Also, we're recording episode 2 tomorrow. We'll be discussing the Viva Las Vegas final and hopefully chatting to the winners Penguin and Jazzy. Ross Jarvis, winner of SPT Luton AND Senior Staff Writer for Poker Player magazine will be our special guest and of course Rich + Tikay (actually me + hand picker Harry) will be picking the hottest topics for the week...
Forgot to mention that footage from Leg 3 of SPT from Luton is finally cut - we'll be showing clips over the coming weeks and kicking things off on our next show is the mad one John McCrirrick...

Well I WAS looking forward to the next show until now
How about a stuffed shark for a mascot to scare the fish? I know why not... Tikay doesn't like scaring the fish... but Rich wouldn't see the connection would he?
In Response to Re: The Official Club Thread : I don't recall saying that Penguin would or would not still be present. But a Penguin Statement is expected early next week. The Presenters will, as I stated earlier, be rostered in accordance with their regular shift pattern. Dan, of course, has moved onwards & upwards, & is now with, I believe, GMTV, or Kerrang, I forget which. Posted by Tikay10
Sorry, i missed the pilot show but have a few questions now the show is finally back. I noted that Dan and others have moved on but as Matt Broughton is still in the team and after doing a great job on TP, I was surprised to see he wasnt on The Club. As the analysts and presenters are rotated, will we be seeing him too on our screens?
Also, why is he never on PTP anymore, but his pic is always showing? Don't get me wrong, i like seeing his pic but would also be nice to see him taking part sometime .
Matt brings a different type of humour and gives some great hand analysis. He certainly gives "poker a smile" I think he was missed by a lot of the community when the Club came to its abrupt halt last summer, but we all expected him to turn up in a new show.
Good luck with the new club and i have to say Tikay, you looked very dashing in your suit on the final TP show. Much nicer than the blazers i think. xx
I have to agree with DOHHHHHHH on this one. Not trying to make anyone feel bad about a tournament above anyhing I'll ever probably play in but two things struck me as odd. First the K10 shove on the bubble, secondly even calling with trip Qs is surely questionable with 2 relative short stacks when the opponent could have Trip Ks or J10 for the straight?
On a lighter note, the show is just great, bar your acting at the start, lol.
Great chat. Good representation of what happens on the forum for those viewers who just view and don't participate. Nice interview with the SPT Luton winner, even funnier to see him answering Tikay's 'specialist' question. (new weekly feature - Tikay's be-mu-sing question of the week?) (not related to any Harry Hill feature at all)
Quote of the week has to be from John McCruirick, regarding bad players (flashes up pic of Richard)... something along the lines of, "You have AK and the flop has a King, but then a couple of Aces come up, but all they can think of is their own hand..." Errr, John, they have Aces full of Kings - I don't think he thought that example through!
All in all a great show, I do find the poker gets in the way of the humour somewhat, but you can't have everything!
Got to say something here Tikay - if you are trying help/educate players in the future - and even the the guy himself, how can you say there is no way off the KT on the bubble in that final???
Did you see the stack sizes? surely its wrong to say there was no way off it?
Just a reminder that episode 2 airs tonight at 8pm - Rich and Tikay round up the first Viva Las Vegas, looking at the last few hands and chatting to the winners Penguin 7 and Jazzy J. The footage from SPT Luton is in, although it pains me to say that tonight's feature is John McCrirrick (have got Mickay Hazard and Kitty Lea lined up for next week) Ross Jarvis, winner of SPT Luton AND senior writer for Poker Player Magazine is the guest and of course we'll look at the hot topics and blogs from the past week on the forum.
It's a jammed packed hour - make sure you catch it!
In a little over an hour ep 3 will air - another top show, Rich + Tikay discuss the Porkerman free money debate as well as the other hot topics from last week on the forum. We've got 2 guests - Jared Tendler and Dusty Schmidt, 2 former golf pro's turned poker pro's who were in the country from the states last week and last but not least, more footage from Luton SPT (including an interview with Mickey Hazard - it was supposed to coincide with Spurs making the FA Cup final, but then considering the week they had i think I dodged a bullet there, er I mean great timing on my behalf

Hi Chris, We had a bit of of a get together with Tony at DTD this weekend and tony had tried to set up a session with Simon Trumper on Omaha, but he was away and could not do it.
I thought it would make a very good episode on The Club, with Simon reveling stratagies and answering questions sent in by us all. What do you think mate?

Chris, will a series link be available for the club? It's not at the moment cos I just tried it but I know you do some shows with series link.
From next week, and for six weeks, Sky_Ling will be taking over as Series Producer of The Club - with her trusty sidekick............. me!!
We have some fantastic shows lined up for you over the coming weeks, but I won't spoil the surprise by telling you everything now. But, what I can tell you is that WE NEED YOU.........we need your imput, because this show is all about you, and what you want to see. So keep up the good work on the forum, and keep those posts coming in.
We are planning to have some regular weekly segments, such as Play My Hand and Hot Topics - but we will also be adding a bit of variety to each of the shows, with a little touch of comedy to boot.
You have Sky_Chris and hand-picker Harry's episode on Monday at 8pm to look forward to and then we'll be with you from Monday May 10th - so be sure to tune in!
So....what do we want from you now??? Well, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to send us your best poker face.......that's right, get your camera out, get your game face on, and get your pics coming in. Send your entries (good quality pics if possible please) to skyopen@bskyb.com.
Also....what are you doing this weekend? No, we're not inviting you out, but we do want to know if you are playing any live games over the coming weekend? If so, add a thread here letting us know when, where and what you are playing and how you got on - and if you have any photos then why not send them in too.
So, now it's down to you - get your emails, posts, questions, suggestions and your photo's coming in...........we'll be waiting.
Not sure if this is correct or not but I thought I'd have a go at some maths! The trouble with the Royal Flush on board calculation is there are so many possible starting conditions, here's a few...
Type
Complicated Stuff
Odds to 1
Royal Type
1/((5/52) * (4/51) * (3/50) * (2/49) * (1/48))
2598960
Number of 5 card hands possible dealing from 52 card deck
1
1/((20/52) * (4/51) * (3/50) * (2/49) * (1/48))
649740
Odds of Royal all cards possible dealing from 52 card deck
2
1/((20/51) * (4/50) * (3/49) * (2/47) * (1/45))
550560.9375
Odds of Royal all cards possible dealing from 52 card deck including burned cards (excluding possibility burned card was a Royal card)
3
1/((20/40)*(4/39)*(3/38)*(2/37)*(1/36))
164502
Odds of a Royal at a 6 seater no 10,J,Q,K,A held by a player
4
1/((20/39)*(4/38)*(3/37)*(2/35)*(1/33))
131944.3125
Odds of a Royal at a 6 seater no 10,J,Q,K,A held by a player including burned cards (excluding possibility burned card was a Royal card)
5
1/((5/40)*(4/39)*(3/38)*(2/37)*(1/36))
658008
Odds of a Royal at a 6 seater no 10,J,Q,K,A of a particular suit held by a player
6
1/((5/39)*(4/38)*(3/37)*(2/35)*(1/33))
527777.25
Odds of a Royal at a 6 seater no 10,J,Q,K,A of a particular suit held by a player including burned cards (excluding possibility burned card was a Royal card)
Explanation of my reasoning of Royal 1:
I'm using the whole 52 card pack, no players and no burning of cards in the deal
First card must be one of 10,J,Q,K,A but of any suit so 20 possible cards so odds of getting it are 20/52
First card determines suit so
Second card must be one of the 4 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 4/51
Third card must be one of the 3 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 3/50
Fourth card must be one of the 2 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 2/49
Fifth card must be the remaining card to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 1/48
Explanation of my reasoning of Royal 6:
I'm using the whole 52 card pack, 6 players with 2 cards each and burning a card before the flop, turn and river
First card must be one of 10,J,Q,K,A but of a particular suit so 5 possible cards, already 12 cards held by players and 1 card burned before the flopso odds of getting it are 5/39
Second card must be one of the 4 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 4/38
Third card must be one of the 3 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 3/37
Fourth card must be one of the 2 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card, remembering the burned card also 2/35
Fifth card must be the remaining card to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card , remembering the burned card 1/33
We are lacking in entries for our earlier set task - poker face. We asked for you to send a pic of your "best" poker face in, and as yet, we are without.......... so come one guys and girls, get clicking. Don't make me ask you again !!!!!!

First card must be one of 10,J,Q,K,A but of a particular suit so 5 possible cards, already 12 cards held by players and 1 card burned before the flop so odds of getting it are 5/39

@Machka,
Gidzo would have called the odds of this off the top of his head in 2 secs, lol.
:-)
as I have sent ny picture in it will only be a matter of time before you want me to star in my own poker tips series!
Thanks.
Keep your poker faces coming in peeps.
