In Response to Re: The Heads Up FA Cup - Official rules/draw/results thread (1st Round over - 2nd Round Draw completed) : I ain't planning on dying anytime soon, so don't get your hopes up. Posted by hhyftrftdr
Likewise I'm not intending in following in the footsteps of that other eminent mathematician Galois. Besides I'm a bit older than he was and hopefully better at ducking at the required moment given all the practice I've had.
Évariste Galois (French: [evaʁist ɡaˈlwa]; 25 October 1811 – 31 May 1832) was a French mathematician born in Bourg-la-Reine. While still in his teens, he was able to determine a necessary and sufficient condition for a polynomial to be solvable by radicals, thereby solving a problem standing for 350 years. His work laid the foundations for Galois theory and group theory, two major branches of abstract algebra, and the subfield of Galois connections. He died at age 20 from wounds suffered in a duel.
As you were left in the bowl at the end, at the moment I paused (6 left) you would have been able to experience the same levels of interest as I... Perhaps next time
Are you also an eminent mathematician Gelders? As you were left in the bowl at the end, at the moment I paused (6 left) you would have been able to experience the same levels of interest as I... Perhaps next time Good luck all. Posted by bbMike
Why let the facts get in the way of a good story eh Mike?
You even managed to call out my excitement fallacy because as you rightly say I had as much as you plus more. But for an ego as big as mine it's never enough.
Ricorford i am calling you out, im every night this week (ecluding thursday) from 6pm onwards come find me. i believe your at home so have the choice of game type
Score doesn't really tell the story, epic match. I had MAXALLY down to fumes in the first, only for him to fight back and leave me with just 300 chips. Somehow I managed to recover and win the opener and then just prevailed in a cagey, cat and mouse 2nd game.
Played in great spirit. Thanks Alan for a cracking match!

Cheers Graham. GL in the next round. FTR, he gave me a lesson in poker and that is why he is one of the best on here. Respect Sir.
GL all left and thanks to Phantom chap for setting this all up/running it smoothly.
In Response to Re: The Heads Up FA Cup - Official rules/draw/results thread (1st Round over - 2nd Round Draw completed) : N1 Rich! You are clearly the man in form. Seriously, when we've been on the same table, I've noticed massive improvement in your game. Well done mate! Cheers, Graham Posted by StayOrGo
Cheers Graham! Hoping I can take the form forward on to tonight's various MTTs!
Great game with Mumsie. Very close. I think Mumsie has done him or herself down. I am sure the result was TSARINA 2 MUMSIE 1 It all came down to the wire. Well played Mumsie Posted by tsarina
It seems that there are a lot of away wins in Round 2.
Home advantage seemed to count for something in Round 1 (16:11) but it seems to be the away teams have it so far in Round 2. Think carefully about the choice home players. What suits you best? What suits your opponent least?
Only gerardirl, tsarina and RicOrford have made home advantage count (3:8) so far.

So that means Rich Orford has officially won the presenter/analyst last longer competition then.

OP Results table has been updated.
Well done to everyone who has already played and congratulations to the trailblazers already in Round 3.
In case you miss it in the OP I have also set a deadline of Sunday 8th November for completion of this round.
That happens to be the weekend of the "first round proper" of the real FA Cup.
