Got my bankroll up to £182.88, withdrew £62.88 to take it back down to £120 again, so my overall profit is now at £367.33.

Start off again at £120, i will keep withdrawing when i get around the £200 mark (or if) until i can get some self control haha.

**** me, went back to my old ways again and ended up asking for my casino to be enabled again all because i just lost a tenner, a tiny tenner and wanted to win it back.

What am i like eh? Ended up losing my £120, so i deposited another £250 and ended up winning my £120 back plus an extra £160, jesus christ! haha.

But thats not poker winnings so it doesn't count really haha. I have now got £530.55 in my account right now, i think i shall withdraw it all and maybe have a break for a week or so, if i can stay away from the poker tables that long (i bloody love it lol)

Thought i played brilliantly well tonight, i had no distractions whatsoever so i was fully focused on the poker, and made a nice profit of £10ish tonight, my bankroll is now at £144.74. (I withdrew like £400 to put it back to £120 again lol)

I had a few good hands i'd like to post, but to be honest i can't be ***** finding them, takes an age on titan haha.

Played in the monthly bonanza freeroll tournament tonight, was trying to better my min-cash from last month but i came 331st, about 40 away from the cash :( lol. Ran AK into KK with about 25bb remaining, so nothing i could do about that.

Played a little cash afterwards, just 100 hands exactly on one speed table, made a profit of $6 (£4?), was running good, best hand was when i flopped a set over someone's underset and someone else TPTK:

Seat 1: nicecallMr ($1.70 in chips)
    Seat 3: DearFriend1 ($1.57 in chips)
    Seat 5: Chizzi1652 ($15.48 in chips)
    Seat 6: Rdavek76 ($11.88 in chips)
Seat 8: Hero ($5.37 in chips)
Seat 10: IwinUloseXXX ($1.62 in chips)

    IwinUloseXXX: SB $0.02
    nicecallMr: BB $0.05

    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to Hero [9c 9s]

    DearFriend1: Raise To $0.10
    Chizzi1652: Call $0.10
    Rdavek76: Fold
    Hero: Call $0.10
    IwinUloseXXX: Fold
    nicecallMr: Fold

    *** FLOP *** [9h 10d D3]

    DearFriend1: Bet $0.28
    Chizzi1652: Call $0.28
    Hero: Raise To $0.85
    DearFriend1: Raise To $1.47 (all-in)
    Chizzi1652: Raise To $15.38 (all-in)
    Hero: All-in $4.42

    *** TURN *** [10s]

    *** RIVER *** [Jc]

    *** SHOW DOWN ***
DearFriend1: shows [10c As] (Three of a kind)
    Chizzi1652: shows [3c 3s] (Full house)
Hero: shows [9c 9s] (Full house)

    *** SUMMARY ***
    Total pot $21.88 Rake $0.61
    Chizzi1652: wins $10.11
    Hero: wins $11.77

The 10 on the turn made things a lot more interesting anyway haha.

So my bankroll is now at £178.82, i get some weekly cash bonus today at some point, will probably be about £5ish.

Well since this is the last day of the month, i might as well go over the month and set some targets for June.

Started playing online again on the 8th i think it was? In 3 weeks i have made a total profit of around £580 (it's too hard to work out how much exactly since i keep withdrawing to put my bankroll back down to £120 haha)

How much of that was from playing poker? Hmm.. well a lot of it was from blackjack, but i would say around £300 or so was from poker, and about £100 of it from the actual limit i should be playing at (2c/5c) haha.

Once again, too hard to figure it out exactly, but the main thing is that i've made a nice tidy profit this month, got my money back i lost from last time around which is good, and i finally managed to permantly ban myself from playing casino games (so even if i ask for them to be enabled, they will refuse)

All i have to do now is try and stop myself from chasing losses at the higher stakes tables. So many times i've done that, i'm not going to lie i like playing at those limits, but it's just too much of my bankroll so i'm ******** myself every hand i play in :P

    Goals for June:

    1) Like i said above, try and stick to playing 2/5c NLHE tables, don't chase my losses at the higher stakes.
    2) Cash in a couple of freeroll MTTs (I play one/two every week)
    3) I heard that 1BB per 100 hands is a good winrate, so i will try and keep that up, since i have no clue how much profit i'd like to make (and it wouldn't be good to say i'd like to make £100 this month, since i would end up playing badly or whatever trying to acheive that)
    4) I'm no good at setting goals, i'll think of more later haha. Anyone with any ideas for me, feel free to comment?

Isnt the average number of hands per hour on a single table around 50-60?

That means your goal is to make 2.5 cents per hour per table, which is about 2p?

You would have to 5 table for 10 straight hours to make a quid.

No wonder you play blackjack ;)

I'm sure i saw someone post in a different topic that 1bb per 100 hands is a good winrate, it was lambert180 or someone like that? I might have misread it, it might be 1BI per 100 hands, not 1 big blind since that does sound a bit ridiculous :P

I can play about 250 hands per hour on one table though, speed poker remember ;)

I need to find that topic again and re-read the posts... lol.
  • edited July 2013
Played cash for a hour just there, speed poker is great, i played 2 tables and a total of 520 hands in 1 hour, incredible haha.

Was a bit frustrating really, was just one of those sessions where every time i raised pre-flop with a monster, everyone folds and every time i raised pre-flop with a decent hand, everyone called and i missed completely haha.

Ended the session £3 down, mainly because i lost one buy in when some-one called my all-in shove pre-flop with 10,8 off suit and they flopped 2 pair lol.

Oh well, still at least i got a £20 bonus at the start of today, nice!

Bankroll is now at £197.29, will probably play a little more later as well, i'm feeling good and feel like i'm playing really well even though that was a losing session.
  • edited July 2013
Had to cut my latest session short since i was getting so frustrated with some absolutely disgraceful play by most of my opponents, really have no idea how some people play poker lol. I know in the long run i will win money of those ******** but not today haha.

At least i got a little bit of my money back towards the end, but still finished the session -£2.05 over 225 hands.

Going to sit back and relax for a bit, cool off. Don't know how many times i smashed my screen because of some idiot sucking out on me haha.

Really wish i could go up and play higher stakes poker, i would love to test myself there, but i've not won the lottery yet so its still 5nl for me :( haha. I have played 100nl a few times before to chase losses, and every time i seem to play brilliantly there, make some good plays etc and i haven't had a losing session playing there. But since it is so much money, i **** myself a bit every time i get involved in a hand :P

rant over, will bounce back tomorrow hopefully, i will drink my feelings away tonight ;)
  • edited July 2013
Well well well... yet again i am a lucky lucky ******* haha.

Lost a few quid playing 5nl, so i went to play 100nl again to try and get it back, ended up losing another £25 or so, and then i said to myself 'that's it, i'm done for today' but i just couldn't walk away knowing i'd lost £25, so i thought **** it, the £120 that is in my account right now is basically free, so i'm just going to go for it and see if i can win it back or not. Managed to get £6 of it back, then this hand happens where i win $100 (£65):

Seat 1: Hero ($109.25 in chips)
Seat 5: amunbull ($100.00 in chips)
    Seat 6: Daveyboy92 ($40.00 in chips)
Seat 10: yurarem ($101.50 in chips)

    yurarem: SB $0.50
    Hero: BB $1.00

    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to Hero [Ac Qd]

    amunbull: Raise To $3.00
    Daveyboy92: Fold
    yurarem: Call $2.50
    Hero: Raise To $11.00
    amunbull: Fold
    yurarem: Call $8.00

    *** FLOP *** [Qs Qc 10d]

    yurarem: Check
    Hero: Bet $10.00
    yurarem: Call $10.00

    *** TURN *** [Ks]

    yurarem: Check
    Hero: Bet $27.00
    yurarem: Raise To $54.00
    Hero: Raise To $81.00
    yurarem: Allin $26.50 (all-in)

    *** RIVER *** [2d]

    *** SHOW DOWN ***
Hero: shows [Ac Qd] (Three of a kind)
yurarem: shows [Jc Qh] (Three of a kind)

    *** SUMMARY ***
    Total pot $204.50 Rake $2.00
    Hero: wins $204.50

Wow haha. After he raised the turn, i just had that feeling that he had AJ or KQ, but i just decided to go for it and shoved, thankfully i had him crushed.

I wish i could play 100nl every time, i really do. It's so much more fun and skilful at the same time since most people there can actually play, but like i've said before i don't want to **** myself every hand i play since i'm not rich or anything haha. Maybe one day i'll be rolled for it :P

So after all that, my bankroll is now at £166.06, i'm away for a few beers now! lol.

Played in a freeroll tonight, lasted for 4 hours, came 47th out of 679 people to cash for $7 (£4.50ish)

Was average stacked for most of it, then with the blinds 6,000/12,000 i shoved for 10bb with 66 and lost v Q4 lol.

Bankroll is now at £127.96 (i withdrew to put it back down to £120 again yesterday)

Been too busy watching Andy Murray win wimbledon today (bloody brilliant, been celebrating all day haha)

Played about 8 hands in total, doubled up with KK v JJ AIP, then left the tables since i felt i was just too buzzing from Murrays win to concentrate and play properly haha. £3 up at least!

  • edited July 2013
Just finished another small half hour session, won't be playing much this week probably as i have other commitments during the night haha.

Finished +£4 overall, best hand was when i stacked someone with 22 v KK after flopping a set, got it all in on the flop and they held.

    Bankroll is now at £136.96

Can you not play during the day? Half an hour a day isn't much for sum1 who loves the game, you once said poker is your life!GET GRINDING !

My pal is staying for a week so i'm a bit busy haha. And i would play during the day but we only have one laptop and my mum/brother is usually on it then (and i'm normally sleeping until late anyway haha) and then i have poker at 7pm 4 nights a week so i can't really play until i get home at 11-12ish :)

I did play for a bit earlier though, won a few quid. Bankroll is now at £144.29

I don't remember the post your referring to but 1BB/100 isn't good, obv some will say if you're making any profit then it's good and that is true, but in terms of a serious good winrate, it is not.

You might have missed a 0 lol. A very good winrate would be 10BB/100 but yeah however you look at it longterm winrates look like they suck. Like 10BB/100 would be crushing but do that at 30NL and you're still earning <£3 per hour (you get about 80 hands per hour online imo).

That figure in itself is not life changing (although playing at 30NL is unlikely to be life changing) but say you play 6 tables and this causes your winrate to drop to 8BB/100 cos more tables will lower your winrate per table (but not necessarily your ££/hour across all tables) then you'd be winning 8 x 30p so £2.40 per table per hour. So over the 6 tables you're making £14.40 per hour.

Play for about 35 hours per week and that's £500 per week. But again that's a crushing winrate and that's longterm... in the short term you might be -£500 or +£1000 in one week, ya never know ;)
  • edited July 2013
I thought i missed a 0 in there somewhere haha. I play 2 speed poker tables at one time, i can manage 250 hands per hour on each table (so 500 hands in an hour total.)

I have no idea what my winrate is right now because i keep withdrawing my money so i can't keep track of my profits etc very well. (I did have a word document with my weekly profits on it but i accidentally deleted it oops haha)

Anyway, i played for an hour tonight, managed to win £7.26 in total after a slow start, don't think i got dealt a card higher than a 10 in my first 100 hands hahaha. (Slight exaggeration probably but i was card dead :P)

Can't really be bothered searching for the hand history for my best hand of the night, it was pretty standard stuff, got it all for about £5 with a flopped flush v a flopped set and it held :)

Current bankroll is now at £127.26 (I withdrew again lol)

I'm sure i could work out my total profit if i could find my last post where i mentioned it, and then do a little bit of math but i'm a lazy ******* so i will do it on Sunday nights as a weekly thing just to keep track :)

So, let me get this straight, and by all means correct any of the following:

    - You 'grind' 5NL
    - You 2 table
    - You admit to occasionally degenning on Blackjack (or other casino games)
    - You frequently bankroll tilt up to 20x your regular stake
    - You overbet bluff
    - Your current winrate is around 1bb/100 at 2c/5c
    - You've admitted to busting your entire roll in the pit, only to immediately redeposit and punt your roll (again) in Blackjack.
    - You often withdraw all profit, and reset your bankroll to around $100, but insta-deposit more when you go bust.
    - You quit after small winning sessions, and stay for a longer period of time when you're stuck.

This is not a winning formula, nor do I think that anyone reading this diary should be impressed by what you're going through. Frankly, I think those coming in to support you in this thread are undermining their own intelligence by not just being brutally honest with you, instead of hiding behind nervous smiles and twitchy thumbs up whenever a new post reveals you've just flipped a coin for your entire roll again. With the way you began this diary, it isn't surprising that you have such a disregard for money, bankroll management, general poker guidelines, or advise from people itt.

If you really want to succeed, buck up b4 busto.

I'll go through your post one point at a time smitalos:

In Response to Cruel to be kind?:
You 'grind' 5NL - You 2 table - You admit to occasionally degenning on Blackjack (or other casino games) - You frequently bankroll tilt up to 20x your regular stake - You overbet bluff - Your current winrate is around 1bb/100 at 2c/5c - You've admitted to busting your entire roll in the pit, only to immediately redeposit and punt your roll (again) in Blackjack. - You often withdraw all profit, and reset your bankroll to around $100, but insta-deposit more when you go bust. - You quit after small winning sessions, and stay for a longer period of time when you're stuck.

You 'grind' 5NL - Yes i play speed hold'em on the 2c/5c tables.

You 2 table - Yes, 2 tables is enough for me, thats 250 hands per hour on each table, so 500 total. (Which is just about the same amount as 6 normal tables isn't it? I've tried to play more than 2 tables at a time but it is really difficult, it goes far too fast for my liking lol, hence the name 'speed' poker.

You admit to occasionally degenning on Blackjack (or other casino games) - Yes, but i have managed to pemantely ban myself from playing them ever again, so that's not a problem anymore thankfully.

You frequently bankroll tilt up to 20x your regular stake - This is one of my biggest problems, because it isn't tilt that is the problem. My problem is that i am a gambling/money addict, i can't seem to take a loss no matter how much it is. I won't go into much detail on this, i'm sure no-one wants to read about my gambling problems haha.

You overbet bluff - I do occasionally, yes. What's wrong with that?

Your current winrate is around 1bb/100 at 2c/5c - No that's not my winrate, i was just asking what a good winrate is lol. I read in another thread it was 1bb/100 and was just asking for clarification but i must have misread it. I've no idea what my winrate is to be honest but it definitely is higher than 5bb/100.

You've admitted to busting your entire roll in the pit, only to immediately redeposit and punt your roll (again) in Blackjack - Yes, this was a while ago when my gambling problem was at its worst. I was in profit of about £300 playing poker, then all of a sudden i had a bad day, lost just a tenner and decided to try and win it back playing blackjack, but i ended up losing my entire bankroll. I couldn't stop myself from redepositing and trying to win all my money back, but i ended up losing that money as well.

You often withdraw all profit, and reset your bankroll to around $100, but insta-deposit more when you go bust - Yes i withdraw all profit because i don't want to have too much in my poker account until I get my gambling problem sorted out. I reset it to £120 every time i reach £150. I only went bust once, and that was because of blackjack yet again so i did redeposit about £250 and got lucky to get my money back plus a few hundred extra. But hopefully this won't be a problem anymore now i've permantely banned myself from playing any casino side games.

You quit after small winning sessions, and stay for a longer period of time when you're stuck - No that's not true, i always say to myself how many hands i will play in a session before i quit, no matter how badly or good i'm doing. Normally it's 250 hands per table and sometimes it is just 100, depends on what time it is etc. I normally do about 3 100 hand sessions in a day, and one 250 hand session. (Thats on 2 tables so a total of 1000+ hands a day normally)

There you go haha. Not being big-headed or anything but i just know i'm a good player overall. The only problem i have is the fact i'm a gambling/money addict, which to be honest is out of my control lol. I'm only 19, so i know i have time to try and fix my problems and that obviously. And improve even more as a player. I don't want to quit playing poker because of my problems, i love the game more than anything. It's the only thing i've been motivated to learn and practise etc in my entire lifetime lol.

Very nice indeed! Both happened on the same table, the other table was boring as hell, i hardly played a hand on there hahaha.

Some statistics for you, thanks to Lambert180 for giving me the link to this website, it's great.

Literally got no idea what half of those mean though, well i have a rough idea but anyone care to help me out? haha.

Not basing my play over just 6 sessions btw, i'm just copying and pasting it to see it if actually works or not lol. I will continue to post those statistics agter every say.. 10 sessions or so? No idea what a good number would be to be honest.

Anyway, bankroll is now at £146.30, got a VIP deepstacked freeroll tournament tonight at 10, should be fun.

I see the copy and paste thing did work out well lol.

Finished 88/923 in the tournament, standard exit, shoved pre with 18bb with AQs into pocket 10s, the 10s hold lol. Made $2.20 from it though, not bad.

Played a little cash just before the tournament started and won £7 or so, so been a really good day today.

    Bankroll is now at £154.97

    What? haha.

Playing in a $5000 gtd freezout tournament right now, $10 buy in, but i won a free ticket to it so if i cash its all profit :P, should be fun. Off to a good start anyway, lets hope it keeps going this way lol.

Finished 151st out of 550 odd runners in that tournament, about 70 away from the money was doing rather well until i got coolered :( haha.

Played a bit of cash as well, total of 200 hands and i made a loss of $0.02 (that's not even 1p, is it!?) hahaha.

Well its been 10 sessions since i started using that website to record my sessions, and i said i'd post it up after every 10 sessions so here it is: (the 10 sessions consists of 8 cash sessions and 2 freeroll tournaments)

Made a nice tidy profit since i started using it, it's been a useful tool to have :)

Also i said i will work out my overall profit since i started playing again on Sunday nights, it was difficult to work out since i keep withdrawing my profits haha.

Total profit i have made since i started playing again is just over £700 (that includes blackjack as well as poker)

Not bad! I'm happy with that anyway lol.

Oh yes and my current bankroll is now at £154.96 (seems like $0.02 is actually 1p!) haha.

Will probably withdraw to £120 again tomorrow, i get my cash for points bonus then as well.

Also made a nice 5bet bluff work, had notes on oppo saying he was raising a lot of buttons, capable of barrelling, competent player etc and i also noticed that when he 4bet me, he did it rather quickly which i thought was a tell that he wasn't that strong. So i thought a 5bet shove would make him fold a lot of the time to make it a profitable play, and he snap folded lol:

    Seat 3: GTpoker200 ($1.14 in chips)
    Seat 6: Vidas2801 ($1.18 in chips)

Haven't played much today, didn't wake up until late so only had time to have a half hour session before going out to play poker at the pub lol, ended up +£2.50ish there, just finished another session, another half hour one, 200 hands and a total loss of £1.50ish, so just a £1 profit for the day, i did get a £2.33 cash or points bonus as well.

I might have another session later on tonight, just depends how much of My Family i want to watch, i've started watching it again from the beginning and i've had a few beers so i don't want to play while i'm a bit tipsy :P

    Bankroll is now at £161.07
