Guys i loved this forum but have to say i think now its getting silly! The guy who posted awful words etc has now been removed by his team and has been villified by all on the forum so can we not just END DISCUSSION on all of this now for the good of our fantastic FORUM?Silly mistake but lets all move on.JIM

This is none of my business so this is all I'm going to say on the matter. I don't think there was any need for this to be dealt with publicly on Sky Forums like this. This could, and should have been dealt with off the forums and on the 51er page imo. Public floggings like this serve no useful purpose, other to get people riled up.  Peacock made a mistake in comparison & literation, apologised and retracted. Falling out with each other after the fact also seems pretty pointless. Is it not probably time for all concerned to draw a line under this and move on? xx

I've read the whole thread IMO there are questionable judgements made from all parties involved.
Trip5's comment is the most sensible post i've read!
Everyone has had a chance to say what they think. Peacock has given a sincere apology and i'm sure the same mistakes won't happen again!
Team 51 have the right to set standards and on this occasion have stood by their principles.
Unless anyone has the ability to turn back time could we please draw a line under this incident and do what we do best.
Which is play poker and belong to possibly the best poker site on the planet.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion whether it be right or wrong but bitc h ing about other members on the forum for having an opinion can't be the way forward!

Personally i think we should just all move on before this starts to turn into the NVG on 2 plus 2. i read the original post, it was very offensive, not only did he insult DS sufferers he also told another member that he should get a rope..find a tree and (well basically hang himself). A decision has been made by our team, Toby or Alan hasn't publicly humiliated the offender or said any names in GPC. So lets move on and play poker :) simples.

I must admit that b4 i went to work yesterday this 'hang himself' post was as far as i got and i posted my objection to this post , by the time i knew what was goin on the thread in area51 was removed so i didnt get to see what had really been said.

I fully support Team51's decision to throw player out of team and rightly so , im just a wee bit concerned how this is going now and hopefully this will all finish sooner rather than later.

    +1 Dunmidosh & +1 Trips

The more comments made, the more anguished this has become!!

Everybody Agrees this should not have happened & escalated, Lessons learned, move on!!

I fully respect the way it has tried, to be dealt with by team51, but also fully respect the apology proffered.

After reading thru a coupla times, I considered not commenting, but feel this simple one may help!!

Please DO NOT add fuel to fire here, its seems everybody is embarrassed by the escalation! But Principles are Honorable!!

Please excuse my humble opinion, in an effort to resolve!!

    Yours Respectfully

    All,

We've had a chat this morning about the posts in question and some of the language used on the forum recently and we want to say this while drawing a line under the issue.

Sky Poker ultimately has to be a place that everyone enjoys using. People who use the forum are expected to read the guidelines which cover use of inappropriate and offensive language. It's obviously an emotive subject and one which we just ask everyone to be careful with their choice of language and the offence it might cause others.

While apologies after the event are something which should be recognised it doesn't mitigate for the initial post(s) which cause the offence. It's basically better to avoid than apologise.

Nor does the rule of 'well, certain words have been more commonly used' hold water. Two wrongs don't make a right and so please avoid any terms which could potentially cause offence entirely. Moderators will  be asked to keep an eye for this and we also ask you all to use the 'Report Abuse' button on posts which you think are over the mark.

Sky Poker has a great community and we'll always want it to be that way. Thanks a lot for your understanding and if you have any questions please PM me.

    Thanks again,
    Dave
