In Response to Re: WSOP, Viva Las Vegas Live Update, Day 2A - Guy & Tony return to action. : Err, well done Rich. PS - Kill me now. I say, KILL ME NOW. PPS - Well done Bud. Was that the TOT Rebuy? GREAT result Sir. How much you get? Posted by Tikay10
In Response to Re: WSOP, Viva Las Vegas Live Update, Day 2A - Guy & Tony return to action. : Erm, I'm not, actually. Mrs S did not exactly endear herself to anyone at last year's WSOP-E, with her classless hooting & hollering & inane clapping every time her hubbie won a pot. To be honest, I don't much like Barry, either, but I feel incredibly sorry for him. Anyway, the "in-cardroom" film shoot got postponed due to a break between Levels, so I got my coffee after all. Now I'm all hyper, a latte gives me 2 hours extra energy, zip & zing. So, on my way back from Starbucks, I heard a funny story. Coming right up........ Posted by Tikay10
+1
A few of us went up last year to watch the final table, and to be fair i'm guessing Daniel is always going to be a crowd favourite against almost anyone HU, except a British player of course, but she far from helped the 'atmosphere' if you like. However like you say, I did feel for Barry, he acted (from what I saw) with great etiquette at the table, despite several drunken insults coming from the crowd as we went into the early hours.
Still a HUGE shame that Ace arrived on the river though, the noise when Negreanu hit that Jack on the turn was amazing

What a hand that was!
The Flop was J high, DAnny had something like J-Q, & Barry had played his pocket Aces cutely.
The chips were flying around on the flop, Barry sets Danny in, Danny thinks he's probably winning, so asks the crowd - "well, shall I call - you guys wanna go home?". And calls.
Barry flips over his Aces, & the crowd, very much on Danny's side, all groan.
The Turn? - another Jack!
Cue HUGE cheers & clapping, "go Danny", & the WSOP-E Bracelet is Danny's.
Incredibly, Barry binks his Ace on the River, to almost total silence. Except Mrs S, who's giving it large.......VERY large.
Someone said to her "GIQ". She says "what that then?".
She looks well for her age, though. Speaks highly of me, too.
In Response to Re: WSOP, Viva Las Vegas Live Update, Day 2A - Guy & Tony return to action. : Ugh. MAXALLY can always be relied upon to give a quality rub. Alan - you coming to Swansea? I sooooooo wanna abuse you. Posted by Tikay10
I don't know if Alan is about right now but i can tell you Tikay that he has qualified for SPT Swansea!!....
It's all uphill for Guy, who has a nightmare of a Table, & Devilfish is bossing the Table a treat.
Guy has about 22,000. Blinds go 400/800/100 after the Break (due in 3 minutes), so it's still not shove time. But unless he finds some hands, or action, shove-time will arrive later this evening, I fancy. And shoving is usually somewhere near a 50/50 shot, so once he doubles up, all will be well in Guy-World.
Tony, meanwhile, seems to be moving more & more into his comfort-zone, & seems to be cruising on 62,000.
Bear in mind that the close-of-play average at end of Day 2 will be in the region of 60,000, & you get some idea how nicely Tony is placed.
We just need to find a 2xup for Guy tonight, though.
Instead of the usual 20 minutes, this one is scheduled for "a minimum of 30 minutes", & may extend from that slightly, too. They have decided to "colour-up" during this break, which may take a while.
When they return, they will play ONE HOUR (half a Level) & then break for Din-dins.
Now, you may ask yourself this. Why colour up during this break, scheduled for 20 or 30 minutes, when they could colour up during the 90 minute dinner-break? And don't ask me, because I don't know, & it makes NO sense to me at all. But I'm sure there's a perfectly loogical & reasonable explanation. There usually is. Usually sometimes.
PS - "Colour-Up"? It's when they remove the low-denom chips which have no further use, in this case, the "25" chips have finished their shelf-life, as from here on in, all Blinds & Antes are in multiples of 100. Leaving the 25s in play, therefore, just slows play down, particularly when muppets insist on using all 25's to post a 600 Blind!

Of course I'm coming to Swansea but you will be far too busy with the abuse you will no doubt be giving Dylan & Plop to dish out anymore
I was just watching the BBC news and Sky news to see who had the best coverage of the 'conclusion' to the BIG story this week in the UK......I am sure you may be aware of it. Hence my delay in answering, sorry.

The Mr Moat story? Cliff-notes, please!
Vegas is bizarre, it seems to operate in a seperate world. Until someone asked me today, I had heard nothing of the Moat tale.
There are NO clocks in the Casinos here, we don't see daylight from one day to the next, so the days & nights just merge together, seamlessly. I don't buy newpapers out here, or catch any news Bulletins, so no, I knew nothing of it.
I actually just heard from a septic that President Obama is in Las Vegas today - visiting, would you believe - Caesars Palace! Maybe he's gonna play the nightly $165 7pm jobbie. I'm jealous, sigh.

I hope there is no repeat of the fight over the $100 chip with you hiding under the table?

The long and short of it is.....(please note, this is only my take on it and may not be used in a court of law....you have to cover your self nowadays!)
Bloke gets released from prison......decides to look up an ex. He doesn't like men in uniform for some reason so when she says her new man is a policeman, he flips out and shoots him dead. After also putting 'the love of his life' in hospital, goes on the run. After 7 days of @1000 highly trained people scouring one county, they find him. After 7 hours of cooeey wooeey stuff, it appears that he shot and injured himself when the police moved in to conclude the stand off. He has been rushed into hospital.....NHS staff are so underpaid IMHO. *edit - now believed to be DOA at the hospital
The 'film/DVD' will no doubt be out at Christmas .
^^^^^ this about covers it but you may want to watch a news channel for more factual content ^^^^
Someone just told me that Gazza was somehow involved in the Moat thing. Surely not? Posted by Tikay10
Sadly yes Tikay!. From what i heard Gazza rung a local radio station up in the North East sounding like he had a few too many sherbets claiming to be a friend of Mr Moat!.
Throat is killing me at the moment, i have lost my voice but Lancashire beat Yorkshire in the Cricket this evening and these updates from Vegas are certainly keeping me informed so in all in all i'm still happy (just about lol!).
Someone just told me that Gazza was somehow involved in the Moat thing. Surely not? Posted by Tikay10
It was unreal stuff Tikay. It has been reported that Gazza showed up with some food and lager for Moat while he was trapped by armed officers on a riverbank. It is yet to be confirmed if Moat asked for him or Gazza decided to rock up off his own bat. Either way he then gave an interview to Real Radio where he heavily slurred his words and said he knew Moat from his Newcastle days when Moat worked in the bar and that his was a good bloke. One of the most depressing things I've ever heard, Gazza sounded very drunk and just babbled.
After six or seven hours holding his shotgun to his own head while being monitored by several armed police Sky News are reporting that Moat shot himself at about 2:10am and is now dead.
Guy is getting no cards, but he has no need to panic yet. His Table is quite loose & wild, so although he has a mega-tight image, if he finds a hand, he may well find a spot where someone has raised first,& get themselves pot-stuck. A little bit of luck, or a hand or two, & he's right back in the mix.

I'm "off" on Sunday, so plan to play a little poker then. Can't wait, to be honest, I'm gagging for it. Everyone here is playing poker, & I'm watching it, writing about it, talking about it, eveything but playing it, & it teases a treat!
I was off last Sunday, too, but the morning turned into a disaster, with that bit of Forum trub. The evening went OK though. Life is always peaceful when I play poker, it's just the rest of the time that's a problem.
Tony dropped from 79k to 61k in that Session, & he thinks he had a bad session. He did not. First up, he found K-K, but the flop came A high. He was forced to C-Bet, got his answer, & let go. Then he found the red bullets, but the board gave 4 clubs, & he got severe-resistance, so, again, he let go. This is key. Losing the minimum in these coups is essential. He can go broke in either of those 2 coups, but he did not. Well played him. All is well in Penguin-Land. The 90 minute dinner-break has 70 minutes remaining. Posted by Tikay10
Sounds like a player 100% on top of his game.
And he was ripping SkyPoker up before he left.
And confidence speaks volumes in Poker.
The cards will come.
I'm seriously fancying this man for a cash at minimum.
