In Response to Re: FAO TKP,THS AND TPT,AND ANY OTHER TEAMS I HAVE FORGOTTEN. : Sky Poker ran 2 team freeroll competitions last year, did you enter those? Were you in a team? Sky Poker started the ball rolling with the creation of TEAM SKY POKER Ask anybody at an SPT event if they think TKP (orange uniform) and TSP (blue hoodies) are bad for the event? If you watch the top tips feature on channel 865, many top pros advocate the discussion of hands with others and the help of friends to establish your game. As for having sad lives with "online" friends - lol TKP all know each other in person, many of whom were friends before Sky Poker! Posted by SolarCarro
TSP are a bit like a real team because they are picked on ability and achievements plus they get the sponsorship and free entries etc what do the others get, what makes you a team.
As for the tip about discussing poker and hands with others is that not what the forum is for,we dont have to be in a team to post on the forum do we??? have i reasd the t and cs wrong???
While i am sure the orange brigade are not bad for the event can you really say they are good for it...personally i would be woriied if i sat down at a tourney with 3 people on the same 'team' at my table....sure they would rather knock me out then their 'friends'. I think this conflict of interests is a bad thing for the integrity of the game
As for the orange shirts themselves they give me a slight headache but not too bad, i had a phase as a teenager of wearing orange shirts, but grew out of it quite quickly...
There's probably more Kudos with TKP for an "orange on orange" victory, that knocking out anyone else, and from what I see other teams are the same. If there was any hint of collusion, Sky would nip it in the bud, for sure! Their reputation counts for more than any team (perhaps).
For me, I was honoured to be asked to join TKP (before any other teams were around). It has given extra enjoyment (railing the final table isn't a million miles off playing it - the nerves and excitement etc).
Maybe I'm a sad individual who can't relate to people socially, so have to do it in an online team.
When you meet me at a live event, you can form a view. For myself, I'm off to facebook. . .
Jesus ur a troll, as long as teams dont collude what is the problem here? you feeling left out, just join a team if not just let us get on with it Posted by YOUNG_GUN

What is it about this site that when u have a different opinion to others you get called names!!!!

As captain of TKP i've deliberately kept out of this discussion as I'm likely to be considered 'biased' and therefore my views will undoubtedly be discounted by your good self JD.
With regard to your comment (highlighted above) I can safely say quite the opposite is true! Unlike larger poker sites SPT's tend to be the biggest buy in event for lots of our qualifiers and in many cases they will be a Sky Poker players' first visit into a 'live' venue.
TKP excel in making first timers feel really welcome at SPT's...we go out of our way to introduce them to players they may recognise from the tables, organise redic £1.00 sng's for them and generally try to make them feel as welcome and included as possible..we also make sure they have cabs and can get to the hotels etc okay...we smoke, we buy drinks and generally have a laugh and no-one gets left out!!!
Often the Orange shirts are an ice-breaker and a reference point for newer players...we are visible, easy to find, helpful and courteous...surely that can't be a bad thing?
While TKP are in the ME we bring banter and fun to the tables..it's really quite funny watching an orange on orange battle as no-one wants to 'give' lol! We have NEVER been accused of colluding and anyone who has seen us playing on a table together will understand why the idea is just laughable!!! As TKP get knocked out of the main event, often the newer players feel comfortable approaching us to join/start a sng or whatever!!
If this offends you then that's really too bad...but you can't say we don't bring valuuuuuuuu to these events!!!
Hmmmm Orange shirts in your youth eh? Are you sure you're not a TKPer in disguise ;o)))
FWIW I'm sure none of the teams would object to a separate 'team' area to post in, though you may find GPC reverts to the veritable graveyard it has sadly become in recent times...

well this is why sky poker is miles above its competitors for a lot of players on here it is a comunal passtime/event if your looking for something a bit more striaght forward 9 out of 10 othersites will give you that
Manchester utd, liverpool, the all blacks and the springboks These are all great teams, working hard for each other all in it together all sharing in each others success and sharing the rewards of that success. poker however is not a team game so why do we have so many pretend teams on this site, what is the point of it all??? it is very nauseating and boring the hell out of me are we all very sad and lonely individuals who need pretend online friends to fill a void??? does it make us feel wanted and accepted ??? Please explain because i dont know. Poker is a greedy individual game where you try to beat the hell out of every other player at the table.your winnings are your winnings and your losses likewise, if one of you won the sunday roller do you share it with all the other members of the team,i think not your not the hendon mob so stop all this nonsense and get back to being greedy selfish poker players.the way nature intended!!!!!! this may be the case but how do we know that many people have not left the site due to the team stuff hogging the forum??? also my post is regarding the teams and not the DTD thing, this sounds like it might be a good thing for new starters to get involved with, unless of course the team stuff completely takes over that as well!!!! does it???
Those in a team are happy, those not in a team dont like it......and never the twain shall meet This discussion is now closed Mod Alcoholic Posted by JAEGERBOMB
i am not bothered about that as such if i was unhappy about not being in a team then i would just join one,but i dont want to.because i dont want to i feel like an outsider as virtually every single post or thread is about this..if the forum is supposed to be for the whole sky poker commuinty then why does it only seem to be catering for the 'teams'

Team Stuff Does Not take over Forum DTD we are all Individuals chasing the Prize on offer while having Fun at the Tables also New People are joining in every Monday
post your suggestion in community suggestions section also....yes good idea for separate Team section........... let the suits look into it instead of everyone arguing rashly on this and other threads???? Posted by JAEGERBOMB
so the team threads are fine but anything else needs to be moved into another area??? seems pretty standard
AS JAEGERBOMB SAID WHY NOT SUGGEST WHAT YOU HAVE PUT IS THREAD IN THE COMMUNITY SUGGESTIONS TOO, AND SEE WHAT SKY SUITS SAY, AS A TEAM MEMBER I WON`T ARGUE WTH IT AS I AGREE, ALSO WE WOULD NOT ABANDON GEN CHAT, BUT DEFO LEAVE THE DTD THREAD IN GEN CHAT.
As the Captain of TPT (Team Poker Trev) I would like to make this statement:
New players to the site, might not be aware that quite some time ago “Sky Poker” introduced freeroll tournaments which were very much “Team Based”.
The very Popular “TKO” Series of online freerolls was team based. Then sometime after that they introduced more freeroll tournies that were team based. We had the “Blue Team” the “Green Team” the Yellow Team” the “Red Team” etc etc etc.
Teams are not new or unique to Sky Poker, it may surprise you, but it has been going on for quite some time.
The popularity of team events online has always been a success, however, I do agree we have had quite an explosion over the last few Months and maybe seperating the team threads could be a way forward. But as it stands, it's present interest, only cements the popularity of these types of online tournaments and in my opinion has inviggored what was becoming a lack lustre forum for Newcomers to Old timers.
In my opinion it helps new players get involved in the online community whilst the team spirit helps them improve their game and more importantly, it also helps to increase the entrants in the advertised events such as 7.15pm Deepstack, 7.45 Deepstack and the famous “Totty” (Take On Tikay).
I Would also Like to Say: Lets put one important misunderstanding to bed – The Forum DTD which is organised by DTWbandit and Scouse Red, takes place on a Monday Night consists of the three games I have mentioned above and was set up totally separate to any of the teams.
The whole purpose of the Monday Forum DTD is to generate involvement from NEW and Existing players and as anyone can see it’s popularity is going from strength to strength.
I made a decision to start my own team and use the Monday Forum DTDas a way of generating a little more interest to the said tournaments and community and help eleviate what can at times, be a very sole destroying night of playing online poker on your own, just a little more fun.
You don’t have to be a part of the Monday Forum DTD to take part in any of these tournaments, nor do you have to be part of any self constructed team. Everyone is entitled to play the game as they wish, but in my own personal opinion, I would like to see more people getting involved in the forum in whatever form pleases them as long as its not detrimental to the community or to individuals.
Take Part? - Don’t Take Part? – The choice is yours.
Separate It? – Don’t Separate It?
But Please! Please!……………for the sake of sanity, lets not spoil it.
