So sad that Steve Ball ICE_TIGER will not be able to take his place in this years competition. He was a big supporter of the first event, already ill and undergoing treatment that left him sick and tired, he made time to get his matches in and won through to the fiinal and eventually finished runner up. I am first reserve but I do not wish to take a place in the competition in this way. If there are any friends of Steve not currently in who would like to represent "Team Ball" then please let me know. Steve's son Max (ballboy) is already in the competition and of course I will give him time if he needs it to complete his fixture. RIP Steve. Posted by Phantom66
RESULTS ROUNDUP EssexPhil won the North London derby and gets the rare thrill of finishing ahead of a Gooner. Who are they kidding? North London Derby? Should have been Colchester v MK Dons doesn't anybody support their local team? Pair of glory hunters. #rantover Mr Essex now plays mumsie in Round1 who has been very keen to get started. I live near Colchester, but it is not where I was brought up. My family have always supported Spurs, though my mum used to work for Arsenal. I can't speak for MKGunner, but why should anyone expect him to follow a bunch of mercenaries who moved from South London for purely commercial reasons )
Mumsie-can play most times, though 3-6 pm is ideal. Please post when it suits you.
Can I suggest an idea.If Max's mum or sister don't play poker( stepping in for Steve ) then let max play under his dad's name .The chances of meeting each other in the final are remote.Id also like to give up my seat to phantom as he's doing all the work. Cheers.

Hi Phil of Essex.
I'm a work finisher 4.45 so between 5 and 6 is fine by me . Ide prefer the slower of the turbo speeds as I'm a novice at heads up.
1. I do not want anyone to fall on their sword for me, I am sure I will get in. I blame Will Kassouf for putting me off when doing the draw. At the moment we have 2 at risk in the preliminary round who haven't posted here yet. Last year there were 4 or 5 withdrawals in total.
2. I would have no objection to Max taking his Dad's place, and keeping his own, if he wishes to do that.
There is no rush on any decision. Max can take as much time as he needs. I'll keep both places open.

Hi Mr Phantom - it doesn't look like Markycash will be around to play the HU match. Does that mean I'll be ko'd by your good self instead?

Hi Rose,
Frustrating I know, but I haven't got to the point of issuing a deadline for round 1 yet, so it is still possible he will return to the fold in time.
GCDF and chiggypig are the ones I am most likely to replace at the moment as they have both been silent and only have until Sunday.

This leaves GCDF and chiggypig as the only non-posters who are in the preliminary round. They happen to be playing each other too.

Heads Up Speed Table at 5pm today (Monday). I'll be there.
I'll wear a pink carnation so you recognize me.
^^^^
I am currently seated at a £1.05 HU Speed Table.
...which someone else has now joined.
Marv.

...which I lost.
It's now 5.15pm & I'm a quid in the hole already, as I sort of dumped off my chips when the fella joined.
We'll have to do it another day I'm afraid.
Can't be tomorrow (Tuesday) as I am working. How about 5pm Wednesday?
Well played and good luck in the next round
And the flip Gods.
And....
for comparing my running styles to M. Bates .
And the Ego boost.
