Guys - I believe some of the staff from the forum technical team are working on the old content on this thread. Can I ask you not to post on here for a while? Hoping we can get it back from the ashes!
In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : Hi neil Sky run satellites for each leg of the SPT, they are currently running for the Newcastle leg. Posted by acebarry10
In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : can you buy in direct ? Posted by neilymitch
Hi neil
I know they fill up quite quickly, I would suggest you put a post in the Sky Poker Tour thread, Mr SPT should pick this up in there and get back to you:)
Hi Tikay, i enjoyed your interview. not sure about the duck part tho...
anyway ill get to the point, can we please raise the min sit down from 10 BB to atleast 20 BB on all cash tables, including HU tables. think its time sky did what everyone else has.
I also hard a rumour of play the presenter on the 300NL TV tables on saturday nights, coming soon ? sounds like fun.
In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : You get a lot of play for your money in the smaller buyin tournaments. And you have good bankroll control this way. The £2.20 deepstacks are excellent and attract some good players too, so they will improve your game. And if you are good enough a few final tables will start to build your bankroll. Good luck Posted by penguin7
hi jordwins92 have you tryed the 35p 10player bountyhunters on the sit n go section you get some suprisingly good play and usually will get all or some of your 35p back in bountys or hopfully win! also 30p 60p dym.s you can then use your poker points to play freerolls. obviously i dont know your exact br situation but these are good ways to play lots of poker for very little and hopfully building more of a roll to save you depositing over and over hope this helps and good luck!
Hi Tikay, ive been playing poker since signing up with sky 4/5 months ago and love it on the site and watching the channel where i learnt the game to start with so thanks to sky and the community for all they do to help new players along the poker path. just recently i have gone through a tight for money patch but try to keep a playable BR on my account so ive been making the most of the poker points i have earned over the months by playing the FR tournys which are brilliant for anyone in similar situations but i was wondering why it is only at weekends when you can play omaha FR's? It would be great for people trying to get to grips with omaha and anyone with a tight BR to be able to play omaha everyday using there points. do you think this is a possabilaty in the future? thanks Russ.
hi tikay. first time ive posted and just joined from stars and was wondering does sky poker allow poker tools.... poker tracker etc... thanks Posted by Raymond999
Hi Rayond
No, i am afraid they dont work on here, we use out Hand Histories, which, imo is a lot better.
hi tikay my name is nick just some feedback please. i have only ever played on one poker site in my life and it is sky poker. first started playing here on 15/8/2011 just checked my deposit's and withdrawal's for the first time. i have deposited £4980 and withdrawn £5350 which makes me £370 up over all. pretty much all was through poker i have the odd bet on the horses and football but mainly poker. can i get some feedback on if i am doing ok for the time being or should i be doing better considering i think im pretty good at the game? even tho i am a fish . dont take the game seriously just fun really but always want to win ov course like we all do! only once have i lost wat i consider alot ov money my very first month i was up over 2k i thought it was EASY but then i sat and played a player called le chross hu. i was winning £400 off him in 20 mins then lost £1600 back in a 11 hour period effectively £1200 he won sigh. but he was a gentleman and told me a little about the site and who and who not to go toe to toe with lesson no1 since then have thurally enjoyed my time here and the cash for points is great i use that money to play cash games otherwise i stick to tournys and dym's. theres no doubt in my mind i will be sticking around love the banter aswell! just the one Big Question am i doing ok up to now i kno it's not winning big or losing but is it acceptable or am i not really that good? i played everyday for the first 2month's str8 this month i havnt bothered atal, told myself i will take it seriously in 2012 and hope to turn pro by 2013. look forward to your feedback and anyone else's thought's are welcome please thank you.
As you may know, I'm from Liverpool and the nearest SPT event for me this year will be in Blackpool. I fully intend to do everything I can to satellite into this as I've never been to an SPT before and I love live poker so much more than online poker.
So basically it's just a general question about this event. It's been announced as a 2day £220 Bounty Hunter event and I was just wondering if the head price would be the normal 50% of the buyin or not. I just thought that having a £100 price on each person's head might turn it into a bit of a crazy tournament (crapshoot), especially for people who have got in for £24 and can make a nice profit from just taking one 1 head.
So have any decisions been made about this yet?
Also, I look forward to hearing back from you about the Hu's Competition I've organised.
I've returned to the office today after a 2 week holiday, so I'll catch up on the questions soonest - today & tomorrow, hopefully.
PM's may take a little longer - there are literally hundreds of them, all awaiting a reply, so please bear with me, & I'll work through them as fast as I can.

Hi tikay
welcome back, hope your hol was very fruitful buckwise
whats the best when to play in a Bounty hunter tournament? come out guns blazing or wait a few blinds? Posted by olliepokr1
Hi Ollie.
Neither, & both, it kind of depends......
As with life, "all things in moderation", or, as applied to poker, keep a sense of balance.
I would play the START of a BH the same as any other "regular" Tourney, & would not change my game until 3 or 4 Levels in. Then, of course, because of the Head Prizes, we just need to push with a wider range, &, more awkwardly, call a lot wider.
shock horror withdrew money 2 weeks ago not won since now why does that not surprise me beat no matter wat hand lost lost lost lost lost shock Posted by shann
Ignoring the dripping sarcasm, you'll have to explain to me what point you are trying to make, Shann.
Been playing for 2 years now. Low level - up to £5.75 comps. How do I become consistent?. Too often I find myself at a seat with the very occasional play hand, get bored, and splash chips on very high risk draws. Advice please. Posted by jockrock
Tournaments will always be high variance, Jock, no matter how good you are, you will go on long "dry runs" from time to time, even if you are super competent.
If you want better consistency (less variance), I would suggest playing cash games.
Even then, if single-tabling, you may well get bored, & lose your starting hand & positional discipline. To overcome that, play 2, 3, or even 4 Tables - this reduces the boredom factor whch can cause you to "look for action".
