sky sent me a bouquet of flowers this morning ,with a very sympathetic ,and apologetic card ,plus my buyin of £5.50,was presented back too me , by none other than ,Duncan goodhew in person ....sky's customer care is second too none .they always go the extra mile ...................in all honesty tho ,i gave them a ring this morning ,and was refunded within one minute ,no problems at all .....
I think last night was due to 4000 playing on the site - in the past 2000 seemed to be the magic number.
At least that's progress and we all benefit from the positive side that the numbers seem to be rising on the site - all the Open's and mtt's around it are getting good size fields now.
I managed to get back quite quickly by abandoning the Download and going back to ye olde browser version - others I spoke to did the same. Top tip?
To calm nerves and stop the irritation of calling CC I think one of "the suits" should be working during the peak hours on the site (8pm to midnight?) and post on the Forum when there is a problem i.e. declare when they have made the decision that refunds will be paid and to call back in the morning. How many times have you sat on the site for an hour waiting for CC not knowing if you will be refunded if you go to bed?
Apologies to Penguin7 for stealing chips for a while (I heard the legendary tale of Phil12UK folding in the £220 (whilst HU) in this situation but it was too early in tourney to do that).
it was my 1st time playing sky poker yesterday and as much as i enjoyed it it was annoying the site crashing while playing 2 games it took me best part of 20mins to reload by that time i was really short stacked in the £2.30 deep stack with big blinds which left me with very little chance of progress.....
Just like to thank CC for a quick response last night sent E mail 10 mins later got E mail back saying aware of problem . This morning buying for 8.30bh returned well done sky

I am NOT authorised to offer any explanation or issue any statement as to what happened last night, but I would like to say many thanks to most people for being particularly understanding. I think our Community were seen at their best last night. The outage was about 6 minutes, I believe, but sometimes the after-effects take a while to work through.
I have sent this thread to the Suits, & asked them to particularly note the Posts by Supernova & Doudeau, both of which I felt were particularly fair & reasonable. In fact, I discussed Supernova's Post with "The Guv'nor" this morning, & expressed my views.
As to Doudeau, he makes a very valid point, too, as to having a "spokesman" available. I'm not authorised to be that person, but I'm usually on the Site, as I was last night, so I do try to handle some of the stuff.
The suits will shake the tree as to what happened last night & get to the bottom of it, though I very much hope that one poster's request for "heads to roll" was not a serious suggestion. I might be next in the head-rolling queue, see?
I know NOTHING about IT infrastructure, like most players, but the outage, which was some 6 minutes, affected both Flash Client AND the Download identically, so it does not take an Einstein to work out that it was not related to the Download, it was "upstream".
All this is "after-the-event" stuff & nonsense, of course - the outage should not have happened, end of. For my part, as a Member of the Team, I very much regret it. And it's no consolation to those who had probs last night, but all of us here at Sky Poker felt equally frustrated, because we are working very hard to build something special here. Luckily, our Clients are special too.

6 min's outage?Took me 30 min's mad clicking try again to get back on line.
It was'nt 6 minutes from my end Tikay, it was on and off all night, I could'nt launch any cash tables at 3 o'clock in the morning, and yes, I really don't think it's much to ask, for a company spokesman to come on the forum on these occasions, especially when the queue for customer services is massive. Sky Des did come on and explain a few times before, and it was reassuring to know that the fault was acknowledged and that steps were being taken to rectify it. Instead, all we got was stupid questions from customer care about our flash player version and browser, and implications that it was a fault on our computer that was the problem.
sorry 6 mins for me was 30 mins and 80% off stack gone by time had 6 blinds left so gave up and went all in, now i`m told because i played that one hand i`m not allowed my buy-in back, sorry but i`m not having that, it nothing to me with the fault off sky poker
In Response to Re: Site Problems Friday 2030 - Please do not flood forum: [QUOTE]To me asking for my money back is begging, I'll never do it - It's obviously an innocent error, nobody means it to happen, but it happens soooooooo often, that obviously someone isn't doing their job properly. Is that not a fair conclusion? I was 3 handed in a 5 pound sit and go, with 1 short stack, an average stack, and I was chip leader with the average stack around 40 big blinds. When I returned, I was the small stack, and the blinds were at shove/fold, I had 11 bigs. We're talking £25, which is so d all...... But that realllllllllllllllly isn'y the point.......... I aint gonna go asking for my 5r back obv, what I would like to ask though, is that they stop it happening!!!! -And if the current staff can't make that happen - employ some that can. It's ridic. i e-mailed Sky last nite and received what i considered to be a sarcastic and somewhat rude reply.
they did say they would look into it when they have time, i don't hold out much hope.
i managed to get back into one of my dyms, and was all in in the BB for ~400 wiv blinds at 200/400, before i got disconnected blinds were 75/150 and i believe my stack was ~2400. if i do ever receive a reply from them, and they claim that this cant be refunded, because i 'played' my final hand, they're gonna receive one hell of an e-mail back.
i'll give it to the end of the weekend to see if i get a satisfactory response
mine took about 20min to come on i was in the stamp game didnt lose much
i would like to say that evey time theres been a prob on site and only some can play i always had big hands that i missed out on.....last night when i got back on i checked the hh and it was poor cards so thanks for that sky lol
to me the cc seems to have improved alot.....ive had alot of trouble with the download and had to call in alot with it and they have helped alot.....but on the other side the tech team i cant say have been helpfull at all
i think its a good idea to have some1 there to sort these out but would not like it to be tk as i think it would take him away from alot of stuff he already does
