antony Blee also still involved, and all remaining players have ensured a cash of at least $7124K
WSOP19 - $3000 Limit Hold'em 6 Max, 319 entrants, Day 1 of 3
A bit of an event that falls between stools (in terms of the buyin at least) with the added complications of it being Limit and 6-max too.
Only 319 signed up and as near as you can get to 50% (160) have made Day 2 with Jonathan Thomas bagging most chips.
No Brits left (well it is Limit Poker), but among those still left - Jorryt van Hoof, Chris Tryba, David Benyamine, Carlos Mortensen, Daniel Negreanu, Davidi Kitai, Mark Newhouse (spotted for the first time this year), Antonio Esfandiari plus many many more.

Following an hour later, the Razz with Adam Owen already having locked up his biggest cash ever and was the subject of one of Phil Helmuth's numerous rants yesterday, apparently calling him the worst f****** player ever. All I can say is that puts Mr Owen in some good company remembering the Poker Brat's propsensity to insult anyone who seems to be getting the better of him, however temoparily.
