    Dear Mr Irishrover

Here are two questions for you......

    1) When playing a late night SnG, is it best to sit to the left or right of you? and

    2) When are you putting that F************* shelf up??

    Regards,

well i regularly change my betting habits so at the moment

on left or right is not good for an  aggressive player .

because i am in the trapy trapy habit mood at present .

    now the shelf

Ty SAM for the question ,

If i had just  £20 to start with i would defo play £2 deepstacks.

The following info is the key to the safe with the lolly in it lol !

    1. you will get more game time in a deepstack and thus learn a lot

    more about the game .

    2. you will have ten chances of running good and cashing .

    3. This is a great way to learn the poker trade and will create a good base

for you when you are ready or want  to move forward .

4, It can be a great game to have a laugh and get to know your depositors lol !

    5. I feel  that the person themselves, not luck .not cards , not bankroll,

    just themselves can be,

what is stopping them from making money on here .

& enjoying their poker on here .

    Hey all,

Very funny thread this, but I'm going to play Community Daddy and ask that we keep it on the Strategy lines, otherwise you'll all have to boo me when I move it to The Shed.

Irish - great idea for a thread, too. I'll chuck you a question while I am here which I reckon will help a lot of the newer players.

At lower levels, the assumption is that people will call off their whole stacks with far weaker hands. With that in mind do you play tighter and wait to make a premium hand or do you tend to play more of those hands like small pairs and suited connectors in a bid to flop a decent hand and then get the money in?

Cheers all and have (strategy-orientated) fun!

Hi rover my cyber pal, right here is MY problem.I am running pretty good at the mo and recently have final tabled in about 50% of my tournys and cashed well. But my prob is winning these games.I just seem to get real unlucky.I got 8th in £3 doublestack on 9th of this month and on sunday 1 got 4th in the £1200 gtd b/h.I keep gettin my chips in ahead but keep gettin outdrawn.A typical example of this is in the last mentioned tourny i was level stacked with oppo and i shoved on the button for 35k with 88 and the bb called with 77 and hit a 7 on the RIVER aaaggghhhhhh. Please advice me how i can turn the corner and get em.lol dav

    Hiya guys :)
I've finally made it over here so basically I play £5 DYM's and doing good (tooting my own horn!) but I've decided to give cash a go....I have had a go at nl10 (or do I say nl10p - sorry I'm clueless to all this poker jargon! hehe)
I've been doing ok last 2 days....lost a stack this morning cos I was being too aggressive (if there is such a thing lol) and got called a muppet (cry)
I'm gonna play cash only for the rest of this month to see how I get on so wish me luck and be prepared for questions!
    :o)

Ty Dave & no probs with keeping it on strategy lines.

so note riff raff [ maxally , blackfish ] its the shed for you two if

you wont stop  annoying the special one [ IRISHROVER ] and maxs  you dont

really want to end up in a shed with mr buuuuuckfish .

Now dave in answer to your question new players in mtts.

Its best to play a.b c  poker .

    Just play premium hands .

If the flop hits you big,

take the pot down and bet pot size .

I find that a lot of low stake players tend not to believe,

one has got a hand if you bet pot size bets .

    Dear Mr Rover,

I too am playing the lo level MTTs at the moment and am trying to build a bigger bankroll to play bigger ones. I was going to ask if it was possible to build a bankroll playing MTTs (DYMs are often recomended) but I found your advice to MintSam above very helpful on that subject and have decided of course it is possible.

So my question is this, are the £2.30 BHs a good investment in your opinion or not?

I seem to do ok in these due to high numbers of crazy players etc. I would much rather play just deepstacks, or at least tournies with no bounties (ie 100% prizepool). The problem is that I tend not to be free on the evenings (I usually get in for the 9.15 £2.20 deep stack) so I miss the £3 orfordables etc which look really good. I find myself playing the BHs due to the much higher numbers of players they get and their much more ready availability.

Ty cyber bud dave for the question.

    wow 50%  that's excellent .

first and most importantly you keep getting your self in good positon in mtts .

Just  note before you push all in preflop ,

is it necessary to do this with a big stack against another big stack ?

     I think not !

most importantly of all note down what you are doing right which

seems a lot if you are cashing 50% IN MTTS .

"Is it neccesary to attack a big stack with a big stack? - I think not"

If only I'd had this quote on a sticky thing, on my laptop, throughout last nights doublestack, I could be £1,000 richer today!!

GO GO GO ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ....Ooooooops!
