In the week after the event before, which is Glasgow on 8th May. Therefore roughly 10th May onwards

bit of an odd one but don't know whether should book an extra night in hotel or not...

With people travelling from all round the country and it being middle of winter and our countries lack of ability to deal with a little bit off winter weather (even though we have winter every year!!)

i'm wondering if theres a chance Newcastle may be snowed off because of "extreme chaos" with transport links equaling a low turn out on the day?.. or is it a tough luck you should have started walking new years day policy?

Hi, last month I won a seat for the newcastle leg of the sky poker tour. I was wondering if i am able to sell my seat as after looking at costs it may not be worth my while attending due to paying £100 for travel and hotels  ,If i do attend do aspers put on cash games , other tourneys or stts as i dont want to get knocked out of the tourney at 5pm and then be at a loose end for the evening. If so which is the best way to sell the seat.

    Hi Jinky,
You are more than welcome to attend any of the SPT events if you havent qualified for the main event as there are sit n gos and, if the particular casino has running, other events that are  open to everyone.

Yes it is too late now, but it doesnt stop you attending the event and playing any of sit n gos on the day when players are knocked out.
Sometimes these are more fun then the main event.

hi guys , im slightly new to the set up here on sky with regard to these spt events.

i know its too late to qualify , but can anyone explain about the sit n go tourneys that are on?

just im 20 miles from newcastle and wouldnt mind coming along and putting some faces to the screen names over a drink or 2, and if there are side game/ sit n go's available all the better

    cheers

     Hi all

first post here. I've qualified over month ago for newcastle leg next week to make the trip over from sunny (cough) Belfast, however the schedule from work has come out over the holidays and I'm due in Friday AND Saturday night (work night shifts boo hoo) and at present wif skeleton staff only over next few weeks it's looking ever more likely that unfortunately I'm unable to get any cover and  I will be unable to attend : (    not impressed but such is life I guess!

So was wondering if anyone unlucky enough to qualify and easy access etc to the venue would (rules etc. permitting) be able to take my place, better than it going to waste eh?!

Unfortunately thats exactly what will happen, your stack will be blinded out however Jaegerbomb has told sky officially he can't make it and asked them to make his seat available, I don't know if Sky will but at least he has given them plenty of notice, if you definately cannot make it then officially inform Sky and they may make the seat available.

Like with SPT Manchester if memory serves me right and correct me if i'm wrong, wasn't there a "last chance" live satellite for the final few seats for Leg 1 at G Manchester now obviously with General Jaeger unable to come to Newcastle, there might be one of those "last chance" satellites tourney for a seat at Aspers up for grabs?

It would be helpful for Rich or even Des to provide some clarification on this!

I would think in a couple of weeks

At present the tournament is full and no last chance satellites are planned. If this changes during the week I will post on here as soon as I know

What is going to happen on Saturday if a lot of people can't make the tournament because of the weather?
  • edited January 2010
FYI I've just been through Newcastle train station and there were a lot of delayed trains but only one cancellation that I could see (from Inverness). Folks might have to spend an extra hour on the train but hopefully will all be able to get there.
