Why in MTT Deep Stack Saturday night and any other time do all Top Table players not get paid, a POINTS prize of 4 points is miserly and almost insulting, yes I finished 4th and was dissapointed, Posted by Tanya22
I believe this is the third time you have asked this question on 3 different threads, and the answer is STILL the same, the payouts are based on the number of people who enter the competition. The only exception to this rule is, I believe, the £22 deepstack at 7.30 each night when a minimum of 6 players are paid.

Hi Carly,
Ugh!
It's pretty much a "cooler" - you must NEVER pass in that spot, just accept it as a cooler. If you consider EVER Passing there, you'll be leaving "value" behind in the long term.
Hi Tikay, i would like to ask if there is a knack to be able to multi table. I found last night on tko11 hard to keep up with. I found myself consentrating more on the first event rather than the second and made very bad plays etc and went out early. Once i was out I seemed to do better in the first and although not cashing went out to a river card when well in front. Was it the blinds going up so quick, the fast pace of the games?. Our my lack of brain power, lol. Could it be that the two events were different with really more attentiom needed to the omaha which made it harder for me?. Any help would bw appreciated, Thanks, John

Good question Bowie.
Multi-Tabling is interesting. Above 2 or 3 Tables, it's hard to see where the fun is, but the big boys do it all the time. But unlike you & me, & most others, they don't play for fun, do they?
There is no argument - no credible argument - that says you play as well when you Multi-Table, either. But for those who get bored one-Tabling (lol, just lol!), if it eases the boredom, & thus stops you playing daft hands, then it makes sense I guess.
However....
Multi Tabling mixed games - Omaha & Hold Em for example - is NOT to be recommended, unless it's a "fun freeroll" like last night. The two games are totally different, with wholly different starting hand requirements, & I don't believe it's either sensible or optimal to try it for "real money". In Omaha, you MUST think much, much, harder, it's an altogether more complex - & rewarding - game. But mixing it with Hold Em does not work for me, or almost anyone I know.
If you decide to 2-Table Hold Em or Omaha (but not at the same time) don't even TRY to chat in the Chat-Box, the Tables pop up & down, & it's just not possible to play your A-Game when so doing.
If you don't have to chat, then it's very do-able. If you have to, or want to, chat, then it becomes extremely stressful, & not conducive to playing well.
I wonder if you can answer my question about the SPT? Is it worth coming along even if you have not qualified? Never played live and wonder if this is a good place to learn and everyone I "chat" to say how much they enjoy the experience?

Mr Kendall? Only my golfing freinds call me that! (Golf Etiquette requires Captains or Past Captains to be so addressed).
The answer to your question is YES YES YES.
I would not do you wrong here - come along to an SPT, & I GUARANTEE you will not regret it. The banter is massive, you get to meet all these "aliases" you only see Online, there are side games, SNG's, Fun SNG's, da de da. The whole day is immense fun, & anyone who has been to one of these will confirm that.
Please - come along - you will not regret it, & I'll make sure you are all right.

Don't tell him, it's a trick! lol
I'm still considering coming along. A few questions that would probably be better in the SPT thread but never mind...
If it's on Saturday is it best to come up Friday night and leave Sunday? I'm guessing that's what most people do. Where do most people stay? If I can't fit all my winnings in the boot of my car (an estate) can someone else get the rest back to Southampton for me?
I,m not sure if your the right person to ask Tikay, but perhaps you can let me know where to put this question to.
I was sent an email offering me free entry into a 7K tournament last week (15 + 1.50 pound buy in), but i forgot all about it as my girlfriend was in hospital.
I was wondering if they could put me in another one since I missed it.
Who would make this decison and how to I get in touch with them?
Cheers Tikay
Ps Perhaps you could put a word in - They,d listen to you

Hi Paul,
No, I'm afraid I cannot help on those sort of things. Contact Customer Care & explain the circumstances. The offer was a "one-off" though, & really, I'd be surprised if they are able to assist.
They did not, as such, offer to put you in the Tourney for free. What they said was if you Entered it, they would refund your Entry Fee, which is a slightly different thing really.

Many thanks for the answer Mr Kendall.
The answer to your question is Kilmarnock, home of Johnnie Walker whisky but alas for not much longer, don't get me started about multi national companies.
Well I will definitely be coming to the Glasgow leg then and would love to go down to Luton.
Machka, all I can think about now is the Italian Job, with you as Michael Caine and your winnings in the back of a bus balancing on the edge of a mountain!

The biggest single thing to help with multitabling is to have the tables 'tiled' so the whole of every table is on the screen at the same time - and don't do anything other than just play.
This is particularly helpful if there are only 2 as you will have a 'right hand side' tournament and a 'left hand side' tournament - your brain will subconsiously keep track of them separately that way.
The worst thing you can do with regards to multitabling is agree that it's a good idea for someone to set up a separate private tournament for every type of poker at every betting limit that a (different) poker site offered, and have all of them starting at the same time on the same day.

Oh my word - GREAT Post Sir!
You explained it so much better than me. Especially the tiling of the Tables, & "just play".
Alright Tikay ....... I'm a reasonable player at poker but can never seem to get all the way to the end of MTT's ......... usually its about 3 quarters of the way and bloody frustrating. Are there any decent books on the market that will give possibly give me an edge or a better understanding of the game including any tips, hints, betting patterns etc

Hi Carlos,
That's a common problem.
Just remember, at the sharp end.....
1) Increase your aggro factor substantially.
2) Never Limp at this stage.
3) Nick a lot more, find open spots & bet them strongly. A-K & A-Q are golden hands at this stage.
4) Keep an eye on your stack size. 15xBB & above is a re-shoving size, 10xBB is shove only really.
5) Get lucky.
As to books, no, I'm afraid I cannot recommend any.
Just got back from Nottingham, playing at the wonderful DTD in the Super 50 deepstack tournaments (Sat and Sun). While I did ok and had a lot of fun, I just could not help telegraphing when I had a monster. My heart beat at around 150bpm and my hands started to shake like a man with delirium tremens. As I tried to nonchalantly place a half-pot bet, the guys on the table laughed at my inability to pick up my chips! In never matters online, I can do a little dance when I flop trips.
Is there any way I can control this? I imagine that it is common (saw it in others when they had aces or kings) but no-one seemed to have quite the trouble I did!!

Only time will help you overcome this Tim. With time & experience, the problem will fade away.
My hands sometimes shake, particularly at the start of a Tourney, it's just regular nerves.
Once you settle down, it should go away. Try to relax at the Table too, that may help.
If you are still struggling, run a bluff (suitably "shaking") then show it. That'll confuse them!
Glad you enjoyed DTD - it's quite the best place to play Live Poker, different class to anywhere else in the UK, & there are few rooms in ther world which equal it - I don't know any.
I was wondering how I can get some advice off yourrself (preferably off course) or one of the other sky poker experts without putting it on the forum as I dont particularly want everone to see it as it could result in them getting information on myself.
Do you have a private email, msn etc or link on here?

Yes, use the Sky Poker Community Personal Messsage Service.
Do I have an MP3? No, I use a state-of-the-art Walkman.
PS - If you send me a Personal Message, please allow a few days for my reply, as I do get a little behind with them, so I try to do twice weekly "catch-up" sessions. Thanks.
