Right, played the DTD tonight for the first time in weeks. Forgot how fun they were. Never really built a stack in 2 of them and in the other I started well but then had to fold JJ twice on unkind flops after I had 3 bet pre (then had my backside spanked every orbit!). Did manage to min cash in DTD 1 though so the night was almost free.
Gonna try to play the DTD every week from now on...........top night, all for the price of a couple of pints.

Quick update......Didn't manage to take down the TOTP game but it was a good laugh with some good banter in the rail. Plus you can never moan about a free £20!

Having an early night so no more poker for me.
I just played mtt's. I have been having a couple of nights off from the cash tables as they were doing my nut in.
Had a go at the Win the button (or whatever it was called) mtt. Was a good laugh and made a nice change from the standard mtt formats, although it does get annoying when you are on the bb 3 or 4 times on the trot!!! Would def play this kind of tourney again though, didn't cash this time but it was only a quid to play so no biggie. Also had another crack at the 35p BH......no joy.
Played the £250 BH.......no cash, 1 head prize. But I did manage a min cash in the £500 BH along with 1 head prize. The exit hand was quite brutal, I shoved my 7bb with QJ, get looked up by guy with J3o for 1/3 of his stack...........happy days, that was until the 3 came down on the flop. Still these are the calls you want in the long run so no complaints there.

The most frustrating part of the evening was being bubble, bubble boy in the £2k BH freeroll where I was 12th with 10 seats to the £11 BI mtt.........sigh. Was one of the shorties and shoved my 77 on the button only to lose to the small blind's AQ.........close but no cigar!!!!!

Could have been a nice return had I won a seat.
So, a losing night but I did enjoy playing more than I would have done being sat on the 4nl tables. Gonna have to play some cash in the next few days to try a regain my losses though.
Forgot to mention, I also played a £2.30 SPT sat. I really wanna go and play the main. I'm 90% sure that I'm going to rail the TPTers, put some faces to names and play the Friday night sidey.....but would love to play the main too!!!

Have mainly been playing mtts but apart from the odd min cash I have not been having much success. I have decided to stick purely to mtts for now because they are what I enjoy playing the most. If my br drops to £30 then I will stop play them for a while and get back on the cash tables to try and re-build.
This plan does not give much room for error but at least I will be having fun!!

First up I played a £25 gtd £1.10 BI.....this is a rebuy but decided I wasn't taking the rebuy or addon, it can be done without these. Not tonight though lol, Never got going!.........btw there were only 10 runners!

Tonight didn't go so well. Had two sat attempts for the 8k BH and was first out both times.......the hand that repeatedly kicked me in the nuts was KK. In one mtt I had them twice on the trot and lost both times. I either had them and lost or lost to them. Not loving kings tonight!!!
Did cash in the £500 BH but still quite frustrated with that too. I was sitting 3/22 then in the space of 2 hands my stack was destroyed. I ran 99 into aces all in pre then very next hand I shove my last 12bb with AK and get looked up by AJ (with the chance of a big head prize).....he rivers the flush. Lost my last 4bb with 66. Was all pretty standard stuff but slightly gutted as I felt that I could have at least made the final table.

Have been running and playing awful recently and the high variance involved with playing mtts is hurting!!
I know I'm desperate for ANY money when after building up a decent stack and then getting trampled all over in the syndicate freeroll, I then allow myself to run the clock down with my 2.5bb to hold on for 2.30 lol

Poker has been awful for the past couple of nights. Tonight was no change, cant win a flip, can't win a 70/30. I'm posting 3 key hands from tonights DTD's.
1. I know the oppo here. He had been 3 betting light most of the game and had recently lost half his stack. When he 3 bets again I'm pretty sure my hand is good so shove.........I discussed the hand briefly in the chat box. I was basically questioning his call, saying I'm not 4 bet shipping with worse than KQ. He said he was short?? I know its not a bad beat, but was I right to 4 bet shove given my reads. Had oppo invested to much to fold??

Still going to stick with mtt's until I'm down to 30 quid........hopefully that won't happen but things need to turn around and fast. I will just play 1 or 2 mtts a night instead of the 4 I was playing before until things start to improve.

Update: A bad night at the tables. Only really got going in one mtt, the £1.10 deepy. but with 38 left I made a crucial mistake, at least I think it was a mistake??? Here is the hand.
Just did not expect a 7x to be limp calling here. I figured they may have an overpair to the board, maybe A8 or most likely a flush draw. Should I have folded???

That's maybe the problem with the low stakes tournies, bad play by a good number of opponents. A lot of oppoents lol
I've been caught out with similiar stuff in the last few games, opponents calling with total junk and hitting.
Yeah we want these calls, but with the sheer amount of bad play, they inevitably are going to hit their hand sometime.
In the hand above, it's a tight fold, but they are saying loud and clear they have trips. Unlucky
But, from my experience in the last couple of weeks bad players, don't lie lol
