Obv though- if I can get over the line much sooner than expected, I'll revise the target upwards. Maybe aim for £5000 poker profit in one calendar year?

Ty Rafa and welcome to the forum.

I'd love to play in the UKPC, but I've had no joy in 3 semi-final satellites so far.

Will probably give it at least a couple more goes before calling it quits.

I was at the match last night and think you should send a video of you scoring that penalty against Ray Parlour and he might play you instead of Rondon!

Think you should try and get Barry Fry on one of the Tuesday night shows, he would be great entertainment.

Mate, I'd play Tikay over Rondon right now.

Don't get me started on the Baggies. We're an absolute shambles and I want the manager and chairman out.

As for Barry Fry- I'm sure he'd be funny, but would he understand poker and/or be able to work the software on the ipad? I'm gonna guess at 'no'...!

I hadn't realised until we played you that the manager was unpopular with the fans. Not too late to get dragged into a relegation battle if they play like that every week.

Update- 25th Feb.

Have played quite a lot over the week- the usual main MTTs when I could but mainly I'd been gunning to satellite into the UKPC.

I came close in a couple of semi-finals including being the pure bubble in one, which was tough. But then, on the very last throw of the dice on the Sunday just gone I entered the last semi and crushed it, easily taking a seat in the big final that night.

The timing of it meant that I was thrown straight into the acton as a late reg the moment I'd finished the semi, so there was no time to reset, take stock etc, I was playing a £240 seat to win a £1100 one. A huge deal for me.

Alas it was Simon Hemsworth who was my judge, jury and executioner. Early doors I made a massive lay-down of pocket aces to him on a fairly coordinated board after he set me all-in. I strongly think I was behind, but the betting leading up to that point meant I'd taken a massive chip hit.

But I fought my way back into contention and with 15 seats available I'd made my way down to the last 30 or so. 

I then got into another big pot with Simon and this time turned the nut straight. He set me all-in, I snap-called, only to see him on exactly the same pocket holding of A-6. So we were goiing to chop the pot.

Except for one thing. Simon's cards were both suited, and the turn had brought a backdoor flush draw into play. Which of course, he completed on the river once all the money had gone in.

It all went off in the blink of an eye and for a moment I couldn't understand what had happened as I was sure we wre chopping. Of course, the action always moves on brutally without any sombre reflection for casualties, so I just sat there whilst play continued for a while quietly brooding as to how close I'd come to winning a seat in Nottingham.

In fact I've been gutted about it for days as that last-minute semi victory had me believing I was destined to play in the UKPC, but of course fate had other plans.

There is an upside to this story mind you, because last night I picked myself up, dusted myself down and played a few of the evening's main MTTs...

I made the final table of the Mini event and came 2nd in the 9pm £2,500 Bounty Hunter!

I posted a profit on the night of £331. So, no complaints there.

Funny that I should come second yet again this month, as I'd only just recorded a series of videos for YouTube in the studio looking at why I might have finished 2nd in 3 MTTs in Feb (not-so-subtle brag, I know, I know) and where I could improve my heads-up play.

So, having taken all that advice on board, I promptly went out and finished second in my next heads-up again! Good to know I was listening. ;-) Tbf the guy did have 6-1 chip lead when it began though.
